This lovely home made a perfect stay for the five of us attending the Prefontaine Classic. Spacious, very clean with a fully stocked kitchen and close to Univ of Oregon. Bedrooms were comfortable. The only thing we wished we had was manual from the owner so we could know exactly what to do to check out. But this was still an excellent stay in a quiet neighborhood. We’d definitely book this home again.

The house was clean and the kitchen, for the most part, was well equipped, though it was missing a toaster. The beds were comfortable. The quirky closet contents were an especially fun surprise. We felt welcomed and comfortable in the house.

Lovely home-all the accoutrements. Great beds, appliances, comfy sofa. Being Boomers we expected tv w stations for news & sports, not apps that weren’t but that’s our only critique of house. Price concern around 175 cleaning fee -way too high and offensive since we had to strip beds, launder towels, etc. Threat re breakage online but no written instructions/hospitality welcome to direct. Otherwise, The Mellow Yellow House is a great accommodation.

Our only serious complaint is that the front door has a deadbolt and a regular lock. We accidentally locked the lower one for which there is no key. We left voicemail for the host but did not get a response. We lucked out and found a way into the house, but it was a nervous 15 minutes.

Be wary

Be wary of renting this house if you value privacy and communication. There is an attached dwelling to the house occupied by an adult male. This fact was not disclosed to me before arrival and realized only after hearing unexplained noises during the first night and seeing him leave his dwelling the next morning. His entry door and the unshaded kitchen window are only a few feet apart. His bathroom seemingly aligns with the master bedroom headboard and I heard too much apparently coming from his bathroom. I contacted the VRBO host and two additional numbers. I was ignored.

The property is immaculate clean. The updated kitchen and restrooms are beautiful. The main restroom has a washlet toilet which is a huge plus. My only complaint is that the house has dust floating in the air I sneezed a lot because of it. The air conditioner is efficient and cold. I would recommend an air filter in 3 rooms to address the dust. Most dust is from human skin. This property is likely heavily rented. All that being said, we would rent this prt again.
