This 3 season cozy cottage is nestled near the forest and features a breathtaking view of Faraday Trout Lake, in Bancroft, On. The cottage sleeps up to 5 people. It features 2 bedrooms: 1st bedroom includes a queen bed, and 2nd includes a set of bunkbeds and 1 single bed. The cottage comes equipped with a full kitchen with small and large appliances, a bathroom including a shower, and a fully furnished interior for guests to relax and enjoy. Attached to this cottage is a wonderful deck with patio furniture and propane BBQ, and dock with rowboat to enjoy those wonderful summer afternoons. As of the spring of 2013, this cottage received a facelift to the bathroom, with a new ceramic tiled shower, a new pedestal sink, and a toilet. The kitchen is equipped with both small and large appliances, including a Kurig coffee maker, dishes and cutlery, and pots and pans. This cottage has a brand new swimming platform for guest swimming and tanning enjoyment. All of our cottages include satellite TV and DVD players. Also included is a dock with rowboat. Life jackets or (PFD's) are available for both adults and children in limited sizes upon request. We also provide a paddleboat and firepit, which are shared amongst the cottages.
General Area
Located on private lakefront property on Faraday Lake, which is about 4.9 miles from Bancroft. The shoreline is composed of sandy beach and rocky, picturesque areas. We are very particular about keeping both the interior and exterior areas clean, safe, and updated for all ages. Each cottage is completely private, with natural woodland surrounding each one.

Equipment Provided
Each cottage is fully equipped with modern indoor plumbing, hot and cold running water, and showers. All cottages feature a colour TV, AM/FM radio, Keurig coffee maker, small appliances, and microwave. A conventional stove and fridge are also provided with rental. Our cottages contain either wood burning stoves or electrical heaters. There is a propane BBQ included with the rental of each cottage. All cottages come equipped with their own aluminum or fiberglass rowboat and dock. There is one paddleboat to be shared by guests. Campfires can be arranged at a safe private outdoor pit near the shoreline (provincial restrictions may apply).
This reservation has a flexible cancellation policy - refunds will be issued up to 30 days prior to the check-in date.
A 100% refund is provided for travelers canceling at least 30 days before check-in. A 50% refund is provided for travelers canceling from 14 to 29 days before check-in. No refunds are provided for travelers canceling less than 14 days prior to check-in. CanadaStays Booking fees are refundable if you cancel within 48 hours of placing your booking request.
Our house rules: The primary renter must be 25 or older, no smoking, no parties or events, and pets permitted.
No smoking inside the cottage and no buts will be permitted to be disposed of on property.
We don't allow excessive drinking or load music on the property.
A max of 2 pets cottage are allowed, all animal must be picked up and disposed of on outside of property.
All garbage and recyclables must be removed upon departure and taken to the local Faraday Township dump in clear garbage bags.
We provide a Temporary dump pass and kit. The Facility is now charging for Temporary dump pass. This is included within the cleaning fee.

Cozy Getaway

Perfect cozy cottage for a group of 4 or 5. We swam off the dock, went fishing and kayaking during the day, and had a nice campfire in the evenings. Located on a beautiful lake!! Highly recommend!

Family getaway

We had an amazing time at The Hideaway this week. Kids went swimming and fishing all day off the dock. Kitchen had everything we needed. Bathroom was clean with a spacious shower. There's a tv that we never used because it was so beautiful outside but wifi worked well. Just a perfect family getway in a beautiful setting.

Enjoyable stay

We enjoyed our stay at the Hide Away cottage. It was clean, comfortable and a wonderful retreat for our short, 2-night stay. We were bummed to find only a Keurig coffee maker as we had our specialty ground coffee with us so we had to borrow pods from Glynis. We took a lovely morning walk in the woods and enjoyed a perfect, peaceful day on the dock. The water was gorgeous and my son’s first swim in a lake was as memorable as it should be. Our hot water heater stopped working but Glynis got plumbers to come get it back on track right away. We had some concerns with the deck railings which seemed minimally anchored and unfortunately, the BBQ is quite old and does not have any flame control so all our dinners were grilled on the outside and finished in the oven. We enjoyed the fire pit each evening but the uneven, rocky shoreline was somewhat difficult to navigate, especially in the dark. A few small improvements including a new BBQ, solar lighting and a handrail on the staircase would elevate the space and property to match the fabulous dock. Overall we enjoyed our short cottage vacation and we were especially thankful for the beautiful scenery and perfect weather.

A wonderful private getaway for family

The Hideaway is a special place to stay that feels like your own! The property was so private, even with neighbours next door, we really felt like we were secluded. The Hideaway is the end lot, so no one else is beside it at the end of the lake - so private and quiet! We could hear and see some boats in the larger part of the lake but no real boat traffic besides a jet ski and a boat from across the lake. We stayed 5 nights and had fires 4 of them. The firepit is by the lake and was perfect for our family, including the dogs. Loved the dock! We used the dock daily for sunbathing, jumping into the lake (no weeds!!), and had our coffee there in the morning. The dogs loved being on it! I was even able to spend time watching a family of 5 loons close to the dock. The rowboat was fun to use and we got a lot of use out of the shared paddleboat to tour around the lake. There were 15 ducks swimming in the waterlilies off the dock, some roads and frogs, and a garter snake. Barely any bugs - never even got out our bug spray. The cottage itself is really great! We had dinners outside on the deck, used the BBQ most days and the oven a couple of times. Everything worked well. The beds were great for all of us. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook basic meals. As for the bathroom, the shower has decent water pressure and the toilet has a confident flush lol We really did love our time here and wouldn't hesitate to book the Hideaway again!

Great Place

This cottage was tucked away in the woods by the river, with a great view. Quiet and peaceful. The hosts were very accommodating and helpful. Very pleasant and friendly people. Would definitely go back again. Loved that there was a row boat available for each cottage to use.

Great for a short getaway

Great little cottage for relaxing - the dock and patio are lovely. Owner was very quick and responsive to questions. I was surprised when we arrived to find out that the water is not potable. Not a big deal, but it would have been good to know in advance and avoid the drive back into Bancroft.

Great stay

The cottage was delightful - great private view of the lake from the dock along with a charming deck with BBQ. Glynnis and Eric were wonderful hosts and greeted us over the weekend.

Nice cottage with great location

We spent 2 days in this cottage, very well located with a nice view on the lake. The place is quiet, surrounded by forest. The cottage itself is small, and somehow old fashion, but well equipped. There is a big gaz barbecue on the balcony, working very well. The owners are kind and nice.

This cottage has a large swim platform for our guests to swim off with clean clear water with no weeds and a sandy bottom.
