Great property!

This home is a wonderful property for a group of friends and family. For close to the town to get grocery’s and secluded enough where you feel like you’re in your own getaway! The owners were lovely and very responsive. Will stay here again!

Beautiful property

Great for big families. Easy to get to and lovely location. Not handicapped accessible on main floor do 2 stairways. But lower level with bathroom and 2 bedrooms, living space. Owners were great!

Incredible property!

This home was above expectations. Spent 2 nights while in the area for a 10K run. Plenty of room and amenities. Really enjoyed the unique aspects of the property. Had a great soak in the large hot tub after our run. Only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. Would definitely stay here again when visiting the area.

Woooowww.... what a fantastic Gem, nestled in the serene locals of Port Tobacco, in Southern Maryland. Now I'm a Native Marylander, and I've visited every corner in the State, even nearby Nanjamoy, but this was a real treat for my family's recent Thanksgiving getaway. Absolutely top tier hosting and support, where needed, for any issues during our stay. Space, and more space with very comfortable amenities both up and downstairs in this marvel. Very clean inside and also within the outside property boundaries. Close enough to local stores for any needed supplies, but far enough away from any of the outside world's "busyness". Walking to the local park, and visiting the American Bald Eagle enclave, which is practically across the street from the Lodge, is a real treat for Nature hikes with a purpose. We will definitely be revisiting this property in late May 2026, for the Inaugural NHRA Potomac Nationals, at Maryland International Raceway, which is about 20 miles away!! SMC

Beautiful property but extremely uncomfortable

When we first arrived we were excited as the property is quite lovely at first glance. The hot tub is awesome and the location of the home is ideal. There is a neat koi pond off the porch, and the outdoor seating was ample. The first issue we discovered is there are ring cameras pointed directly at the hot tub. This was uncomfortable for us as we had children in our group and we were not happy with the idea of cameras directly on them. Other issues we encountered were the limited seating in the living areas and what is available is extremely uncomfortable . The couches have slabs of wood under the cushions where they have reinforced aging furniture. The listing states the home sleeps 12, but there was not living or kitchen seating for 12 people. The beds are extremely uncomfortable as well. The last major issue we had was the lack of usable cookware. I had to go and buy a pot big enough to cook pasta in as there was nothing above a small sauce pan available. The baking sheet available had coating flaking off.There were very few cooking utensils and they were all flimsy plastic that started to melt in a hot pan. To spite the uncomfortable accommodations, the host was kind and responded to inquiries we had before our stay promptly. We had overlooked a policy regarding the number of pets allowed and the host did not charge us extra for bringing our three small dogs when they brought to our attention after the stay that only one pet was allowed. This was appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We genuinely appreciate all guests insights and they help improve and provide better experience. But I must address several inaccuracies in your review. There are two ring cameras located at each entry point. These cameras are there for security reasons for our family and guests; and are mentioned on the listing. You are not able to see directly in the jacuzzi. Additionally, you mentioned about the couches. This is misleading; the amenities you referenced are accurately listed and well maintained. As per the bed, these mattresses are fairly new and we haven’t had any other complaints. If you had taken the time to review the listing details prior to booking, you would have seen exactly what to expect. Pictures don’t lie! The listing clearly says 1 pet allowed but you did not followed the rules and brought 3 at no additional charge. This caused us additional cleaning charges. It’s unfortunate that you chose not to communicate any concerns during your stay such as needing a bigger pot. We would’ve guided to where to look or even provide you with one. We understand that every guest’s experience is unique and this is why I always encourage guests to reach out as we provided you with our telephone numbers, if they encounter any issues, as we are committed to ensuring a positive experience. If you found anything lacking, a simple message during your stay would’ve resolved it promptly.
