7BDRM Big White View Chalet - Perfect for Several Families!
Our 2800 sqft chalet is a versatile layout with ample space for families skiing together with a 1700sqft upper 4 bedroom suite over two floors and 1100sqft ground floor three bedroom suite. The suites are connected by a covered external staircase. Enjoy magnificent views of the Monashee mountains relaxing in the hot tub, while preparing meals in either kitchen or BBQ, or in the living areas after a great day of champagne powder skiing. Located a 750m ski-out to the Snowghost, Ridge Rocket Lifts (both access the mountain/skiing) and the Plaza Lift (to the village) plus the Ridge Day Lodge. It is a 85m ski-in for advanced skiers via rear of property or a 215m ski-in for beginners back home to the chalet.
In the summer, hike or mountain bike the trails. Enjoy one of the many events held up at Big White during the summer. The lifts run during the summer weekends.
Our rather rustic chalet is perfect for several families or an extended family who are looking to enjoy a ski holiday together. The entire chalet, consisting of two suites over three floors, works really well for a large group and as described - normally several families or an extended family (no parties sorry people!).
Suite A has 4 bedrooms (1 King bed on the main floor, 2 Queen bed, 1 Double beds on the upper floor). There is a small amount of either cupboard or drawer space in each room plus hooks for hanging clothes and towels. Two of the upper bedrooms are traditional chalet loft-style with one curtained wall - draw the curtains back to reveal outstanding Monashee mountain views. The chalet has been built by skiers for skiers featuring an open kitchen with in-floor heating, dining area and a bar which has numerous uses from music, extra bar fridge or extra seating area for the kids/teens at dinner. The dining table seats 8 and we have additional stools to fit more around the table. There are two bathrooms in Suite A (one on each level) each with in-floor heating. Each suite has a laundry complete with washer and dryer. Both suites have hanging areas to dry ski gear or washing. The entrance to Suite A opens into a boot room before you enter the kitchen.
Suite A kitchen is supplied with an induction stovetop and cookware, slow cooker, rice cooker, blender, hand blender, dishwasher, microwave, electric range oven, espresso coffee machine, bodem and also drip coffee maker, teapot, toaster. The dining table seats 8, with additional stools and with overflow seating with barstools around the bar area.
Ground-level Suite B has 3 bedrooms each with a double bed and a single bunk above. The kitchen is supplied with an electric ceramic stovetop, electric range oven and cookware, slow cooker, rice cooker, dishwasher, microwave, oven, espresso maker, french press, drip coffee maker, toaster. The bathroom has in-floor heating. The dining table seats. Each suite has an HD 42" TV with a movie on demand and an Apple TV in each suite.
Park 4-5 cars depending on the snowpack. There is overflow parking in Snow Pines estate but no parking on the road.
We manage our own chalet and are regularly on the mountain. If you need help at our chalet outside of this time we have a long list of Big White based cleaners, hot tub service, plumbers, emergency services. Our cleaners help us with anything our guests may need during their stay.
We are happy to speak to our guests to answer any questions you may have, letting you know we are easy to contact and to ensure you have a comfortable stay on your Big White holiday! If you would prefer to communicate over email that suits us too. We look forward to speaking with you.
Snow Pines estate is one of the original neighbourhoods of Big White. We love our location as it is out of the village but still close to the three main lifts (Snowghost, Ridge and Plaza) which access the mountain (leading off to Gem or the main mountain) and Plaza lift. The Plaza lift allows you to go up to the village for ski lessons, equipment or a meal. The plaza lift also allows you to access Bullet Lift which offers night skiing. Please note that you must be on skis to catch the lift.
For those who enjoy stretching their legs, you can enjoy the walk (or snowshoe) along the lit Snowpines Walk to the village (it is about a comfortable 20 minutes walk). The gondola in the village takes you down to the Nordic skiing and snowshoe area, tubing, children's Skidoo, ice climbing, horse and dog sled rides, skating at Happy Valley.
For the non-skiers, beginner skiers or simply tired skiers there is a shuttle bus to and from Snowpines to the Village.
All of the village, Happy Valley, Black Forest, Gem Lake can be reached by a short car ride. The final price will include GST, PST and MRDT tax, all required to be collected by us by the Canadian Revenue Agency.

