The Windward Studio is one of four guest apartments in the brand new Main Street Station, designed to complement beloved historic structures of Eastsound. This is a premium unit, with spacious open floor plan of 430 square feet, queen bed, pull-out sofa, fully equipped compact kitchen, view balcony, and nearby stairs to the gorgeous rocky beach. Architecturally crafted with attention to every detail, and all new furnishings in coastal, organic style we call 'beachy elegance.' The rooms highlight natural textures and products from local artisans. In Eastsound Village you will find all you need -- farmer's market, bookstore, kayak rentals, bicycles, grocery, natural foods, boutiques, gift shops, and more. In fact, you don't even have to bring a car! Skip the ferry lines and pack light, take a shuttle or taxi to Eastsound, and the rest of your trip is easy. Feel free to ask us for any other special details you may desire for your get-away. Simply the perfect spot for your Orcas Island adventure! This studio was perfect for two. It was clean and comfortable. We loved the location. It's close to everything you need, plus it overlooks the sound. The first night, we enjoyed listening to the stormy winds and crashing waves. In the morning, we enjoyed sitting out on the balcony drinking our coffee. Truly an enjoyable getaway!

Great spot in Eastsound

It is even better in person than the pictures. A great view of Fishing Bay and Indian Island. The little fireplace keeps it very well heated on chilly mornings or evenings. Super close to the restaurants and coffee shops in town.

Location Location Location

Seastar Lofts is the perfect place to R&R or a base to explore the island. The single room is large with an efficient kitchen. The water is right outside your window and beach access is next to the building. Good parking and the entire town is right outside your door. Definitely highly recommended.

Ideal location, super cute studio!

We loved our weekend getaway at this wonderful studio. From the minute we walked in, we were impressed with the welcoming style, comfortable furniture, gas stove and a deck overlooking the bay. The location is perfect; on the water and minutes away from anything you could want, from art galleries, shops and restaurants, to coffee shops and grocery stores. You can easily unload right in front of the building, and parking was 1/2 a block away. A block away, be sure to check out the beautiful, tiny bar, The Barnacle, for a unique cocktail! Would highly recommend staying at SeaStar Lofts in Eastsound, any time of the year!

Great location!

Great location to local shops and restaurants. The view of the water was stunning. We loved having a kitchen to make meals in when we wanted to. The bathroom has a sinker tub which was wonderful after a long day exploring. The only draw back is the bed, like previous reviews, we found the mattress was uncomfortable to sleep on.

Great views, great location, and clean new furnishings

The write-up on the accommodations is very accurate and pretty much says it all. My wife and I stayed in one of the water view upstairs units over 4th of July week. We didn’t have to go far to see the fireworks – sat outside and had a “front seat” view over the water. The condo unit is brand new and the furniture and appliances are all very nice and clean. The biggest pro is just the location. We were within walking distance of everything we needed in Eastsound.

Lovely loft in town

My husband and I stayed at the loft for 4 nights and loved it. We had a car we brought over on the ferry so were able to explore the island. We took some nice hikes, went to a winery and did the orcas only excursion. The loft was in an awesome location overlooking the sound and walking distance from everything around us. We expected direct tv in the loft but not an issue to have steaming only. The staircase to the loft was good exercise for us but may be a bit tough for some especially hauling luggage up. The loft was really clean and had all amenities we would ask for. Thank you for the pleasant stay.

Great Location and Great Studio!

It was fun being in the middle of all of the action on Fourth of July and being able to watch the fireworks from the balcony! The balcony is tiny and there is no privacy between it and the balcony next to it, but there was only one point where we and our "neighbors" were using the balconies at the same time (other than for the fireworks show!). The studio was well stocked and nicely maintained. Not the quietest place we've stayed as garbage or other trucks were busy doing things at about 7 am one day and 4th of July partiers on their boat were yelling and singing into the wee hours of the morning. But other than that, it was a great area to stay in. Very cute town. Loved the nearby restaurants and shops.

Overall liked my stay. Cleaning people were extremely loud although it was not early but still loud. Someone put a sign on front door and propped it open with blocks. Requested that the door not be slammed. No idea who and kinda felt it was directed at myself and another family member in another room. I never left the room during time it was put up. Leaving door ajar was a potential safety concern and was not aware of until I went out after the fact. Other than that I enjoyed my time there and the view was beautiful. Everything needed was there and only short walk around downtown.

A beautiful, spotless location, but less private than the listing looks

We really loved staying here for so many reasons, but the downsides were: Your deck is basically shared with the unit next to you (wooden railing in between) and you can see into each other's units from the decks. There was really loud karaoke from some bar all night which really ruined the peaceful vibe that we had at sundown. The trade off is being walkable distance to shops and restaurants. The unit was spotless and well maintained. That mattress, however, needs a topper or something. It was both firm and kind of saggy at the same time, and I tossed and turned. The fireplace took a second to figure out but was a nice addition. (see if you can get it going as a trial run before the evening and when it's kind of too late to ask for help). I loved having a full kitchen and fridge and many comforts of home like ironing board and plenty of towels. I like more quiet when I'm on island so I don't think I'd stay here again, but if the negatives I've mentioned don't bother you, this is a great spot!!

We have been on Orcas Island for many decades (in fact Wally grew up here!), so know the island well. We can suggest not only popular travel adventures, but little known gems on island backroads.

Why they chose this property

We purchased this property for love of the historic Porter Building, located next door. For years this portion was vacant, occupied by a parking lot and dumpsters. We dreamed of beautifying the shoreline, dedicating a beach access to the public and building stairs to the water. At last we've completed our vision with the 'Main Street Station.' SeaStar Lofts allows us to welcome travelers to our favorite place in the world.

What makes this property unique

Sipping coffee or a glass of wine on the patio, breathing in that clear island air, and contemplating the view! We also love wandering around the village, hiking in the Turtleback Mountain Reserve, and exploring Moran State Park. We know many of the restauranteurs in town and there are a remarkable number of delicious options for an evening out.
