Your lake front access is private, with a small beach for a bon fire and a private dock.
Enjoy a day of group kayaking, then come back to sunsets and an evening fire on your private beach. A short drive to Olympic National Park, Forks, four world-class salmon fishing rivers as well as both the Pacific and inlet ocean fishing, beaches, hiking, and mushroom hunting. We live on an adjacent lot part of the season and are glad to meet visitors and share our knowledge and love of nature with you. This lake is well preserved and boasts swallows nesting in the spring; migratory bats visit in summer and keep the mosquito population low; sockeye salmon spawn off the dock in fall, and many migratory birds overwinter here. Year around we have visits from the local elk herd on many mornings, and occasionally get a bald eagle or otter family resting on the dock enjoying a fish dinner. For those who want join in the fun we have twelve kayaks. Six are double sit-on-top kayaks that are very stable and allow first time kayakers to explore with someone experienced. These kayaks also have a third center seat that can be used by very large individuals who want to go on the water independently. These kayaks boast a maximum weight limit of 550 pounds though for the best stability we recommend you go with 80% of that which is still an impressive 440 pounds (200 kilograms) The other six kayaks are traditional single sit-in kayaks that are dryer with a lower center of gravity for those that want a faster and more maneuverable choice. These have a maximum weight capacity of 275 pounds and again for the best stability, we recommend going with 80% of that number which is 220 pounds (100 kilograms). We provide life jackets of all sizes for your safety. Our lake is also very swim friendly in the summer, with the water temperature typically in the upper 60s to lower 70s, compared to nearby Lake Crescent, which remains in the 50s year-round. We have a swim ladder at the end of our dock to make getting in and out easier. Off shore our lake goes down to about 40 feet, but we request no diving off the dock as the lake is only about six feet deep at the end of our dock. Our Foos ball table is an extremely high quality recreational table made and imported from Italy, and provides fun for enthusiasts as well as casual users. It has special telescoping rods which prevent injuries to fellow players as well as bystanders, especially children who are more vulnerable. Our cafe style two player game table features 60 classic video arcade games such as Ms Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Donkey Kong, Galaga, and Millipede, providing intergenerational fun for kids of all ages. Speaking of fun, our classic 70s family den has a stunning view of the water during the day that transforms into a family cinema with a pull down screen projector and flexible comfortable seating for the whole family.

About the host
Hosted by Laura Musikanski
We love creating a beautiful, peaceful and fun place where families, friends, and groups can relax, reconnect, experience deep well-being and have fun. Our goal is for you and your group to feel fully at home - in the space, in yourself and with the beauty of the rain forest, and to make this a place where you will come back to make memories and build well-being into your life and your group. We especially appreciate respectful guests who treat the property and neighbors with care.
Clinton and I have traveled both internationally, nationally and locally, staying at STVRs as well as hotels and resorts. Our aim is to provide what you need for a seamless great vacation or retreat- from small necessities like salt and soap to facilities like enough kayaks for everyone in a large group and meal time seating so everyone can enjoy eating together. We live on site part time, so we can help when you need, while also ensuring you have the privacy and space you need to fully enjoy your stay.
We’re happy to share recommendations for local activities, restaurants, outdoor adventures, and hidden gems in the area. We hope your time here leaves you feeling rested, refreshed, and looking forward to coming back again.
Why they chose this property
Beaver (and Forks) are in the heart of the rainforest. When you stay here, you are half an hour away from either the beaches of the pacific ocean or those of the Salish Sea, with fishing towns where you will find world class salmon fishing and whale viewing, and easily accessible beach combing. Our area is known as the "basecamp" for five world class salmon fishing rivers: Sol Duc, Hoh, Bogachiel, Calawah and Quillayute. It is also in the center of mushroom hunting territory.
When you are here you get to experience bring connected to nature. In the spring, watch the salmon fry (baby salmon) jump at dusk to catch their dinner, competing with swallows and bats who live nearby in bat houses on the barn and the bird houses on the property. In the summer, mama otter brings her children to the dock to rest or for a snack, while the Elk herd meanders across the fields with their young early in the morning. In the fall, you can watch an eagle family teach their baby how to catch salmon, and gather cascade blackberries, an indigenous fruit of the region.
Holidays here are special. The community really comes together to celebrate, whether it's the fourth of July, Christmas time, or Forever Twilight, (To find out what's going on, check out the Forks Forum).
