This was our second time staying here. The cabin, sauna, and location on the lake are great to get away and relax for a week. I highly recommend this place.
Bob's place in magical. Very simple and clean. Beautifully maintained property close to town but feels far away. Very private. The sauna is BUTTER - and hopping in the cool lake is heaven on earth. Will stay here again and again!!
Idyllic setting for vacation with grandma, adult children, and grandchildren. Best sauna we’ve ever used; large dock that is perfect for jumping off after sauna. Comfy cabin. Private setting. We had the best time for the fourth year in a row. Host is helpful and generous.
We had a wonderful stay at this charming Burntside Lake property! Lovely, clean and cozy vintage cabins with 300’ of spectacular private lakefront and dock. The lake is crystal clear with stunning scenery. Wide assortment of kitchen necessities, new stove, Dish TV, comfortable beds. The owner was gracious and helpful, checked in on us several times During the week to make sure everything was going well. Would love to return!

Enjoyed talking with you, you have a wonderful family, you are welcome to come back any time.
Overall a great rustic property that I’d stay at again. The lake is the best in the state. Nice dock for fishing, boating and swimming.
There wasn’t a toaster which would’ve been nice to know. Also no bon fire pit which was a bit disappointing.
Would definitely recommend.

Sorry the toaster was in the other cabin, family member took it there and did not bring it back to the log cabin.
I was the Fire Chief for the Morse Fall Lake Volunteer Fire Department; I have seen to many fires, so there is no out side fire pit.
I enjoyed talking to you and your wife, you and the children are welcome to come back any time.
We had a wonderful time - swimming, taking daily saunas, playing games, making art, reading, relaxing and having fun together. Best dock for running and jumping into the lake. Grandkids (ages 7,4) enjoyed the freedom of running around outside by themselves, finding frogs and bugs, etc. Absolutely beautiful setting. Owner is very kind and helpful

You cleaned up the log cabin wonderfully, greatly appreciated it, come on back any time you want. The cabin is for making memories for the little people so when life gets had in later years they have good memories to carry them through to better times.
This was our second year here. such a beautiful spot, and private, even though it is a fairly busy shoreline. Enough room around it to feel it is not your typical cabin rental - you can't see another cabin or person from your perch in the house. It's rustic and minimal and that's just the way we like it. The sauna was a big draw for us since it was on the chillier side this year. The dock is perfect, you can cannonball right off of it into the clean waters of Burntside. Cabin was tidy, linens nice, and it had everything we needed to cook. We will be back, this is a gem.
This minimalist cabin was like going back to childhood at my Grandparents’ old cabin. It’s perfect, beds and linens great (that’s an issue w. some cabins but not this one.) Plenty of towels in the sauna/shower house, and room to roam a little. Gd beach/dock area and boat fun to venture out in. We actually spent 2 separate weeks here, we loved it so much. Bob is a great host! Wld def stay again!
Private, beautiful setting, favorite lake in BWCA, fantastic swimming, spacious wood burning sauna. Little kids had a blast. Terrific host. Couldn't ask for more.
Our family enjoyed the property & Bob was a great host. Plenty of outdoor space for the kids & adults, dock was good for boating & the accommodations worked out well for 4 adults & 3 small children (air mattress in living area). The screen house would be great for older kids, it was a little too far away from the main cabin to sleep our younger kids. The sauna (wood fired) & shower room is older but very functional. Main bathroom in cabin is small but works well. Outhouse is very clean if needed. I would recommend this property & Bob was great to work with. Our 2 year old granddaughter loved to talk about Bob!
We were looking for a cottage with an "old nostalgic feel" and found it with this amazing rental. We wanted to be slightly off the grid and this spot fit our needs perfectly. With covid restrictions we did not make it to Canada (where I'm from) this year yet so this spot filled our remote escape with luxury of town and ammenities nearby. Highly recommended 👍
We had a great week at Burnside. The cabin was just as described and Bob was a attentive host. Fishing wasn’t too good, besides the small bass. The location was close enough to town to be accessible, but far enough to feel remote. Overall, it was an excellent stay!
A simple property with all you need to have a complete comfortable getaway. The property is tucked down a hill in the trees so had the feel of being very private. We took our boat with us and used extensively off the dock on this incredible lake. It all went well starting with Robert greeting us on arrival and helping us unhitch and park the trailer overnight until we could launch at every the very convenient VinVac public access just down the road the next day. Only thing to be aware of is the W to WNW prevailing winds which can raise some chop but as this blows the boat off the dock . Once you get off the dock there is plenty of coves and bays upwind to get some calm. Make sure to have a GPS and a depth sounder fro exploring the lake. The sauna was a great feature and was much appreciated. Made jumping in the lake mandatory. Did not miss WiFi or poor cellular signal at all as it added to the getaway, especially for the kids.Just pulled out some board games in the evening and had a great time beating them at Monopoly!. You could always go to the end of the dock or drive 10 Mins to Ely to connect if required. Highly recommended.
It’s a story-book setting along beautiful Burntside Lake that includes: a nearly 100 year old charming cabin, sauna/shower building, screen house for additional sleeping options, and a lovely boat house/ dock. I brought along my three kids who had a blast sleeping in the screen house, fishing off the dock and playing on the beach. The property is an amazing treasure and the owner, Bob is very helpful.
Clean and cozy cabin. Very clean lake. Lots of time spent outside. You won't get any cell service, but it was nice to unplug for the week. Only downside to no service was lack of access to weather reports. Bring a radio. Close to Ely to spend a day there.

The cell phone service is available for Verzion and AT&T at two locations, one at the end of the dock the other on top of the hill on the road in front of the garage.
Very clean. Comfortable beds. Nice private beach area.

Wonderful!
We loved the cabin. We stay at cabins regurlarly for weekend getaways, vacations and during my work travels. This cabin is very likely the best value of any that I have ever rented. It’s on the water (I caught a 3.5 lb walleye from the dock), great view, privacy, very rustic, it’s everything I look for in a cabin.

A perfect spot to relax.
My husband, our son, and his two grandpas stayed here for a week and it was perfectly relaxing. The house is spotless, beds are comfortable, and the lake is gorgeous. Great for swimming, boating, fishing- nice dock. The Burntside Lodge is nearby for a great dinner and Ely is a short drive away. 3 of us slept in the screen house on mattresses and it was like camping but much nicer. We had a sauna one night and jumped in the lake. If the configuration works for your group, there's no better place to be on the lake! Great sunsets, and no sun in your eyes in the morning.
