About this property
Hollerback Hunt & Yacht Club, peaceful lakefront with private dock on 6 Acres
Welcome to Hollerback Hunt and Yacht Club! Just kidding, there is no Hollerin', Huntin' or Yachtin', but if peace and quiet is what you're after then this is the perfect place to relax and unwind. We welcome those who enjoy nature and can appreciate and maintain the peaceful atmosphere that we and our neighbors cherish.
We are located in Altamont, TN which is an hour and a half from both Nashville and Chattanooga, and 45 minutes from Sewanee, Monteagle, The Caverns, Manchester and McMinnville. Altamont is approximately 2000 ft. elevation and temperatures are 10-15 degrees cooler up on the mountain than in the cities.
We are a family friendly retro cottage/cabin nestled in the trees on our 6 wooded acres next to a 10 acre spring fed lake, which keeps it full pool year round, and our own private dock and sun deck for swimming, sunning, floating, catch and release fishing and paddle boating.
Well behaved pets are welcome for a small fee but must be on a leash when off the property. They are also allowed at most local hiking spots.
Bring whatever you have that floats or use our 10 ft John Boat. (sorry no outboard motors allowed, but battery powered trolling and old school paddling are ok, paddles provided.
1.5 hours from both Nashville and Chattanooga and 45 minutes from Monteagle, Sewanee, The Caverns, Bonaroo, Manchester, McMinnville.

OTHER THINGS WE HAVE:
FIREFLIES, lots of them around sunset. Just like stars in the trees.
HUMMINGBIRDS, if the feeders are out you are welcome to add nectar to them. (1/4 cup sugar, to 1 cup boiling water, let cool, fill feeders) They put on a great show all day long near the front porch. There is usually a jug of it in the refrigerator.
DEER, they love to graze in the back pasture. Absolutely no hunting, but feel free to shoot them with a camera if you are lucky enough to see them.
RACOONS, so BAG and TIE and lock all trash in the cans on the back porch and don't forget to use the strap to keep them from getting into it, they are very clever. Garbage pick up is Monday.
BATS, yes, bats nest along the bluff and appear every night to eat Mosquitos, so we don't have many! but bring bug spray just in case.
BEARS, we have NO bears! Go to Gatlinburg if you want bears.
NEIGHBORS , we love them and ask that you not trespass on their property, not allow pets to roam the neighborhood, and keep music and loud noise to a minimum.
Thank you for checking us out! We hope you and your family will join us and make many wonderful memories here.

About the host
Hosted by Julie Gross

We are a busy family of 7 with 1 small dog. We live in Jupiter, Florida and this is our second home. We are happy to share our little slice of heaven with others who can appreciate and maintain the tranquility that we and our neighbors enjoy. Our cabin is located on the outskirts of Altamont in what we call the Bible Belt surrounded by Mennonite farmers and families in a development called Deer Run.
