This was a great get away to enjoy time with visiting family. Plenty of near by attractions and the atmosphere and arrangements were perfect for evening games and entertainment
Great place for our girls trip! Very comfortable with plenty of room to relax, both inside and outside. The heat was a little hard regulate between the upstairs and downstairs but would definitely come back again. The house had everything we needed
Very nice place- enjoyed the hot tub and loved the scenery.Decor and furnishings were very nice. Liked bathroom soaps , shampoo, and conditioner. The only thing that is a negative for me ,was the accumulation of dust on picture frames, ceiling fan, wood work ,window frames light fixtures and mirrors in bathrooms. Our stay was very good and we would recommend it and would stay again . We liked the history of the home, that was a plus as was the basket full of pamphlets on what all Ft. Braggs had to offer !
Liked being close to all attractions of the area. Secluded and private, and owners thoughtful care for a great experience for our family. We felt at home. Thank you!
Very clean and spacious house. Impressed with how complete the kitchen was stocked with dishes and cooking utensils. Nice and quiet location, but near Fort Bragg and a lot of state parks. The little store just down the road was surprisingly well stocked for overlooked items.
What a great home, fully stocked with equipment and utensil for cooking. Hot tube setting surrounded by redwoods. Just lively. I would stay here again. Only concern is tge set of stairs to main floor. If your ok to climb tgen its the perfect place. We want to return again next year.
Simply amazing! This was our fifth time spending a week at Chateau Cleone with the family. I can't say enough about how wonderful this home and the hosts are. Yes in a great location close to beaches and shopping yet private. The home is perfect as it is clean comfortable and has been well maintained and is stocked for most anything you need. The hot tub nestled in the redwoods is amazing and we look forward to coming back next year!
We were close by to everything, but still felt like a secluded space with lots of privacy. The house was large and outfitted with everything we could have wanted. Extra blankets in the closet, firewood, and all of the amenities.
The location of the property was great — nestled in a quiet neighborhood, which made for peaceful mornings and restful nights. We also appreciated how close it was to local attractions and amenities.Unfortunately, our stay was affected by a few significant issues. The downstairs area had an overwhelming moldy, musty smell that made it uncomfortable to spend time there. It seemed persistent and not just a matter of airing out the space.Additionally, we were surprised to find a camera on the property that had not been disclosed in the listing. This made us feel uneasy and raised concerns about privacy during our stay. While the setting had potential, these issues prevented us from fully enjoying the experience fully.

Thank you for your feedback on the musty odor downstairs. We depend on guest response to know how to improve the property. We will address that with carpet cleaning and a dehumidifier. The security camera is in the driveway only. There are NO cameras inside the house. We hope to see you again. Thanks again, Kathy and Tim
This property was absolutely spotless upon check in. Everything was exactly as described and the location was perfect. The reverse floor plan is great for families and the spa was such a nice treat to end each day. I highly recommend for any family visiting the area and hope to stay again in the future.
Stayed for 2 nights with a bachelor party group. Loved the hot tub in the redwoods especially and the whole vibe of the place was perfect. Would stay again!
Spacious and comfortable, with a kitchen stocked with a great variety of cooking supplies (although, oddly, no dinner-size plates). We especially loved sitting on the west-facing deck on sunny afternoons. The heating system is a bit loud, but with the moderate temperatures at Fort Bragg, heat really wasn't necessary. We just used it briefly to take the chill off. As others have mentioned, the hot tub encircled by redwoods was magical!Definitely recommended!
We loved our stay! My twin sister and our toddlers (two 2 year olds) had a blast! My sister and I enjoyed the incredible hottub, the beds were comfy and loved watching cartoons with the kiddos when we woke up! Highly recommended!
Very comfortable house, relaxing and quiet neighborhood
We enjoyed the house (location is beautiful) and it was close to MacKerricher park where most of our family camped. The owners are very receptive and responded to every inquiry. We definitely would recommend and rent again.

About the host
Hosted by Tim and Kathy Gaughen
Aloha, We recently relocated to this beautiful community from the Big Island of Hawaii. We lived on the island for 35 years where we raised our family and fully enjoyed the island style of living. When we retired, though, we knew it was time for a change. Back in California after all those years in Puna, Volcano, and Kona, we now enjoy the proximity of children, grandchildren and extended family.
Why they chose this property
Like Kona, Fort Bragg is a spectacular Pacific Coast community. This property offers space, beauty, redwoods, wildlife, and comfort.
