HARVEST SEASON IN WALLA WALLA, AND THE WHOLE HOUSE IS YOURS
There is a stretch of about twelve weeks each year when this valley is exactly what everyone hopes it will be. Crush runs through September and October, the vineyards go gold and rust against the Blue Mountains, and the tasting rooms that were three deep in August have room at the bar again.
What you want at the end of a day like that is not four hotel rooms on different floors. You want everyone under one roof, nobody on a sofa, a hot tub that is still good when the evening turns cold, and a fire to sit around afterwards.
That is what this is. Four bedrooms, four king beds, three full bathrooms, two complete kitchens and a private hot tub on a covered deck — eight minutes from downtown Walla Walla, in a quiet College Place neighborhood across the street from the park.
WHO THIS IS FOR Four couples on a wine weekend, most often. It is the single most common booking here, and the reason is simple: four king beds and three full bathrooms means nobody drew the short straw.
It also works beautifully for two families travelling together, for a multigenerational group where the grandparents want a bedroom without stairs, and for corporate retreats that need people to actually work and eat in the same building. Sleeps nine.
And for parents coming in for a college weekend: Walla Walla University is two minutes from the front door and Whitman is about ten. Whitman Family Weekend is October 22–24 and WWU Family Weekend is October 29–31 — both are weekends when a whole house for the family beats four hotel rooms, and both fill the valley early.
WHAT FALL IS ACTUALLY LIKE HERE
SEPTEMBER is harvest in full swing. The valley smells like fermenting fruit, the winemakers are working long days, and the late-afternoon light is the best of the year. Days are warm, evenings turn cool, and the hot tub stops being an amenity and becomes the plan.
OCTOBER is when the leaves turn and the valley empties out. Foliage in the Blue Mountains, the last of the Main Street farmers market, the Harvest Festival on the 16th and 17th, tasting rooms with breathing room. The indoor fireplace comes back into service on October 1, and from that point the living room is where the evening ends. Late October is college family weekends — Whitman the 22nd to 24th, WWU the 29th to 31st.
NOVEMBER brings Fall Release Weekend — November 6 to 8, when the valley's wineries release their new vintages and the whole region turns out for it. It is the best wine weekend of the year to be here, and it books early. Then Thanksgiving, which this house is unusually good at, for reasons below.
TWO FULL KITCHENS. TWO OVENS. TWO DINING TABLES. This is the thing no other group house in this valley offers, and in autumn it is the whole argument.
Cooking Thanksgiving, or any big meal, for nine people in a normal vacation rental means one oven, one counter, and a queue. Here you have two complete kitchens on two floors — two ovens, two ranges, two full-size refrigerators, two dishwashers — plus two dining tables and bar seating. One guest counted it up and noted the house seats "well over" nine between the two tables and the bar.
THE HOT TUB, AND WHY THE COVER MATTERS Private, on a covered deck. From late September onward, sitting outside in the cold with the last glass of the day becomes the reason you booked a house instead of rooms — and because the deck is covered, an autumn rain shower does not cancel the evening.
THE FIREPLACE In service October 1 through April 30. A guest who stayed last December wrote: "The living room was comfortable and the fireplace was my favorite." It is out of service May through September; if you are visiting in September and want it, message us and we will see what we can do.
INSIDE THE HOUSE UPSTAIRS — Three king bedrooms, the main kitchen, the living room with the fireplace, and two full bathrooms, all on a single level with its own private entrance. No stairs at all, which matters more than people expect when there are grandparents or bad knees in the group. DOWNSTAIRS — The fourth king bedroom, the second full kitchen, a second living room and a third full bathroom, with its own private entrance from outside. A spiral staircase connects the two floors inside, so the group stays together or splits up as it likes. BEDS — Four kings, plus a queen sofa bed. For families: a crib, a pack-n-play and a high chair are here. BATHROOMS — Three full baths, stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hair dryers and the rest. Fresh towels throughout. LAUNDRY — Washer and dryer in the home. OUTSIDE — A covered upstairs deck with the hot tub, outdoor seating and an outdoor dining area. A BBQ. A lawn with life-size yard games. A garden. Adirondack chairs on the lower patio.
