About this property
Immaculate 3-bedroom/3-bath 3000 sqft. home in luxurious Florida golf community
Located in the beautiful Rosedale Golf Community, The Nest's high ceilings, crown molding, chandeliers, tasteful artwork, open floor plan, heated pool with tinkling spa waterfall and stereo throughout provide for stylish and comfortable living and entertaining.
Morning sunlight warms the pool and breakfast nook. while sunset graces the more formal dinner dining area.
A large living room welcomes guests and the separate family room with 65" flat screen TV and entertainment system can accommodate a Super Bowl party as easily as a quiet movie for two.
Living and family rooms have direct access to the pool and lanai, as does the master bedroom. The rear study that overlooks the pond and pool affords a quiet office with a sunny view during the day and easy access to the kitchen without disturbing sleepers at night.
The lanai has plenty of space for sun bathing/reclining/stretching/working out as well as poolside grilling and dining. The illuminated, 2 to 4 ft deep heated pool and adjacent spa invite reinvigoration at any time of day or night.
A beautiful, fully applianced kitchen with multiple countertops includes an island with a second sink for easy food preparation by 1 to 3 chefs.
The ocean themed bedrooms comfortably sleep 6 while the pull-out sofa in the study enables another 2 guests to spend the night with privacy.
The master bedroom suite includes a sitting alcove, walk-through closet, a large bathroom with separate shower, bath/jacuzzi and toilet room. It has its own flat screen television with an independent cable box, DVD player and a Bose clock/radio with alarm.
The two guest bedrooms have clock radios with alarms, double sized and twin sized beds and share a bathroom within a guest suite that has separate climate control.
The third bathroom serves the living areas and pool. A laundry room with washer, dryer, folding table, sink, extra refrigerator/freezer and storage cabinets, connects to a 2.5 car garage through a separate door.
A pack&play crib, high-chair, removable wheelchair ramp for the front door, shower and toilet grab bars and an available over-toilet hospital-style seat/bedside commode make The Nest both convenient and safe for the youngest and oldest guests.
Dual-zone air conditioning/heating, dehumidification and on-demand hot water provide a flexible, continuously comfortable living environment year-round, while the home alarm system with private security code and poolfront door alarms give additional peace-of-mind.
Cable TV, broadband WiFi and system cable connections to the modem are available. The entertainment system that supplies separately adjustable sound to the family room, living room and lanai includes a DVD player and accommodates laptop and game console input via HDMI cable.
An easy to read guidebook to home appliances, systems and local services and contact information is on hand. Three sets of multi-occasion tableware and glassware, a wide range of utensils together with hotel quality linens, bed clothing and a selection of complimentary Keurig coffees complete the luxury touch.
Rosedale is a well manicured, gated community with a full time security guard, 18 hole golf course, and a country club with 5 tennis courts. a fitness center and a restaurant that provides fine cuisine within walking distance or a 2 minute drive.
The community has very modest automobile and golf cart traffic which makes the roads and paths well-suited for walking, jogging and cycling. Our neighbors tend to be older professional retirees who are pleasant and respectful. There are quite a number of pets but few children living in Rosedale. Child visitors are most certainly welcome (though noise and rambunctious behavior are not).

The Region (see web links)
Sarasota-Bradenton is sub-tropical, slightly cooler than Miami, with lots of sun. From April to October, the temperature is typically in the range 80-93 deg F ( *** deg C). This period is ideal for in-water beach and pool activities. There are frequent showers that may be heavy but are short-lasting. From November to March, temperatures are in the range 50-80. Evenings are typically cool and there is little rain. The air is very fresh and there is often some breeze. The climate is ideal for outdoor recreation including some swimming, especially in heated pools. While precautionary evacuations for hurricanes have been ordered twice in the past 13 years, Sarasota and Bradenton have experienced no major damage.
Aside from the white sand beaches that are considered by many to be among the nicest in the country, if not the world [ref], The Sarasota-Bradenton region has excellent opera, theater and museums as well as innumerable restaurants for inside and outside dining. The area is home to a large number of boutiques, malls and outlet stores. Dining and shopping are clearly favorite regional pastimes.

About the host
Hosted by Steve and Hans Massaquoi

Joan Elizabeth Massaquoi was a retired administrator at the University of Chicago who bought her Nest as a retreat for herself and her two sons Steve and Hans who now operate the home. Steve and Hans continue to visit The Nest with their families each year.
The Massaquois have many friends throughout the U.S. and abroad. We welcome guests of all backgrounds. We speak English, German, Mandarin, a bit of French and we're always trying to expand our Spanish.

Why they chose this property
After years of visiting the Florida Gulf Coast from Chicago, our mother purchased The Nest because of the nearby beautiful beaches and perpetual sun, the many local activities, extensive shopping and dining, as well as its particularly convenient airline access and its central, yet still coastal location in Florida. It is less than four hours drive from Jacksonville, St Augustine and Miami and less than two hours from Naples, Ft. Myers and Orlando. It has provided our family with the perfect, easy getaway location for years. We always look forward to visiting.
What makes this property unique
Rosedale has matured into a very pleasant, quiet oasis in the midst of an exciting, continuously growing and enjoyable region.
