Perfect get away

I stayed here for a couple of days with some friends and family and to say the least it was the perfect house. It covered every accommodation we needed. The house itself was so nice and the game room was incredible. The backyard is cozy, warm and spacious. Mackenzie was incredibly attentive and kind. Any one of our questions or needs she was amazing with. This is definitely a wonderful little place to stay I highly recommend.

Weekend Escape

What a perfect cottage for a weekend away for me, my mom, sister and niece (teen). The cottage is well kept, the beds are comfortable and the location was perfect for our visit to Jim Thorpe. The community was quiet during our stay and we enjoyed walks in the neighborhood, relaxing on the back porch and playing corn hole in the driveway. Wildlife abounds - we arrived to a doe and her fawns grazing in the backyard. Finally, Mackenzie was extremely responsive to all of our questions.

Perfect getaway!

We enjoyed the quaintness of this home in the Poconos! Between the perfectly set up game room to the cozy fire to the deer roaming around the neighborhood, we didn't want to leave! The host has thought of everything for the guests! Such a beautiful home with everything you could possibly want! She was so accommodating and responsive too. This place is such a gem, I almost don't want to let out the secret! We can't wait to return one day in the future.

About the host

Hosted by Mackenzie Day

Host profile image
Welcome to Love Lace Retreat! We are Bill and Mackenzie—a teacher-contractor duo paired with a Philly hair and makeup artist—and we built this home as a fresh start for our blended family.
For Mackenzie, this area and nearby Jim Thorpe have always been the ultimate escape from city hustle to catch a break in nature and hit the hiking trails. For Bill and the boys, it's all about snowboarding at Jack Frost and Big Boulder just 15 minutes away!
We combined our love for hands-on building and creative design to pack this home with non-stop fun—from our epic arcade game room and private hot tub to driveway hoops, bikes, and a fire pit for s'mores. Thank you so much for being part of our story, and we hope you make unforgettable memories here!

Why they chose this property

We chose this neighborhood because it captures everything we love about the Poconos in one perfect, peaceful location! Tucked away in a quiet, friendly community, it offers the ideal blend of serene mountain nature and active outdoor fun.

We loved that you can ride our guest bikes just 5 minutes down the road to enjoy seasonal access to the community lake, swimming pool, clubhouse, and pickleball courts—giving guests an instant resort-style feel without leaving the neighborhood.

Beyond our quiet streets, the location simply couldn't be better for exploring the region. We are centered right in the heart of the Poconos’ best attractions: just 7 minutes from the scenic hiking trails and famous Boulder Field at Hickory Run State Park, 10 minutes from the water sports at Lake Harmony, 15 minutes from the ski slopes and snow tubing at Jack Frost and Big Boulder, and 20 minutes from the historic charm, shops, and train rides of downtown Jim Thorpe.

It gives our guests the ultimate home base to experience it all!

What makes this property unique

What makes Love Lace Retreat truly unique is where quiet, cozy, homey comfort meets the ultimate family getaway. Start your mornings slow—grab a fresh Nespresso, step outside, and breathe in the crisp mountain air.

Inside, the house is thoughtfully stocked with all the essentials for everyone in the family, but the real heart of the home is our indoor-outdoor entertainment setup. Head down to the epic game room to shoot a round on the real pool table, challenge the crew to classic arcades, or pull up a seat at the bar to watch the big game on the huge TV setup. Outside, the fun continues with driveway basketball, an outdoor grill, and a quiet fire pit made for firewood, storytime, and s'mores.

When the day winds down, sink into the warm waters of the private hot tub under a sky full of stars. Whether you are here for high-energy game nights or peaceful fireside chats, Love Lace Retreat has everything you need to kick back, recharge, and feel right at home.
