This home was beautiful!!! Quiet!!! And very well kept!!! It had everything that was needed for our weekend stay. The host was responsive and timely. We would definitely stay here again when in the area!!!
Since we were meeting to commemorate having 5 generations of family members in one place, we needed something local and big enough to handle a larger gathering. This house was wonderful and worked perfectly for the occasion. Great scenic views, plenty of room for everyone, and a fantastic location provided easy access to everyone in attendance. The hosts were very communicative, answered questions quickly and helped create an atmosphere that we could relax in.Thanks for the hospitality and look to seeing you in the future!
We had a great time hosting some hardworking staff from Camp Barnabas in Purdy. Such a peaceful setting. The large yard made for a fun outdoor experience for the boys. The horses will eagerly meet you at the fence (looking for a carrot not doubt.) Wonderful for large family/ friend gatherings with so many cozy beds, big family eating space, and a wonderful porch for dinner or morning coffee. We enjoyed the rejuvenation it provided for our crew and look forward to our next visitThe owner had helpful and timely communication with us. Just a couple heads ups - 1. use Google Maps to map to the address given by the owner. Do not use Apple Maps - you will end up miles away. 2. the AC units may be on a schedule and may shutoff. Just change the thermostat setting off schedule mode
The home and setting was absolutely beautiful once you found the place. The address online was inaccurate and sent us on a wild goose chase with no communication except for some answering service in Utah. The lady was not from Missouri and could not help us navigate to the property. Once she told us to plug in Shoals Creek Retreat, we followed that and finally made it, 2 hours later. Also, I had sent a message the day before our visit, as well as the day of the visit for a door code. I didn’t receive a door code until the morning after we arrived. Luckily, the front door was unlocked when we got there. Online it said check out time was 11:00 but there was a welcome book in the house that said 10:00 sharp and no later because the cleaners would be there promptly at 10:00 to clean. I messaged the owner through VRBO, after calling the number in the Welcome book with no answer, and asked if we could check out at 11:00 as we were planning. A couple minutes before 10:00, they communicated it was ok to stay until 11:00 and apologized for the confusion. I’ve never left a bad review in all the years of staying through VRBO but there were too many things that put extra stress on the weekend because of lack of communication and incorrect information that I couldn’t help but post this review. The property itself was breathtaking and accommodating. Everything was clean and comfortable and beautiful. I hope they’ll update some of these things for the next guests to have a better experience
