Kalptaru Treehouse Retreat

Indulge in serenity and relaxation at our treehouse. The name Kalptaru (Kal-pah-ta-roo) is from an ancient Indian language Sanskrit, meaning "the divine tree".
Nestled high among the trees, Kalptaru offers a peaceful, cozy space that features,

SETTING EXPECTATIONS FOR YOUR STAY: Please note the following before booking your stay,
-Longer stays may not be advisable for guest who are not familiar in roughing it or climbing ladders or not comfortable using an outhouse bathroom.
-If you're looking for a deeply secluded, forest-immersed experience, this might not be the perfect fit. Our house which is on the same parcel, is visible from the treehouse.

BATHROOM is located in a separate outhouse, about 50 feet from the treehouse and features a composting toilet. Additionally, please be prepared for Pacific Northwest weather, it can rain at any time of the year.

TREEHOUSE LOCATION:
Treehouse is located in a residential area. It is situated in the wooded sideyard of our ~1.5 acre property. Our house is in close proximity and visible from the treehouse, but it does not interfere with your privacy.

TREEHOUSE DYNAMICS:
- Natural movement: Expect minor creaks, groans, and gentle swaying with wind
- Elevated location: Windy days may amplify noise levels
- Designed for stability: Treehouse flexes with the tree.

OUTDOOR GRILL- We provide propane for the grill outdoors but not the utensils or silverware. Please bring your own if you are planning to use it.

WINTER MONTHS WARNINGS:
- Sink Winterization: Treehouse sink has only cold running water and will be unavailable when temperatures drop to freezing to prevent pipe damage (December to February)
- Restroom/Toilet: Remain available year-round.
- Shower: Remains available year-round. If we ever have to winterize the shower due to extreme cold conditions we'll inform you and reschedule or fully refund as you seem appropriate.
Questions or concerns , check with us before booking your stay during those months.

HOTTUB!
If hottub is critical to your stay, please let us know in advance. We'd be happy to cancel and refund your stay ideally within refund window, if we are aware of any technical problems beforehand. Please be informed treehouse offers a glamping experience with listed amenities. We keep hottub at ~104° F for our guest's comfort and for energy efficiency. We have posted for guest not to change hottub settings and if they have, set it back to 104° after use. If you find hottub in unusable condition due to situations out of our control (guests changing the settings, sudden equipment failure, inadequate time to clean after soiling accidents, etc) we don't entertain offering discounts.

CHILDREN & SAFETY:
- We DO NOT have childproofing or baby proofing products installed at the treehouse. If young children are accompanying you, adult supervision is required for children at all times (Children under 6 years old require extra caution)
- Children must be accompanied by an adult when using: treehouse deck, dreamnet, firepit.

Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
A quick tidy up is extremely helpful! 1.Leave the used towels on the shower floor 2. If used leave the sheet for sofa bed out 3.Empty vacuum & return to charging 4.Rinse used dishes &leave in sink
5. Drop your trash bags into a black trash bin outside. Only clean recyclable items in the blue recycling bin. 6. Turn off propane cylinders (grill & outdoor heaters) and cover the grill if used.
7. Hottub stays at ~104°F. If you have adjusted the temperature, reset it back to 104° F. 8. If you have moved anything, indoor or outdoors, please bring it to its original place.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
-Hot Tub: Please ensure the cover is securely placed after using the hot tub to maintain water cleanliness and quality.
Damages- Please report any accidents or damage to the owner immediately. Guest are responsible for any damages caused during their stay.
-NO SMOKING, Violation incurs $100 fine - $100 fine per unauthorized visitor/guest and immediate termination of your reservation

A magical place. We stayed for a couple nights (family of 4, kids ages 5 and 7) and had a wonderful time. The play area, fire pit, and hot tub were great, but the real star is the house and the dream net! There was a hiccup with the hot water before we arrived, but Shweta communicated with us about it and worked with us, even offering to let us cancel if we wanted. I am so glad we didn’t! Not only was the issue fixed so quickly that it was essentially a non-issue, but we would have missed out on the memories we made during our stay! Highly recommended!

Amazing family getaway adventure!

Visited with spouse and school aged kiddo. What a FUN weekend getaway! The treehouse was amazing and there was lots to do at the property. We enjoyed the yard games, hot tub, the campfire and hanging out in the net below the treehouse. If you're a person who wants to like camping, but don't, this is the perfect spot for you. A perfect adventure with comfort!

We had a magical getaway in this amazing treehouse! So many details- made by a master builder! When you walk in the door, it feels like the gnomes and fairies just left! Comfortable and cozy! A bucket list stay!

The host hung a happy birthday sign for my daughter when I told them why we were going when booking. The kids loved playing in the net and the hot tub was very nice. It was relaxing and quiet. The shower was difficult to keep water in the pan and the compostable toilet was not pleasant. Also there are cameras aimed directly into the cabin where my husband and I slept downstairs and around the area. I am hoping they were disabled while we were there.
