Very comfortable cottage, lovely surrounding property and lake. Pretty detail on dock and garden furniture, perfect lake for swimming.
We were a bit surprised by the proximity with neighbours, but they proved to be very quiet. In general a perfect spot for a country getaway and cottage stay !

Brianna, sorry for the late review. Thank you for renting my cottage and hope to see you again.
This cottage was the perfect rustic getaway our family needed. Wanda was helpful and welcoming. The cottage was cozy and well-appointed. Would return tomorrow.

Thanks so much Tom and family. I’m so happy you enjoyed your stay. Hope to have you again; you’d be most welcomed. Here’s wishing you a wonderful summer.
It was a well-equipped comfortable cottage with three bedrooms and open living/dining/kitchen area. Our canoe slipped easily into the lake and we enjoyed exploring Lac Barnes. A wonderful trail nearby gave us access to a marsh and into the woods. The variety of fall mushrooming was spectacular.

Nice lake, cabin very rustic
We had a nice week, the lake is quiet and clear, without motor boats, which we greatly appreciated.
However the cabin is old and rustic, slightly run down, affected with mold, and since our daughter has asthma, and my wife and I are both allergic to mold, we had to take antihistamines every day, so we left a bit early.

Perfect Place to Chill
Wanda's Cottage was the perfect place to chill for two weeks. Quiet lake, nice dock and easy access to Ottawa. It is a cottage, so plumbing is fragile and potable water has to be brought in, and there are no linens or towels. It's a nice set up with some watercraft and some good people watching as they paddle, kayak by or float by on their docks.
Overall Impression very good except for electrical concerns. Plug-ins everywhere & lights blink when using water.
Also toilet very fragile & bathroom linoleum needs replaced or repaired.

I am happy to report all your concerns have been addressed or repaired.
Thoroughly enjoyed my week at this cottage. It was the perfect size, well-stocked kitchen, beautiful waterfront and dock. The water and lake were gorgeous. Hardly knew the neighbours were there - very quiet and peaceful spot.

Beautiful, peaceful lake.
Just came back from a week's stay at this cottage on the beautiful Lac Barnes. The view on this lake is quite something! We spent most of our time on the new dock, relaxing, listening to the loons and watching the other cottage goers float by on their floating docks. The lake is very peaceful as there are no motorized water crafts. The lake is very clear and great for swimming. If bringing younger children, we would suggest bringing water shoes for them as the shore is quite rocky.
The cottage itself is quite rustic, but does have everything you would need for a week of camping.

Peaceful ,nature setting for outdoor lovers
The cottage was exactly as the photos shows. No disappointment or surprises.
We became fast friends of the chip monks and red squirrels who live nearby.
The canoe and paddle boat were enjoyed as was the fire pit at night.
A trip to Omega park also a high light of the trip.
If nature and quiet is something you enjoy this cottage is perfect. We will go back.

A wonderful little getaway location!
If you're looking for a peaceful place to relax, this is your place! We enjoyed 2 weeks here with our family of 4 and it was terrific! Groceries & amenities are 11 minutes away in Perkins. The lake is small, clean & beautiful for swimming. We used the canoe, paddle boat & kayak to tour the lake daily. If you're lucky, you'll have a chance to hear the loons periodically on the lake as well. There is an abundance of patio chairs, which was wonderful to have around the fire pit at night. We brought up our bikes, so you can bike around the lake and see the various cottages. The only downside was the lack of privacy inside the cottage as the bedroom walls don't go all the way up to the ceiling. Overall, a wonderful little cottage for a family vacation. Wanda was terrific at answering our questions in a timely fashion.

Absolutely gorgeous location
Perfect for our family! Some may dislike bringing your own sheets and drinking water, then cleaning up at the end of the week, but for our family this made for a wonderful affordable location. If we lived closer we'd be tempted to return each year for a week away from it all paddling around this beautiful lake. Very peaceful. G
