About this property

The Lake House - water front property


Water front cottage, 320 sq ft studio, stylishly furnished, cozy, vaulted ceiling, floor length windows and magnificent views of Shawnigan Lake and hills beyond. Located on the sunny east side of the lake. In/out-door living with a large sundeck, wood patio furnishings, shared dock and shared double kayak. A full kitchen features an entertainment island for in-door dining. A LaZyBoy sofa bed with either a slumber air queen size mattress and or a 6" foam mattress, nice linens, plush towels and more!

Pet Policy, Deposit and Fees
Pets are not allowed due to bylaws/regulations/policies.
NOTE: Persons traveling with and requiring a Service Animal have special rights and must be granted access regardless.

Cleaning on Departure
(Covid-19 deep cleaned with disinfectant after each stay)
A fee is charged for Cleaning on Departure
One-time fee of $85.00 CAD for stays of any number of nights or occupants.
The guest is expected to clean the BBQ. Extra charges could apply.
If property is left in unreasonable condition, extra cleaning fee will apply.

Cleaning During Stay
Cleaning/Maid service is included in the rent and occurs every 7 days during a stay.

Lake front cottage on Shawnigan Lake. The small fine sand beach gradient is gradual for a short distance. There is a private dock.
Natural beach front with water plants with small beach, good swimming off the dock. There is a large sandy swimming public beach several minutes walk away. Dock is shared with our other rental property which is located right behind this cabin.

This little studio cottage is a delight. The lakefront was wonderful watching that birds and all the water sounds. Spent time in the water and the kayak was a bonus, lovely spot to unwind

Waterfront Cabin

Beautiful spot on Shawnigan Lake with large windows, a great deck and pier to enjoy the lake. The Cabin had everything one needs for your stay. If it wasn't for the air mattress that proved to be very uncomfortable, it would have been perfect.

Great location right on the lake with a lovely dock. However, I missed the fact that the only bed is a pull out couch which has a blow-up mattress. My back isn't great so will pay for that. But otherwise, the place has everything you need. Lovely deck and lake views.

Excellent little house, lovely view, amazing kitchen....every aid you could need. Traffic a little noisy. Helpful host and may I suggest that it is clear in the property details when booking that there will be extra taxes charged outside the platform. Thisis unusual so felt awkward and was difficult to understand. State up front and the transparency is appreciated. Would totally stay again.

Lovely little lake house

Great little lake house. Nice dock to enjoy a coffee in the am or drinks in the evening. Good size deck to have dinner on and a BBQ to cook with. Kitchen was fully loaded with everything you could need to cook which was a very nice addition. Location was great, close to the food, the trestle and wineries. Bed was a pull out couch inflatable mattress so it was actually a decent sleep and never woke up sore at all. The host Lesia was extremely helpful and very prompt in her replies to ensure everything was perfect and that we could enjoy our stay to the fullest. I would recommend and would stay here again.

Our family has been at the Shawnigan Lake since 1979. We have watched our children play in the lake and now watch our grandchildren play in the lake. The Lake House is our happy place. What found memories we have and now we want our guests to create memories for themselves. In 2007 we decided to bring The Lake House up to modern day amenities with a big renovation and decided to rent it as a vacation rental.

The view, the water, the wild life at your door step. What a great way to spend your holidays relaxing on the large deck drinking your favourite beverage and watching what is going on in Shawnigan Lake. Architecturally designed interior that maximizes the space for comfortable living. Newly renovated bathroom. BBQ with wooden deck furniture and umbrella for your comfort. Photographs in the interior of what the lake looked like a 100 years ago but in a modern space.

What makes this property unique

The unique benefits of staying at The Lake House you have a free standing house right on the lake with very good privacy. The views are of Strathcona Bay over to the estuary with a multitude of wild life lives. You can sit on the balcony or take the shared double kayak (with life vests) and look for Bald Eagles, Ospreys, beavers (one chewed my tree down), minks, a variety of birds and fish etc.
