Great location and easy check-in/check-out process. The property is older, so there were some cleanliness factors/updates that are needed. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
I'm a South Austinite born and raised, and stayed here while visiting for spring break. It was perfect for my family. The kids and their cousins were happy, entertained, and safe in the huge family friendly yard. The house was big, clean, nice, and centrally located, and the hosts were friendly and responsive. I highly recommend!!
This is such a lovely house. It's huge, with a huge backyard, and well-stocked with everything you'd need. I don't know why it's gotten bad reviews. We did not have any complaints or issues. Everything was as described. The beds and furniture were super comfortable, and we loved how the house was decorated. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Lots of potential but fell short of expectations
Great backyard for kids and dogs and location was fantastic. But that’s the only positive. Holly was great but at the end of the day… Reports of serious uncleanliness and rodents are real.
I traveled home to see family for my Grandma's 90th and this house sold me with the backyard! The house is a cute house with lots of character! The beds were comfortable, the master bathroom shower was so nice, the backyard was our most used spot, and everything was super accessible! We couldn't have been happier with this house!
I haven't been able to communicate with the property manager since booking, but thats not on him, that's on the Vrbo & Google connection.
Okay area of town, very central to everything we wanted to see. Online photos are in NO WAY reprens
Okay area of town, very central to everything we wanted to see. Online photos are in NO WAY representative of the home. Mice droppings in kitchen, mold in shower, scum, main shower didn’t turn on as the shower head hung out of place. Carpet nails and scraps hanging from ceiling. So disappointed in general unkept peppery. Couldn’t use backyard as the wood chairs, table were splintered and old , playground falling apart, metal and wood piles in backyard. Ants in bathroom and dishes sticky, cabinets and drawers shoved so full of personal belongings we had no room for our things.

We are very sorry to hear through a review that you had a negative experience. While we can never guarantee a renter will love our property the way we do, we always strive to address any issues that are presented to us as quickly as possible. We wish that when we'd spoken during your stay to explain how to operate the fully functioning shower, that you had mentioned any of these other issues. Our follow-up phone call went unreturned as well as a request to let us know if there was anything else we could do for you during your stay.
While we strongly disagree with some of the suggestions in your review, we value all feedback from our guests. We have made sure the points you mentioned are given their due attention and only wish that we could have had the opportunity to accommodate you to make your stay a pleasant one.

Eclectic space but dangerously unclean
Difficult to rate this place as anything above 1 star sadly.
We had high hopes upon booking as the space is very eclectic, however there are not enough window coverings and multiple elements of the home that are not to code, such as half-steps built within the house and ceiling fans that are too low for you to raise your arms in the bedrooms safely.
This alone though does not account for the majority of our issues. We were forced to leave early due to a horrifying discovery of an enormous rat that had been running around on the countertops, pulling food off the counters and moving freely throughout the kitchen and under the appliances. Even upon alerting the host to the issue and providing not only pictures but video of the rat in plain sight during the middle of the day, they did not want to issue a full refund for our stay. Renters beware!

We were sorry to hear that you and your guests were unhappy four days into your reservation and we immediately agreed to your request to end your stay. However, you continued to stay at our home and left uncovered food on the floor with what was an apparent attempt to lure a rodent into the kitchen for the express purpose of video taping it and requesting a full refund, despite staying in our home for 5 nights of a 6 night reservation.

Rented for daughters graduation weekend. If you rent, Deal with Holly!!
I rented based on reviews, and didn’t see April review until check in. the house was what we wanted for graduation weekend. DEAL WITH HOLLY-she’s nice! TODD LIVES HERE FULL TIME and seems to think everyone knows that ATX DOESNT GIVE PERMITS FOR STRs unless occupied by the owner…not true. There’s no owners closet so literally ALL OF TODDS STUFF IS EVERYWHERE! The closets have his clothes, drawers, bathrooms have toiletries that are his.
The house was dirty but Holly came and cleaned it. We stayed bc it was graduation weekend in ATX and we had planned all around the house for entertaining family. Which we did do after Holly came and cleaned. The furniture is worn and outdated and needs to be replaced. The photos are old so don’t expect it to look this way-more of a fraternity house feel. We did got some money back bc I didn’t think it was fair to ask for all of it since we actually did stay there. I tried calling Vrbo twice and got dropped; I did take photos and went room by room w Holly of the dog hair on the furniture, the worn out furnishing, the dirt and crumbs in the utensil drawer, how weird it was to have someone who lived in a Vrbo just vacate when rented and all their personal belongings in the house-usually they are spotless and not lived in. I feel like everyone should know this and TODD did not agree this MAJOR detail should be on the site…I strongly disagree! Lots of potential…needs lots of work…great neighborhood.
This is a comfortable and quiet place to stay just 5 minutes from SoCo. We appreciated being able to take a road trip with our dogs. Our host was friendly and responsive. If you’re not looking for an upscale high maintenance experience, you will enjoy Todd and his property. We would do this again with our dogs!
Loved the location. So close to Downtown/South Congress/UT Campus/Restaurants, etc. Mattresses, pillows and couches were very comfy. Cute quaint house and neighborhood. There were only 5 of us (adults) but the house can comfortably handle a lot more people. Back yard was amazing; this would be a great place to visit in the winter for enjoying the back yard and fire pit. It was quite hot (107 degrees) during our stay so we did not get to enjoy the back yard.
We love this property in Austin. The owners are responsive and extremely helpful. We had an amazing time. We especially love the backyard and the fire pit. Excellent location and amenities!
Our stay was lovely. The home is spacious and comes with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We chose this place for two main reasons: it’s proximity to the city and the playground/tree house. Being so close to downtown Austin was awesome and so many good local places to eat just minutes away. You could walk, ride bike, or scooter to most places but since we were traveling with kids we drove to wherever we needed. Biggest downside of our stay was that we did not get to use the playground/tree house as planned. On the day we arrived (at least an hour after check-in time) there was a gentle man power washing everything out back. We had planned to arrive and let our kids play but the wasn’t possible, the guy said he still had a while to clean and everything was very muddy. We tried to kill some time relaxing inside and hanging out on front patio but after a long drive. By the time he was done we had to get ready to leave for our dinner plans. My son was able to play late in the evening, some lighting out there but a little too dark for him play alone and it was till muddy from all the water sprayed for washing. That being said the play equipment and tree house are very fun and well kept/safe.
Excellent location! Had a rustic / camping vibe to it. The backyard was huge and we enjoyed the fire pit. Even roasted some s'mores. Pet friendly. Peaceful area. Overall, was a great fit for our family of 4 traveling with family dog.
House was great. We came to Austin to reunite with some old friends and our new families. The location was great, close Congress and the city, easy to find and access. The backyard was perfect for hanging out, and for our dogs to run around and play. Everyone really enjoyed chatting around the fire pit. Beds were comfy and house was cozy. House also came with a great collection of movies abs Xbox games! TV in the backyard was a nice touch as well! We would definitely stay here again. Thank you to our host Mr. Todd Wilson, we really enjoyed our stay!!
