Great location

This house was amazing. Girls trip and it was so convenient to Uber to the downtown area. Bedrooms had comfortable beds. Kitchen was stocked with all you would need to cook if you desired. Thank you Sherri for sharing your home

Perfect for up to 8 guests

The property is as advertised, and worked well for our family of 8 for the weekend. Great location to downtown in a quiet neighborhood. Owner was very responsive and left detailed instructions for the home. Would stay here again!

Fun change of scenery

My family and I went to Austin for a long weekend. I’m a Texas Alumni so it’s always fun going back to Austin, even named my son after the city. The kids and our dog LOVED the house. They didn’t want to leave. Check in and out process was easy. The hot tub was perfect for a long day of walking around UT campus. Our dog loved exploring both the front and back yards. The home had everything we needed. Will definitely rent again for another fun weekend in Austin.

Great central stay in Austin

Had a great weekend getaway at this house which was close to downtown. All the amenities needed, very comfy, and Sherri was prompt in answering any questions that came up.

Perfect house for 4 adults

We were in town for a family event. 2 adult sisters, our 73 year old mother, and 68 year old uncle. We enjoyed the open common area downstairs for catching up, laughing, and sharing stories. When it was time for bed, we appreciated each having our own bedroom for rest and sleep. Only inconvenience was that one of the 2 full bathrooms was having plumbing issues and the shower could only ne used for 3 minutes. Not great with 3 women in the house who all had to share 1 bathroom.

Great property in a great location

I came to Austin with 4 friends for the Moto GP. We needed 5 separate sleeping areas and this property worked perfectly. Spacious, well appointed and a great location. Near downtown and South Congress, but not in the middle of all of the traffic. The owner, Sherri, was available, helpful and very responsive. I would highly recommend this property.

We had 2 families stay for a weekend and the house was very comfortable and clean, and well furnished with basic kitchen gear. Great location - 10 min from downtown and 5 min from Soco neighborhood. It's a quiet neighborhood and a kid friendly house.

Perfect Stay

This was my first experience with HomeAway and it was a great one! Sherri was so great and accomodating and we loved the home. We had a group of 8 for a bachelorette party and staying here was perfect. We loved that we were all together in one place and the home had everything that we could have possibly needed. Sherri was always very responsive and I would definitely look this place up again if headed back to Austin with a large group. You're not far from major attractions and highways and have the advantage of staying in a comfortable homey place in a quiet neighborhood. The exterior was a little overgrown, but the interior was perfect.

Exactly what we were looking for!!!

Great weekend

Greatly enjoyed our stay. We were in town for UT graduation weekend and had multiple family members. The house was spacious and accommodating for all of us. The location is superb for access to 35. Five minutes to South Congress area, five minutes to downtown. The traffic in Austin has gotten out of control but we were able to navigate back ways through East Austin and it was great. I brought my two small dogs and the house was very pet friendly. The owner went out of her way to let us get into the house early and was easily reachable with any questions.

Beautiful Home on the Inside

The house was beautiful on the inside. The outside could use more TLC. The grass was not mowed and the outside was dirty. The inside of the home was beautifully decorated, although the house was very dusty. We were very comfortable in the four bedrooms. The wifi and the AC worked very well and we had enough space to not be on top of each other. The one negative I would have to give, the coffee maker had not been cleaned in a while and it had mold on the inside and on the filter. After our stay, I was able to keep in touch with the home owner who looked for some lost items for me. She also mailed an earring I had left at the house. Ms. Sherry is very friendly and kind. She was there when we arrived and left very detailed direction on how to use the cable and the internet.

Comfortable and Centrally Located

The location for this home was perfect for our needs. Just about 10 minutes from the airport, downtown, and nearby shopping and restaurants. The house is situated on a quiet street, shaded by a large tree. The four bedrooms were nice size, with a TV in the master. Beds were very comfortable, and the sheets were extremely nice! The owner was very accommodating and made the extra effort to move a bed downstairs for my elderly mother who doesn't do well with stairs. The wifi and TV in the living room all worked great. The kitchen was well-equipped, with everything needed for preparing meals, with adequate freezer and refrigerator space. We would definitely stay at this home again.

Hello there! I have lived in the wonderful city of Austin since 1983 (I wasn't born here, but I got here as quick as I could!) I have seen tremendous growth in Austin and, although I sometimes miss the old Austin, the bigger and better Austin has so much more to offer! I come from a huge family (7 siblings) and most of my family lives here. WELCOME!

Why they chose this property

I think if you love a city, you should live as close to the heart of it as you can. When I purchased this house, friends and family though I should have gotten something in a quiet suburb. Twenty years ago, my neighborhood was a little 'iffy'. Now it still has all the charm of an old downtown neighborhood and I come and go at all hours of the night (using a little common sense, of course!) with no worries! I love that it is so close to everything, especially with the easy access to the Interstate (35), old downtown and the airport.

What makes this property unique

I am currently without pets, but I fenced my front yard almost as soon as I moved in because I wanted my collie, Zeus, to be able to keep an eye out for unwanted visitors. (Turned out, he was the friendliest dog ever and loved everyone, so I decided to put in a security system; in other words, he was fired from his job of 'security'. ;-| ) So Zeus is no longer around except in spirit, but the alarm remains! My house is named Zeus in his sweet memory. Many dogs and cats and other critters have enjoyed his space since!
