Welcome to our Woodland Cottage where serenity awaits your arrival. Watch the daily deer & fawn parade, or the swallowtails happily fluttering from flowering tree to flowering bush on this 1.79-acre property. Bunnies, squirrels, and turtles are also residents and birds are abundant. An easy .5-mile hike down to the Eno River on a lovely, wooded path is just one of many walks in this friendly neighborhood. Durham is the perfect destination for exploring historical sights, biking, kayaking, bird watching, pickleball, golf, fine and casual dining and to enjoy boutique shopping downtown. It is only 1.7 miles to area restaurants, Starbucks, Grocery and Drug Stores. The Cottage was built in 1951 and has been recently updated to feel fresh and new. The front porch, yard and garden are also welcoming and provide additional spaces to relax.

It was perfect for what we needed. I sat on the porch each morning and watched the deer and cardinals on the front lawn. The host communicated quickly whenever we had a question. I will return next time I am in the area.

This precious cottage is comfortable, well-stocked with kitchen and bath essentials, excellent tv and streaming, parking, cozy beds, outside areas, and was an excellent location for us visiting family over the Christmas holiday! We will absolutely book another stay when we visit our family there. The hosts were welcoming, available if needed, and had even decorated the cottage for Christmas, a most delightful touch!!!

Our stay was fantastic at this adorable cottage. We were happy to have such a cozy spot to spend some recovery time between outings and doings. It's close enough to downtown Durham to keep you able to get out and explore, but far enough away that it's quiet. The beds were comfortable, the linens were nice and I was exceptionally happy for a full size coffee pot instead of a Keurig. If we're ever in the Durham area again we will absolutely look to stay here for our visit.

Lovely cottage

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Properly supplied, comfortable beds, and very clean. Quiet neighborhood. Would highly recommend! Host is very friendly and helpful.

We just returned from our second stay at this wonderful cottage, and it was every bit as fantastic as the first time. The home was exactly as described. It was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped for a relaxing getaway. It proved perfect once again for our visit with relatives in Durham, offering just the right balance of privacy and convenience.The location is ideal. It is secluded enough to feel peaceful and immersed in nature, yet close to everything we needed. We especially enjoyed sitting on the porch in the afternoons, watching the deer parade right in front of us. This time we also hiked to the nearby Eno River, which is relatively easy to access from the property.The owner was once again fantastic to work with. She checked in after our arrival, making sure everything was perfect. Her responsiveness and thoughtfulness make us happy to rent the property.If you're looking for a quiet escape in Durham that's comfortable and well-maintained, we highly recommend this cottage. We'll be back for a third stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at this very nice cottage in Durham! The home was exactly as described, clean, comfortable, and perfect for our Thanksgiving visit with our son. While the cottage is near a neighborhood, it still feels somewhat secluded and peaceful. The balance of privacy and convenience was even better than we expected.The owner was great to work with. She was very responsive, helpful, and low-key. She checked in after we arrived and answered questions quickly, which made everything easy.Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and we would definitely stay here again!

The house was exactly as described. It has everything you need and comfy beds. While the address and the actual location are a little off, if you follow the directions shared when you get the welcome email, you should be able to find it a block away from the Maps location.

This is our second annual Easter stay at the cottage but the first for our adult daughter, who us a seasoned world traveler! She has nothing but rave reviews for the property. Debbie has thought of every little extra touch from laundry pods to an umbrella! The kitchen is very well equipped and the beds are comfortable with perfect pillows. I was able to sit at the desk and wrap my Easter gifts for the grands? Who loved the basket of snacks lovingly left in the kitchen! The motion detector lights were the perfect "welcome home" for us geriatric residents each night on our return home at dark! We will return year after year to celebrate in style! Thanks

Lovely area

The cottage is on a great little street, off the road. It’s quiet and has lots of space outside. It was very clean and it is well appointed. There was a misunderstanding about something, and I could not reach the owners until the second day I was there in the mid afternoon. That was unfortunate. But by the third morning, it was remedied and the next two days were fine. I’d recommend clearer communication and availability when someone is checking in. Otherwise, it’s a very sweet cottage and would be a great place for anyone to stay for a little while in exploring Durham.