We had a great stay with 10 adults and 5 kids. We had more than enough room and it was so nice having two suites with full kitchens. The place was cozy, clean and rustic... we loved it
We had a group of 6 adults and 6 teens and this house with its two units worked great for us as the teens could have their own space. The house is very well appointed and as described.
One thing to note is that in the upper unit there are a couple steps between the kitchen / bathroom / bedroom and the living room / dining room / deck. This was a slight complication as one member of our group is disabled and has difficulty with steps. There were also a few minor maintenance issues left from a previous tenant - but the owner was extremely proactive with communication and went out of their way to ensure the house was in perfect shape by the time we arrived. A great house and a great experience - thanks for it sharing with us.
This is a great house for a big group!! Lots of bedrooms, good wifi, a cupboard filled with board games, dish Tv. The kitchen is very modern & well stocked. Easy to ski in/out. Lots of room for ski gear. Loved the hot tub after skiing. The owner was very prompt to answer questions & seemed genuinely interested in making our stay great! Would definitely stay again!
No complaints about this place! Beds we very comfortable, lots of room to hang out. And wood fire place was a wonderful perk!

The place was okay and as advertised but we had some issues like locked outside for a couple hours because the code to the house was wrong. Issues with washing machine and hot tub was being serviced. Confirm whats working before booking.

Clean, comfortable, with great upgrades and well appointed for cooking and eating
We enjoyed the combination of group space on the upper level and the ability for separation of living space in the lower level for bedtime and down times. The unit was very clean when we arrived and the upgrades to the kitchen and bathrooms are very nice.
Beds were comfortable and the hot tub was appreciated as we had quite cold temps while skiing.
We liked the location as well, preferring less busy areas.

Beautiful, spacious, well-equipped chalet - perfect for family reunion
Fantastic place for our 16+ family gathering - very clean, cozy, quiet, inviting, and comfortable, with ample space and supplies for our crowd to share time together, as well as apart. Everything we needed was there - just as described - and helped make our stay so easy. Eating out on the deck was extra special, as the chalet provides gorgeous views of the mountains. Communication with the owners was excellent (both before and during our stay) - always prompt, helpful, and informative. Enjoyed our stay at Hahnenkamm Chalet immensely, and happily recommend it to anyone looking for accommodation near Big White.

Great for Large Groups / Families
Our group had an amazing time at the chalet!! Although the owners live out of country, they had great communication and were helpful with any questions we had during our stay. The chalet has a great location by the shuttle and slopes. We had both units for our group and they were both exceeded our standards. You can't go wrong with the view from the hot tub! Thank you for the amazing time in Canada!!

Very well maintained comfortable clean and convenient for our large family group.
Everything we needed was there. All the details considered to make our stay easy. Well maintained and clean but comfortable and not too fussy for our large family group with small children and two dogs. A true classic ski chalet. The two loft rooms upstairs with one curtain wall facing the front were much more private than I expected. We rented both suites and the outdoor staircase between was more protected and easy than we expected. Overall met all of our expectations and more. Owners very responsive when needed. Highly recommended

Perfect place for 4 families
The Hannenkahm Chalet was a fantastic place for 4 families to stay. It's an easy ski-in, ski-out location and the skiing at Big White is tremendous, with terrain for all skier levels. The drive from Seattle was easy and uneventful. The Chalet itself is beautiful. It is well-stocked with towels, cooking implements, etc. The hot tub view is amazing. The beds and bedding are extremely comfortable. The spaces were versatile and great for a large group. The owners are so responsive and welcoming, in spite of living out of the country. We highly recommend the Hannenkahm Chalet, as long as our dates don't conflict with yours :)

About the host
Hosted by Edwina & Dave
Edwina (Australian) and Dave (Canadian) met in Vancouver in the '90s. We loved ski trips to Big White so much we bought our home here! We renovated the property extensively in 2012/13 replacing balcony, hot tub, external facade, kitchens, bathrooms, beds, wiring, heaters, in-floor bathroom and kitchen heating, roof and the list went on :).
Dave and Edwina currently live in Singapore with their two teenage boys. They love to return to Big White. We enjoy travelling and the great outdoors.
Why they chose this property
We chose this property for quite possibly the same reason you are interested in renting it. We wanted somewhere large enough that we could holiday with other families and our extended family all while enjoying an active holiday.
What makes this property unique
Magnificent views of the Monashee Mountains. Vaulted pine ceilings. Two well-equipped kitchens to prepare meals. Spacious living area. Enjoy the privacy of renting a whole home. Suite A laundry has a bench to be able to tune your equipment.
