Terrible!!!
I realize this may be a historic home but that’s no excuse for the condition we found it in. Cleaning lady was still there after listed check in time. Floors were dirty with hair in the bathroom floor and tub. A/C wasn’t working properly and when contact was made with host he said he would come check it but he was “far out of town”. I asked if someone could check it out on Sunday he said yes but we saw no one. Host NEVER followed up with us about A/C. Host said cooking could cause the temp to rise in the house but we ate out no use of stove /oven. Had to open windows to attempt to cool the house to less than 78 degrees. Screens on windows had tears in them not a comfort for bugs and other creatures that could crawl in. Steps in home are extremely steep. Beds were metal frames with foam mattress that felt like rocks. Washcloths were stained with thin towels provided. There was also a stain on bedspread in main bedroom. Remote for TV upstairs was missing when host was asked about this he said just to use the one remote for both TVs on different level?!? When the drawers were opened in the first bedroom where you enter the home some man’s dirty underwear were in the top drawer and I wasn’t about to remove them! We have used VRBO for years and have never experienced anything this horrible!!! Safe yourself some pain and stay down the road at the Best Western we did and that’s the only thing that saved our trip! Stay away from this property!
