This is a beautiful cabin in the woods overlooking the lake. It is well maintained, clean and well stocked with all you need for cooking and enjoying the solitude of the woods by the warmth of a fire.
This cabin was very cozy and provided everything we needed to make ourselves at home during our stay. It was well stocked with all the supplies we could possibly need to fully embrace our time at the cabin and for our ventures in Kodiak.
Extremely welcoming host! Excellent communication! If I had any questions they were answered immediately with quick responses. Beautiful home in and even more beautiful setting!! Highly recommend and would return!!!
We thoroughly enjoy the house it was very clean and quiet. Communication between us and the owners was good. They allowed us a little extra time to check out. The view was amazing. I would book this house again.
The cabin was absolutely beautiful and cozy. The appliances appeared to be new and everything worked perfectly. It was also very nice that essentials like coffee filters trash bags kitchen supplies laundry detergent were all provided. The cabin is located in a neighborhood but felt private and secluded from the back porch which overlooks Island lake. We usually stay at a remote cabin but I now prefer a place like this due to the convenience to the harbor and restaurants. This cabin will be at the top of our list for future visits to Kodiak.

Thanks for taking the time to write a nice review. We are glad you enjoyed the place. We hope you will stay with us again.
Caden (sp?), Avery and Sadie greeted us when we drove up and kindly helped take our bags inside. The house was gorgeous and stocked with everything anyone would need. We especially enjoyed sitting on the deck and listening to the loons and bald eagles. Internet was fast and we picked some of the salmonberries and blueberries growing in abundance around the house. I would have loved to have stayed longer. Highly recommend l!
My wife and I moved to Kodiak in 2019. I worked remote as a Fisheries Biologist and my wife as a PA. My parents bought the Cabin the day after our Daughter was born in 2020. This property has been a blessing to our family ever since. We happily manage the property for them when they are back home in Kansas. No matter the season their cabin provides a relaxing setting for extended stays. We hope to share this special place with people traveling to Kodiak for work and leisure.
Why they chose this property
Set in the forrest on a hill overlooking Island Lake provides a beautiful and secluded setting . There is a 0.6 mile trail from the cabin to the Pacific Ocean at Mill Bay Beach. The hike follows the decent of the Island Lake Creek down a small waterfall through the forrest to the ocean. It feels remote yet it is only a short drive to town.
What makes this property unique
It is surrounded by old growth forrest and blueberries on 3 sides with a view of Island Lake. The architecture is of a 1970 chalet style with a recent but timeless remodel. On cool nights with the wood stove burning you feel as though you are living in a simpler time.
