The stay was comfortable and spacious for a family of five. The location was close enough for us to take morning walks into town.
Looking forward to my next stay.
My family and friends enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect for us because we meet others on the island each year. The owner was attentive and quickly answered all of my questions.

It was great to have you Sylvia. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. It's fun to get to know my visitors even if it's just over the phone!
This a lovely house located in Vineyard Haven not far from the ferry and other VH treats. The house is well outfitted wit the things you will need for you stay with the second for serving as the location where we hung out the most. The deck on the second floor was a perfect place to have morning coffee or close out an evening. The property is as advertised, the only thing we would note is that the third floor was quite dusty so we did not utilize it. Overall, a great place to stay and good communication from the hosts!
The house is in the most perfect location! The host is great, you have everything you need there and plenty of room. This was our second year in a row and we will be back next year too. We’ve stayed at 4 houses so far and this one just sits in the middle of everything!
Our annual guys week trip to the vineyard, we trailered Scoot scoots over and roamed the island for a week. House is plenty big and room to hang out especially on the upstairs deck checking out the skyline!

Tim and his family are a favorite to have in my Vineyard house. He went above and beyond this year when he encountered something that could be improved upon. I am appreciative and they are welcome back anytime!
Great location in between the town of Vineyard Haven and West Chop. Very bikable area in the middle of a quiet street. The house is large (a true four bedroom with a downstairs that has a mini-kitchenette) and a bit on the older side, but nice for a group of four. Would come back!
The property is as described. There was plenty of room for two families. We had a small electric problem when we arrived and it was handled SO QUICKLY. The caretaker came and resolved so quickly. I think that is important to share because communications were very good.

I was happy to have Aisha and her family there. When we encountered an electrical glitch, she was patient and we worked well together to solve it. I hope they return next year.
Wonderful open floorplan on main floor(2 nd floor). Great windows and sliders to bond with nature. Nice deck for relaxing and causal dining. Simple / comfortable bedrooms. 1st level has sitting area for TV, a second kitchen and 2 of the 4 bedrooms.
Easy bike ride to town. The "kids" (20's) road bikes to the beach daily. Peaceful and relaxing. Just what we were looking for!!

Great for large families
We enjoyed our stay. The home is good for large families. The couch didn't look like something we'd want to sit on, the first level patio screen needs to be more stable and there is only (1) TV in the whole home. The place isn't fancy but it is clean (other than the couch) and it’s in a great location. It is a quiet street. It needs some updates, but was fairly priced. the owner, was very helpful and responsive.

Thanks BJ -- Thanks for the nice review.I'm glad you enjoyed the stay. That couch has been switched out since you were there. The sliding door has been replaced so many times. It's just an older house with some idiosyncrasies. I do hope you return again.

Vineyard Haven Getaway 2017
A group of four friends and I stayed at The Morris House 8/12-19/2017. We typically stay in Oak Bluffs, but because our group was smaller this year, we stayed in Vineyard Haven. Upon our arrival, we were impressed with the home and the location. The home is located on a quiet street and was extremely spacious and cool with regards to it not having air conditioning. We loved the fact that there were 2 functioning kitchens and full baths, one on each level. The kitchen was stocked with essential seasonings and made for lots of space to dine in and play games. The hammock and wrap around decks made for a very relaxing Vineyard stay! I hope to return again in the future and Erin was an amazing owner.

Thank you Antonio. I really appreciate the detailed review. We hope to have you back!
The house has a super cool 70s vibe but needs some major TLC. Screen sliding doors were all broken and/or completely off the door frame, more than half of the deck chairs were broken and half of the mattresses were extremely worn and uncomfortable. The smell of mold/must is very prevalent which was difficult for my mother who has mold allergies. This house has so much potential! I feel bad leaving a less positive review but there are a number of very basic but big things that need attending to to make the stay comfortable.
Very relaxing sitting on the deck enjoying drinks with Turkeys strolling by, yes Turkeys, who would have guessed. Lovely and quiet location exactly 1 mile to town. Has everything you need and nothing you don’t… I will stay here again if we venture back to the island.

Liked: Communication, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Check-in
Space for a busy Family
Pros: 1. More than enough space for 5 people to move around comfortably
2. Location
3. Owner tried her best to fix door/key issue in a timely manner
4. Outdoor Shower
Cons: 1.Because there isn’t AC we constantly left the windows open (with screens) and every morning we woke up to a gazillion bugs that stayed and vacationed with us for the week.
2. There were no extra linen, towels, washcloths
3. We were unable to lock the door during our stay
4. No grill/ backyard furniture
5. I’m not sure if all the cobwebs are purposely left so that the spiders can kill all the bugs that are in the house, however the space could’ve used a deeper clean before our arrival.
6. Wifi was terrible during our stay and we could not “WFH” most days
The location of this place is in a perfect spot as it’s minutes from just about everything. The house had everything we needed with lots of room in a quiet neighborhood. Morning coffee on the upper deck was absolutely awesome. The host was great with a small request we had and very prompt to answer any questions I had prior to arrival. We will be back.
This was our second year in the house. It was another good stay. We did have to buy extra towels (only five when we arrived). It was a “comfort house”, with adequate space. Air conditioning would have made it even more comfortable but there were enough fans.
For Martha's Vineyard, this property is great value for money. The kitchen and living room area are a good size and well equipped. Bedrooms are decent and beds fine. Kids loved the outdoor space including a balcony and an outdoor shower.
Our family has traveled to MV for summer vacations since our children were infants; every two years or so. We have always migrated to homes in the Vineyard Haven area because it has always been the most family friendly. This year was no exception. We found Erin’s house to be just what we needed to accommodate our now adult family. It was enjoyed by all: clean, well located, and (with a few exceptions) well outfitted.
Most significant, however, was the home owner, who was very communicative, helpful, and kind (even when we forgot to return the key upon exciting the home; doh!)
We highly recommend this property and this owner, and would definitely return in the future.
We had a lovely long stay at Erin's house. The place is pretty well set up for families with four bedrooms, a big washing machine and separate tumble dryer. The kitchen had everything we needed. We particularly loved the large open plan kitchen/dining/living room area, especially the 1970s vibe. Check-in was seamless and we had good communication from Erin. Thanks so much for sharing your house with us!
Points that could have been better in case Erin is looking to make improvements:
- downstairs was a bit damp although the de humidifier helped.
-it would have been nice to have window coverings for privacy in the bathroom and bedrooms (the curtains were sheer)
- air conditioning even in one of the rooms would be useful for hot days although the fans did clear out the hot air by the evening. Of course we knew we were renting a place without AC but this would be a welcome improvement
- the downstairs bed has a broken leg so it is tilted

About the host
Hosted by Erin Huttlinger
This home has been in our family since 1989. We have spent every summer and some fall seasons here on the island and we still do. This is our personal home, not technically a vacation property. However, we have decided to rent it out for a few weeks a year and have upgraded a lot of things to make it comfortable to others. Erin Huttlinger
