About this property
Sea Haven - Charming Family Vacation Home in Chincoteague.
Located in Chincoteague, this enchanting house offers 3 cozy bedrooms - one with a king bed, one with a queen bed, and a bunk bed and full bed in the third. With 3 bathrooms featuring showers, guests can freshen up after a day of exploring. The living room with a comfy futon provides additional space for relaxation. Our place will help you feel at home while you're traveling in Chincoteague.
This house has been updated since it was built in 1905, but you will still experience the charm of original floors and original grocery store shelves. As a historic home, it does have some quirks, but you can’t beat the luxury of spacious and updated bathrooms, and a kitchen with stainless steel appliances.
The home decor has been put together with a view of comfort, historical interest and functionality. We want the house to be able to tell its story, and we want you to have a delightful stay. The shelves in the dining room are the original shelves from its days as a grocery store. We’ve added some vintage antique grocery items to give our guests an impression of what it may have contained in 1905. There are still islanders who will tell stories about buying treats there when they were children.
The master suite opens to a balcony with a view of Chincoteague Bay. The avocado king mattress is the perfect place to rest after a day exploring Assateague Island and watching ponies in the marsh. The triple bunk was added with a view towards children spending endless nights telling stories and jokes to each other. The Queen bedroom offers comfort and peace to refresh for the next day's excursions.
The three season porch boasts a futon for an extra sleeping space and an air hockey table for rainy days. The living room tv has a vintage Wii game for fun family evenings. There is a waterfront park thirty minutes walk away with a swing to watch the sunset, let the dogs play, or put in your kayaks.
We’ve taken some liberties with the idea of an “eat-in kitchen” and decided to add a “coffee shop” feel with a full couch, and old fashioned crate coffee table complete with board games.
