Chez Flottes. Paradise in the heart of the Malbec vineyards.
Our property is a 344 year-old convent restored in a typical Lot Quercyblanc home. It is located on the Route de Vignobles (wine route), six kilometers up from the medieval town of Cahors. Nestled above the vineyards, guests will have a splendid view of the area.
There are four charming bedrooms, one of which contains the front of the original bread oven! The kitchen and bathrooms have all been updated with modern amenities. We have outdoor dining for ten people, a swimming pool, a vine covered pergola, numerous fruit trees, Herbs de Provence and a gas and Weber charcoal grill. We now have a great room in the Pig House. Beautiful views on the vineyards, smart TV, WIFI and next to the swimming pool. The property is walled in, allowing for complete privacy. Enjoy the wine, foie gras, truffles and the local cuisine. Enjoy a croissant and espresso in the hot Lot sun. Nearby Cahors, the capital of Department Lot, was an important Roman town during the 14th century. We now have outdoor spa for 7 people!!! AC in house and great room!
Places of interest are the famous Pont Valentre, the market, local vineyards and wineries, medieval fortifications, and historic churches.
As you travel upstream from Cahors you will pass beautiful countryside leading to St. Cirq Lapopie and the prehistoric Pech Merle caves. To the north are Rocamadour the religious shrine, the Dordogne, and the Gouffre de Padirac. Don't miss the dungeon from the 10th century in Montcuq. And Cordes en Ciel is another picturesque village to explore, as well as the rivers Tarn and Aveyron. Enjoy an evening in a local bistro which offers wonderful quality, good value, and an assortment of tastes. Our home is decorated with the warm colors of Provence, and has lovely amenities. A massive wood-burning fireplace fills up the dining room. There is a spiral staircase leading to the downstairs level. We offer a washer and dryer for your convenience. All the beds are dressed with cozy duvets and high quality cotton sheets. Miele steam oven in kitchen. New amenity.
The downstairs bedrooms have their own private French doors leading out to a spectacular view of the vineyards which produce the well-known Cahors wine.
This is a home and holiday spot not to be missed.

It is a beautiful property. The pool area was a big hit. It was very quiet and relaxing and the owner went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. Our biggest challenge was getting to know the area because everything required a drive but once we understood where we were we were fine. We highly recommend this property for a nice relaxing retreat and getaway. It is centrally located to the many sights of the Lot Valley.

Beautiful villa in the south of France!
This last May I had the amazing opportunity of staying at this beautiful house in southern France. Built in the 17th century, the house has a unique and historical feel to it compared to other places I've stayed in France. Comprising of several bedrooms, the house offers a great deal amount of space if you are looking for renting a place suitable for a family plus a modern kitchen which is perfect for cooking big meals. Besides the house, the property also includes another small house which is primarily used for storage, however, one part was converted into a living room that overlooks a vineyard in the small valley below. There is also a pool and a hot tub available to use, however, due to the weather, the pool was closed when I visited the property. In regards to the region where the house is located, I had no complaints. Located in the small community of Flottes less than fifteen minutes away from the bigger town of Cahors, the surrounding neighborhood is peaceful and quiet and offers a great setup if you are interested in traveling to other historical towns in the area. Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, Rocamadour, Montcuq, and Castelnau-Montratier are just a few of the towns I had the opportunity on visiting and each one had great things to see and visit. The last thing that I loved the most was the food. During my whole stay, I don't believe I had one really bad experience with food. Everything was fresh and restaurants were easy to come by which made the stay even more enjoyable. The people were also friendly and welcoming even if they didn't speak your language. I guess if I were to say one negative thing about the trip, it would be about the weather that I experienced. For almost half of the vacation it was raining and cold, however, it didn't stop me from going out and exploring. Besides the weather, though, I had an amazing experience staying at this house. I would definitely return sometime in the near future if I come back to southern France. The property offered many great features and a great location for traveling to other areas in southern France. If you are interested in experiencing authentic France, definitely stay at this place, I recommend it!

You Will LOVE Chez Flottes!
We had an absolutely amazing time during our stay at Chez Flottes! The gorgeous home was perfect in every way. Situated in the picturesque French countryside, Chez Flottes is a great destination to both explore and relax. We enjoyed our excursions to the beautiful hillside towns of Saint Cirq Lapopie & Rocamadour and to the nearby prehistoric cave paintings at Pech Merle...but just as thoroughly enjoyed our time spent lounging by the pool and watching the grapes being harvested at the vineyard adjacent to the property. The views from Chez Flottes are breathtaking. The charming home is beautifully furnished, with a great, fully-stocked kitchen and cozy, comfortable bedrooms. You will especially love the newly renovated 3rd floor master bedroom and bath. Jean, the owner, was very responsive and helpful, and Gerard & Nicole (the local caretakers of the property) could not have been nicer. Chez Flottes provides the perfect accommodation for a memorable vacation to the French countryside....it is highly recommended!

Chez Flottes Aug 2010
A truly beautiful traditional French property, with every single need catered for. The kitchen had everything you need and much more, the bedrooms and bathrooms were stylish and comfortable, and the outdoor landscaping and furnishings were second to none. Views across the valleys vineyards, sightings of deer from the pool all added up to make this a memorable and delightful stay in rural France. The lovely town of Cahors is only 10 minutes drive away, and day trips to nearby Rocamadour and Sarlat are highly recommended. Outstanding holiday accommodation, picturesque, tranquil and welcoming.

Privacy, Peace and Charm
This charming vacation home turns its back on a quiet village to face a valley of vineyards. You will wake to roosters crowing in the morning and, if you are lucky, listen to the night song of an owl as you fall asleep. Relax by the pool, dine al fresco, all while sipping the deep, rich, black wine of Cahors. The air is rich with woodsmoke and the heady aroma of juniper and rosemary. Inside the house you will feel on vacation, for the very stylish owner knows how to mix traditional French with whimsy. Everything here is designed for your comfort. It is a joy to prepare meals in the sunny kitchen, or relax in any room of this beautiful home. The only hard part is leaving!
