About this property
The Historic Fairbrook Manor - PA Furnace -
The Fairbrook Manor is a treasured estate, located eleven miles west of State College. Built in 1834 as a home for PA-ironmaster, John Lyon and his family, the property has a rich and diverse history over the last 190 years. In the early 1900s it served as the Fairbrook Country Club. Multiple US Presidents, including Dwight D. Eisenhower and Jimmy Carter have visited and enjoyed times on the property. Over the last 80 years, it has remained within the Harpster family and is owned and managed today by Wayne & Marjorie Harpster. A few groups rent the Manor in spring and summer months to fly fish on the adjacent, famous Spruce Creek.
The Manor is 11 miles from State College. 14 miles from Beaver Stadium. With seven guest bedrooms (8 beds), and two full bathrooms, ideal group size is 6-8 guests. A full kitchen, dining room, living room with SmartTV cable, WiFi, and laundry-room make the property a very comfortable stay. The front porch offers a grand setting with tables, chairs, outdoor lighting, and an outdoor grill.
For groups considering fall football season weekends, the Manor will be beautifully decorated for the fall season. Guests can hike and wander below the property along the stream. Reservation does not include fly fishing access, however guests can inquire and add this on, when here.
