Joanna Villa, a magnificent historic villa with private pool

Joanna villa is 200 sq.m, surrounded by a beautiful garden, of which a great part is covered by grass, where you will find a 45 sq.m. pool with an integral children’s pool and a barbecue. The villa has two shaded entrances, both of them under stone arches, where you can relax away from the hot sun of the summer midday.

The villa has three floors. At the ground floor you will find the living room with the stone walls and the fireplace, the fully equipped kitchen and a wc. On the first floor there are one twin bedroom with a private balcony overlooking the pool and one double bedroom with a four-poster bed and an en suite bathroom with toilet and jacuzzi. The same bedroom has a door that opens to a terrace with stairs leading to the pool. On the same floor you will also find a bathroom with toilet and shower room with hydro massage.

The entire second floor is a bedroom with a four-poster bed and a veranda with sea view. All bedrooms have TV, AC and closet.

Lovely relaxing stay in Joanna Villa

Our stay was really great and very relaxing, accommodation was immaculate and the owner met us in the middle of the night to show us around, they were very kind and caring and shared their home grown fruit with us, they were very accommodating and were there for advice if needed.

Beautiful house, amazing pool - good for car free holiday

Lovely three bed house a little off the beaten track above Maleme. Cab from the airport cost 55 Euro.It's in a group of smallholdings, so lots of trees and chickens and great views of the stars. The rooms are large and with balconies and pool make for a lot of space. Minimarket 7 mins walk away for essentials, beach 15. Hosts are really welcoming and helpful. Had a lovely week with no car. It's easy to get the bus to Chania or Plataniais for days out, and we had a lovely walk along the back roads to a local vaulted tomb. A very chilled area compared to the main resorts closer to the sea so good for people who like a bit of countryside peace.

Very well maintained and owners concerned that everything should be perfect. Lovely pool and BBQ are great fun for children. Well positioned for exploring Chania and the pretty Western Crete beaches - car a must.

The internet information on the Joanna villa was an understatement. The villa, the swimmingpool and the garden well exceeded our expectations. Lots of space, very fresh and clean, luxurious and traditional in the best meaning. The premises are fantastic and do not need any improvement (with exception of the plumbing, which does not match the very elegant bathrooms). The verandas and balconies were fantastic and very useful as they offered the right choice of sun and shade during the day. We rented a car at the airport and used it well. There are dozens of amazing excursions in the vicinity and the hostess helped us finding those, that the guidbooks did not mention. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

A totally brilliant honeymoon

We chose Villa Joanna for our honeymoon, and we weren't disappointed. The villa is stunning, and the photos do not do it justice. Everything was immaculate and beautifully presented and after only a few days the place felt like home. The brick BBQ kept Carl happy, and the pool was perfect for cooling off in. The owners, Lefteris and Joanna, couldn't do more for us - they were lovely, giving us fresh vegetables and looking after us. We cannot express enough how highly we rate the villa and the hospitality of the owners, and we hope to visit again to celebrate our anniversary next year.

First class villa

I truly lovely villa, clean, well equiped and wonderfully maintained. We loved the position, Maleme is pretty quiet which is what we wanted but if you want more life then Platanias, which is only 2km or so down the road, has everything that an party lover could want! Maleme is well positioned to explore the western side of Crete which is less touristy than central / eastern Crete. Be sure to check out the local villages and their welcoming tavernas! We would be more than happy to return to this villa.
