beautiful quiet place and size for us two, with nice quiet beach front view from 4th floor, gorgeous sunrises, great dark sky star gazing with binoculars provided too, & easy beach access. Kitchen is very well stocked, the deviled eggs were a delicious welcome snack, & we felt right at home enjoying french press coffee. All you need is there & we’ll surely return.

Top floor, so great view of the beach over the dunes. Apt is well-equipped with anything you need for cooking. Cabinet full of the usual spices, oil, sugar. Nice touch of a bunch of deviled eggs in the fridge as a welcome; they were tasty! TV is easy to figure out. Bathroom is roomy and shower is hot with good pressure. My wife loved the decor.

Perfect for R&R - Perfect Everything

This was my first VRBO experience and the bar has been set. This property is beautiful in pictures but even better in person. "Off Season' staying is wonderful. Very clean property, nice 'touches' of treats and 'welcome' features. Great location. I love that this property is homey and comfortable. The large windows bring the beach in, the view from the bedroom is ideal. If you want a property that the beach throws up on, this is not for you. If you want calm, comfortable beauty and a real respite from your 'real' world, this is the place to be. Jeanette is an amazing host and I will be back to stay here.

Our entire team is committed to providing our guests with clean, comfortable and well-maintained properties - and we also work very hard to make sure all our guests receive prompt and hospitable communications throughout the entire stay: when booking, checking-in, during their stay and even at and after check-out. This review tells us you were disappointed for not getting free access to the owners' beach chairs, which are stored under the bed, however, we are unclear why this warrants a 1-star rating. We were not made aware of any other problems before, during or after your visit. And in conclusion, I am puzzled why VRBO has permitted this review to remain. After asking them to remove it, VRBO said the review doesn't violate any of their rules of reviews, so it is remaining.

About Property Managers, Shawn and Jeanette Lawson (Kiawah Island Getaways):

Shawn's family discovered Kiawah in 1978 and returned year after year for two-week vacations. In 1985 we drove our VW Bug convertible to Kiawah and Shawn introduced me to Kiawah. I remember stepping over the dune boardwalk out in front of the Kiawah Island Inn and seeing Kiawah's wide, sandy beach for the first time - it was so brilliant it practically danced before my eyes. It was during this vacation that the two of us decided to set our sights on moving to this beautiful and fascinating place permanently.

In 1988 our dreams came true and our U-Haul rattled across the Kiawah Island bridge (at that time it was nothing more than a wood-planked bridge). For the next four years we rented a 1-bedroom villa, 4251 Mariner's Watch. Shawn was so thrilled to be living on the island that he applied for the personalized South Carolina license plate 'KIAWAH' (which we still have today).

In 1992, we built our first home on the island at 134 Conifer Lane. During construction, I gave birth to our first son Benjamin - he arrived 2 months early in an ambulance outside of the Kiawah Island Fire Station.

In 2001, we purchased our first villa, a 1-bedroom, beachside Seascape and Kiawah Island Getaways was born. Once we got our feet wet with the villa rental business, it was a like a fever for us. We both really enjoyed furnishing, decorating and maintaining the villas - not to mention the new found fun of meeting and talking to all sorts of people about Kiawah. Because we really enjoy what we do, other Kiawah property owners noticed and we started managing their properties as well.

Our whole family loves Kiawah and running Kiawah Island Getaways is a true family-run business. We personally prepare each villa prior to your arrival - because we want your stay to be perfect. We want you to fall in love with Kiawah too...and we know you will.
