This was a great stay! Heads up: there are steep stairs that divide the home & no screens on the windows. The garden lights did not turn on. Bring heaters or fans. The views were amazing and there's a sea world light show you can catch right from the porch. The garden is a blessing!
We enjoyed our stay at Canyon Ranch. Location was perfect and the house is close to everything. It was very easy to communicate with Michael and we found him to be a great host. House is very spacious with the wonderful view all around. All and all, we will again stay at this property next time we are in San Diego.
Highly recommend this home! It was well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Excellent communication from Michael, easy check-in and check-out. Great location, the kitchen was better equipped than my home.
Definitely one of the best VRBOs we've stayed in! Our group of 9 adults had a fabulous Thanksgiving holiday in this inviting home with a MCM vibe. The kitchen was extremely well-stocked. The 5 large bedrooms have comfortable beds. Two lounging spaces, each with a working fireplace! Interesting artwork all around. Beautiful city views from both floors. The host responds to messages within minutes. Highly recommend!
We definitely enjoyed our time ad found our host, Michael. to be very attentive and responsive. The house was clean, spacious and has a breathtaking view. It is also very close to stores, shopping, entertainment and Sea World.
The property was in a great location with amazing views of Mission Bay and the ocean. 15 minutes from everything we wanted to do. Michael the host was very responsive to any needs we had. Whilnifamily had a great time.
You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay at this property! The views are even better than the photos, the grounds are immaculate, and the house itself is an amazing throwback to a bygone era. We had ten and were more than comfortable. Host Michael is on top of everything and gives great suggestions for food and outing options, just ask.
Great house for a family gathering with kids. Location is terrific. House is older but in good condition and plenty of room for everyone. Downstairs family room allows kids to hang out and socialize while adults can enjoy each other upstairs. Host was very responsive to one small maintenance matter.
We had a great stay in this home! It was close to everything we needed. We were in the area for the Marine Corp graduation and it was close to the MCRD. We went to the beach and restaurants close by. The house is dated but the views were incredible! We had a 3 year old with us and there were a few too many exits outside for our comfort. But he enjoyed the fenced garden. May be the only time we ever stay in a home where we ate fresh kale and carrots from the garden! And the host brought us beautiful fresh eggs from the chickens.
The house was a bit dated but the grounds and views were gorgeous. All the bedrooms, and towels were clean. Not all the closets in the bedrooms were accessible for hanging up clothes. The refrigerator had food residue, the coffee pot had not been cleaned, and the kitchen counters were sticky. The host was friendly and attentive.

Disliked: Location, listing accuracy
I hate leaving bad reviews, but I could not avoid this one. No where on the description nor on previous reviews is it mentioned that this house is directly under the flight path to the airport. The description states that is is near the airport, no doubt about that because you can hear all 450-500 flights directly passing above the house. We were unable to hang out on the patio or enjoy the backyard as it was just simply too noisy. The flights end at 11:30pm and start right back up at 6:30am. The house is also very outdated. The only new items in the house are the refrigerator, sink and dishwasher. There isn't even a microwave. The kitchen wasn't as clean as we would have liked and the upstairs bathroom tub/shower had mildew and mold - definitely needs to be re-caulked and desperately needs a new shower curtain. We did love all the space in the house and all the bedrooms were large and spacious. The house could be a very cool house, very retro, but even if it were completely updated you would still have the issues with the flights flying directly over the house.

Hi JP,
I’m sorry to hear that your stay did not result in a 5-star experience, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. Over the past 8 years, I’ve had the pleasure of hosting thousands of guests and consistently strive to provide a high-quality experience for everyone.
I always encourage guests to reach out during their stay if anything is not meeting expectations. The concerns you mentioned could have been resolved quickly had I been made aware, as I’m always happy to provide assistance right away. Unfortunately, the proximity to the airport is something beyond my control.
I appreciate your feedback and will continue working to ensure a great experience for future guests.
The property was great. The floors were dirty and sticky when I arrived so I spent the first 2 hours, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming. But other than that an overall good experience.
Great location and lots of room. Wonderful view from the deck and could watch the sunset into the ocean. You can even see the Sea World light show from the deck. If staying in the area, I would stay here again. Place had lots of towers and even beach towels which was handy since we went to the beach one day. All the equipment worked as expected.