WHAT YOU GET, EXACTLY We would rather be precise about this than have you guess. Booking Lilac-Rosebud gives you both suites — the entire upstairs and the entire lower Rosebud level. Four bedrooms, three baths, two kitchens, two living rooms, the covered deck, the yard.
There is a third, separate one-bedroom apartment in this building that we rent independently. It is locked off from your space completely, with its own entrance and its own parking. If it happens to be occupied during your stay, the only place you might cross paths is the lower back patio, where those guests walk to their cars. Each downstairs suite has its own set of Adirondack chairs.
ACROSS THE STREET: LIONS PARK The park directly opposite finished a $1.4 million rebuild in 2025, and it is now genuinely one of the best things about this address. An inclusive playground, soccer and baseball fields, a fishing dock, a picnic shelter, restrooms, and a walking and fitness path. Guests travelling with children name it in review after review: "kids had a blast at the nearby park," "a really nice park located across the street with a playground that was great for the kids."
THE VALLEY, FROM HERE Downtown Walla Walla and its Main Street tasting rooms are 8 minutes. Walla Walla University is 2 minutes.
GETTING HERE AND GETTING AROUND Walla Walla Regional Airport (ALW) is about 15 minutes. Bring cars — the wineries spread across six districts and the outer ones need driving.
ONE HONEST NOTE ABOUT THE ADDRESS The house faces a main road through College Place, which makes it easy to find and quick to get in and out of. The bedrooms and the back deck are quiet. Better you read that here than find it in the driveway.

WHY GUESTS KEEP COMING BACK 4.96 stars across 51 stays, with five-star scores for cleanliness, communication, check-in and location.
"The big kitchen and two dining tables made it super easy for everyone to hang out, cook, and eat together. The layout is a little unique, but it actually works great for a big group — lots of space to spread out without feeling disconnected."
Fall Release Weekend, the family weekends, the harvest weekends and Thanksgiving all go first in Walla Walla, and there are only so many houses here that sleep nine properly. If your group has been meaning to do this trip, this is the season to do it.

OTHER DETAILS TO NOTE: Heating & Cooling: Because the separate third apartment in this building shares the central heating and cooling system, we manage the thermostat rather than leaving it on the wall — it keeps the temperature fair for everyone. Message or text us any time, day or night, and we will adjust it right away. There is also a space heater in the downstairs bedroom and portable fans in the home.
The Separate Apartment: A one-bedroom apartment in the lower level of the building is rented independently and is locked off from your space. If it is occupied you may hear those guests, and they may hear you — which is why we ask that quiet hours be honored. A noise monitor will alert you if decibel levels get high; it measures volume only and does not record conversations.
Sleeping for 9: Four king bedrooms plus a queen sofa bed. Three kings are upstairs on one level with no stairs; the fourth is on the lower level with the second kitchen and living room, reachable by its own outside entrance or the interior spiral staircase.
Parking: Room for three vehicles in the front driveway, plus the back cul-de-sac on Brentwood Place and street parking.
EV Charging: A 220V charger is available in the driveway. Bring your own cable for your vehicle.
Safety: Fire extinguishers, first aid kits, smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors are located throughout the home.
Cancellation Policy: We follow the cancellation policy in place at the time you booked, as shown in your confirmation. If there is any chance you may need to cancel, we recommend purchasing travel insurance at checkout. Refunds are not provided outside the booked policy for weather, illness, or travel disruptions.
No Pets and No Smoking: There is a strict no-pets and no-smoking policy for the benefit of all guests with allergies. Any known abuse of this policy may result in a substantial fine.
Outdoor Cameras: Security cameras are at both entrances to the house for your safety. They may be recording video and audio. There are no indoor cameras.
Damage Protection: A damage waiver is included with your cleaning fee and covers any accidental damage during your stay. Intentional damage, and any damage requiring additional deep cleaning, will be your responsibility. Please let us know of any damage so we can remedy it for our next guests.
