Property is licenced with the Township of Lake of Bays STR-2026-3
Note: Our cottage is one we actively use on the weekends, so expect it to have a lived-in feel (versus 'property-managed'). That said, we keep it clean and tidy and expect you to do the same :)
You sip a morning java in the cozy grip of an oversized Muskoka Chair, and stare out across the glassy tranquil of Camp Lake. The mist dissipates as the sun labours its slow ascent to blue skies above, and slowly warms the morning air. The silence of the moment is interrupted, just briefly, as an eager trout leaps from the water and ushers in the dawn of a new day. Or was it a Bass? It quickly darts towards the deep, rocky shore, past the dock, and dives deep into the clearness of the loch.
It's likely that you waded through this same watery path just the night before, indulging in a midnight swim, accompanied solely by a full moon, and the awesome beauty of the Northern Lights that twinkled high in the night sky like a rippling blanket of silver and blue satin. Had it not been for these luminescent companions, you may have struggled to climb through the darkness, up the winding steps, back to the cottage and the warm glow of the campfire; the songs, rising with the sparks and fireflies, into the glistening night sky.
This morning, those same steps lead you back. Back from the dock, which overlooks the diving raft and the reflection of the azure sky in the lake? Up past the lower deck, where a rouged canoe sits restfully against a towering Hemlock. It winds up the steps to the two-tiered, upper deck as the loons bark a song in the background, to the story-and-a-half Muskokan refuge at the top of the slope, nestled under a canopy of evergreens. You enjoy a leisurely breakfast and ponder the contents of the day ahead. Some fishing? Golf? Horseback riding? Perhaps a simple hike and a swim? Whatever you choose, you know it will be just what you needed, far from the bustle of the city and from the daily worries of life. In the grip of this Muskoka Chair, the day looks perfect. And what else would you expect from a place as magical, as wonderful, as Camp Lake?
