Our family of 5 really enjoyed this property. It was perfect for an excursion for a long weekend. The ambiance of the cabin is exactly what you want for an authentic northwoods experience.

Great stay for our Northwoods getaway! This cabin was ideally located for our annual trip of 6 extended family members. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and the adjacent dining area was great for our meals together; sleeping accommodations were great with ample and comfortable beds; and the sitting area with fireplace was equally comfortable to enjoy the beautiful view to the lake. Also, the dock worked well for our fishing boats and electricity was close for their batteries. Communications and guest support before and during our stay was also excellent. Thanks for a great week!

first I had thought I mentioned two boats, docking for only one, dead mouse in trap under backside of couch,HUGE spider on front window still,no trailer parking space, but clean house n bedding and adequate sleep space, location on lake, and fit our serious fishing needs.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you found the house and bedding clean, had adequate sleeping space, and especially enjoyed the lakefront location for your fishing trip. To clarify, the dock accommodates one boat. We have since updated the listing to make this more clear and avoid any confusion for future guests. Regarding the mouse, we did experience some issues with mice during the summer of 2025, but those issues have since been addressed and resolved. We now have a professional pest control company servicing the property on a regular basis. As for spiders, they are unfortunately part of the natural environment when staying in a cabin surrounded by the woods. That said, our new cleaning team has been doing an excellent job of removing spider webs and checking the property prior to each guest’s arrival to minimize their presence as much as possible. There is parking available for 1–2 trailers, as other guests have successfully parked trailers at the property. Please note that the driveway is one-way and does not have a turnaround area, so trailers and vehicles will need to back out upon departure. There are designated wider areas along the driveway to make backing up easier. We appreciate your feedback and are always looking for ways to make the property information clearer and improve the guest experience.

The cabin itself was wonderful.Cozy but spacious for our group of 6.Beds were great and comfy. There were very nice towels and linens. And kitchen was very very well stocked! The bathroom had one of the best hot showers we have ever had in a VRBO. We also really loved the stone fireplace lit while having our coffee in the morning and the furnace was perfect for two very cold mornings we had in our two weeks. And of course the sunset viewing perspective was stunning. We were sad the canoes were locked. We would suggest maybe having one available for guests. We had brought our kayaks but maybe a few could be bought for guests with a note they bring their own life jackets. We have been up in Ely for close to 40 years and this was the first time the property next to ours was so unfriendly feeling and cluttered with too many KEEP OUT Signs. Spotlights on their garage pointing into our windows. This of course is not controllable by the owners and once we got used to it we just looked the other way.The cabin was so lovely and well tended we would certainly rent again.PSWe were all impressed with the game cabinet. So many!My 7 year old grandson taught me how to play Battleship!A fun time.

Thank you for your thoughtful review! We’re so glad you enjoyed the cabin, its amenities, the fireplace, and the beautiful lake views. We’re sorry to hear that your experience with the neighboring property was uncomfortable. Had we been made aware of these concerns during your stay, we would have been happy to reach out to the neighbors and try to resolve the issues. We have not received any other reports regarding the neighbors since your stay. The canoes and kayaks on the property are for the owners’ personal use, which is why they are locked. There are, however, several outfitters and rental options in the Ely area for guests who would like to enjoy the lake by canoe or kayak. We’re very happy to hear you enjoyed your stay overall and would love to welcome you back!

Fabulous property with a greT Northwood feel. Fishing was excellent with Pike, Smallmouth and Sunfish. Caught many Walleye straight off the dock about 50 feet. Short 10 mile drive to Ely.
