We were very happy with our stay at this property. It was well stocked and the communication was on point! Staying here brought up a lot of memories from where my grandparents used to bring me every summer growing up. We will definitely stay here again
Our group of 6 family and friends have enjoyed this beautiful property for 3 years on our annual fishing trip to Lake Ontario, the property has everything needed for a wonderful weekend at the lake. The sunset views are unbelievable! We will certainly be booking this house again in the future
The house is meticulously maintained. Very comfortable and spacious and a quiet rural retreat. Responsive and accommodating host. We passed a pleasant early spring weekend here. Kudos to the host
We had an amazing weekend at this amazing property. The owners were perfect: completely informative and organized, lots of resources in their booklet, very clear check-in/check-out instructions. I cannot say enough. I recommend it for anyone at all. The Lake and its surroundings are spectacular.

Thank you for the kind words Matt. Glad you had a great weekend and graduation was good. 😊
My friends and I stayed at this property for the second year in a row on an annual fishing trip on Lake Ontario. I could not speak more highly to the relaxing nature of this property. Beautiful views overlooking the lake and even a nature trail that leads out the pack yard. The gift basket left by the host was a generous gesture. We will 100% be back next year

Some surprises
The house looked fine on the surface, but it really needs a good deep cleaning. Also, there were some safety issues.
The last thing I want is for this place to get popular because then we'd have a hard time finding the time to book it amongst everyone else! This space is truly a hidden gem. The lake views are outstanding. The house is more than adequate (the washer and dryer were an added bonus). The property was brimming with wildlife - it's like living in Snow White's dream! We will be returning - 100%. Hands down, one of the best VRBO's we've ever stayed at.

Bill & Joy-thank you so much for the super kind words. It means a lot to hear how much you enjoyed your stay.
Hope to have you back soon.
We had a great stay here, the sunsets were some of the best I've ever seen. The place was nice and clean, the only thing we were slightly put off by was that the description is a little misleading as far as proximity to the lake. The house is across the street from the lake and the property sits on a cliff, there is no access to the lake from the property, you have to walk about 1/2 a mile up the road and then down a narrow path to access the lake. Otherwise everything was great and I would recommend that others stay here, as long as they are okay with a slightly long walk to access the lake.

I'm glad you had a good stay and got to see some great sunsets.
Sorry about the walk to the shore. My husband built stairs some years ago for us to get down to the water from the property but we didn't get a chance to bring them up last year and that powerful lake took them right away this past spring.
House was in a good location to attend the Sterling Renaissance Faire. It is a funky, mostly old lake house, with a great sized Master Bedroom. Sunset was spectacular! If you like lighthouses this is the place for you.And if you had a lot of people, there is plenty of room to spread out. However, it has some maintenance and cleanliness issues. The place appeared to be clean, but the insides of some of the appliances hadn't been cleaned in a while. The outside of the cabinets had stuff dripped on them. The outdoor grill was disgusting. The stairway to the upstairs is open and could be an issue for young kids or old folks.(Didn't look that bad in the pictures.) Additionally, the railing/bannister at the top of the stairs is VERY loose and dangerous. The upstairs bedroom lacks light. The lamp on the dresser had to be on the floor in order to plug it in and use it. The light switch in the Master Bedroom is coming out of the wall and the flushing mechanism on the toilet needs replacing. I've discussed these issues with the owner and she said that they will address them. Previous guests who gave 5s for cleanliness must not have done any cooking.
We recently visited Lake Ontario to enjoy some fishing. Our stay at this property was perfect. Jen is an incredibly attentive and responsive property owner. She even had the refrigerator stocked with bottles of water, and a lovely basket of cheese and other snacks. A+++
Comfortable for a group of guys PLUS one’s wife that wanted some privacy
This property just worked for us on so many levels. From a wife’s point of view, the layout of the house was excellent! My husband and I took the master bedroom which had an en-suite bath. Our friends (4 adults who’s significant others didn’t join us) were comfortable sharing a bathroom and claiming the other beds available. We enjoyed the rocking chairs with view of the lake and would eagerly wait for one of us to vacate a chair so another could claim it. Had the weather been milder, we probably would have sat outside more. But, with it being October, we knew we’d be housebound most of the time.
Stayed at this property with a small group of friends for a weekend of fishing. The house was perfect size for our group of 6 people. The views of the sunset over Lake Ontario were amazing, weather was great, and fishing was good. Hope to return next year.
The place was very nice and had everything I needed for my stay if only the weather would have corporated we could have enjoyed the water and outside… oh well perhaps next time

Jennifer's house was located in an amazing spot down a dirt road with a gorgeous view of the lake! We are very outdoorsy people and enjoyed the property! The house was clean upon arrival which is a super bonus during these times! We were greeted with a nice welcome basket! Jennifer was very attentive to our needs and was fairly quick to answer any questions we had! The BBQ grill worked well enough for us to cook our meals, and the house was well stocked with plenty of untensils and kitchen ware. The upstairs beds were not comfortable. Which made for rough night's sleep. Overall Jennifer's house gets a 4/5 rating!
I can not be more thankful for our time at the Ellirose! It was just what my family needed! On any given day they could walk out the front door to play, ride bikes or jump in the lake, literally!
The house was the perfect size for all 5 of us to carve out or own spots, or come together to eat, and play games.
Their spot on Lake Ontario is perfect! Whether I was having coffee out on the swing overlooking the lake, bbqing, playing with the boys or just watching the perfect sunsets, it's your own slice of heaven!
What a great find! We rented Jen's house for a mom's weekend away for 6 of us. Jen was very helpful in giving information about the area and details about the house. There's plenty of space in the house, yard, and at the beach for whatever you might want to do. The house was super clean and well stocked, and there was even a gift basket and water in the refrigerator. We couldn't have asked for a better place to spend the weekend.

The story of Elirose…
My husband and I met at Oswego State which is right on Lake Ontario. Who can’t help but fall in love with the lake? So fast forward to 2010. There used to be plots of land for sale further down the road and we came really close to buying one. He would come up at least once a month to see if anything new came up for sale. And wouldn’t you know it…this treasure goes on the market! All I really ever wanted, and never expected, was a piece of land right on the lake; the house is just an added bonus! We were shown the house and immediately fell in love with it. We have two daughters and when we showed the house to them they were afraid we were moving so we had to come up with something to call it. I call it my little piece of Heaven. But we took their middle names Elizabeth and Rose and combined them and Elirose was born. We love skipping rocks on the shore, swimming and playing games at the picnic table, relaxing while the sun sets, having bonfires and s’mores with friends and family and watching the stars and catching lightening bugs.
We hope that you and your family will make some great memories here too!
