Within 15' walking distance from the east Venetian fortification of the Old Town, lies Halepa, the most beautiful and historic district of Chania. With a tradition of hosting the aristocracy of the previous century of Chania, Halepa still gives a person the same feeling of that period, as many mansions have been preserved. At the most privileged location of this district Casa di Christina welcomes you for a memorable stay.
CASA CHRISTINA
The apartment (in a small family owned 3 floors building) is a maisonette with five balconies. With uninhibited view from all balconies one can feel miles away from the city, even though the location is just 5' driving distance from the center of Chania!
Opposite the house is the "palace" (the residence of Prince George at the beginnings of the 20th century), the old French Academy, and the Museum of El. Venizelos, which used to be his residence and now has been restored and is open to the public. Behind the house is the Russian church Agia Magdalini and only 200 meters away lies the sea and the famous location of "Tabakaria".

THE AREA:
One can enjoy long walks around the area. Within 3' minutes walking distance one can visit Tabakaria, the place where the tanneries used to operate in the 19th century. Tabakaria, nowadays declared as a monument of industrial archaeology, is the most exclusive and therefore most expensive real estate land in the city of Chania. In case you have young children the garden of Agia Magdalini, can be an ideal place to stroll and a secure spot for children to safely play around! Walking down El. Venizelou street, only 100 meters away from the house, there is a small park alongside the street from where one can enjoy a panoramic view of the sea and the city of Chania; as it looks towards the west, it is a spot promising unforgettable sunsets. Worthwhile mentioning is that Halepa will host the new Archaeological Museum of Chania (200 meters from the house), which is in a transitional status; it is ready but still not open to the public, as the exhibits have not moved there yet.
In the area there are cafes, supermarket and restaurants, some with the most amazing view. Last, but not least, within a few minutes walking distance from the house there are some places for a quick dip into the sea ("Koum Kapi", "Kouloura", "Honoloulou"), even though it goes without saying that one should rent a car to visit the top beaches which lie at the west and the south part of the island!
Places i love in the area:
Cafe Dagli (the best coffee in town)
Thalassino Ageri (the most romantic spot for a dinner at the time of the sunset, located at Tabakaria)
Blue (the best place to enjoy tapas and sea view!! ideal at the time of the sunset)
Studio ON (a very exceptional artspace hosting a cafe right at the sea front)
Accessibility:
Exactly opposite the building's main entrance there is a bus station and the public transportation is very frequent.
One can also easily walk along the sea towards the city center (15' - 20' walking distance from the Venetian Old Town).
There is always availability for free parking at the street of Dagli (opposite the entrance of the house).
