Connect to the earth at this charming cabin on the West Fork of Little River located on a private, 2-acre wooded lot on a dead-end street and just 5 minutes from Moon Lake Village and downtown Mentone! Secluded but not isolated. Close to everything.
Two queen bedrooms and 2 baths on the main floor, one queen bedroom and bath on the second floor. Fully equipped kitchen (we cook with our family here, too). Living/dining combo with a gas fireplace.
Great gathering spaces inside and out including a large heated screened porch, a deck, a fire pit, a charcoal grill and a dock for putting in your kayak or paddle board, fishing and swimming.
The living room floor-to-ceiling windows make the cabin feel like a treehouse. Beautiful green all around and gorgeous sunsets. Even on rainy days you can enjoy the outdoors on the heated screened porch and on the lower covered patio.
The only television is in the living room making it is a great place to hang out together and watch TV while playing games or working jigsaw puzzles. There are games and puzzles upstairs.
The TV's Guest Mode is designed to protect your information and keep your accounts secure. All Login information is automatically deleted upon checkout.
Libby Lane has fast internet, so if you want to stream on your devises in other rooms, you can.
Family owned since 1975, this is where we raised our daughters, taking hikes, enjoying picnics in the woods, climbing rocks, fishing, and jumping into the river to cool off.
To fully enjoy the property, we have created a circular trail along the riverbank from the dock to the other side of the property then back up on simple stone steps next to a lovely wet-weather creek.
This trail is great for a short hike around the property or for fishing along the riverbank. A morning walk with coffee is very relaxing. Please enjoy the plants (ferns, galax, wild ginger, mountain laurel, rhododendron) the rock formations (including a tiny cave) and the birds you will see and hear (pileated woodpeckers, red-shouldered hawks, barred owls, and more).
Sorry, insurance won’t allow for use of the boats, but please bring your own kayak or paddle board.
You can put your boat in at our dock or you can drive to DeSoto Falls, put in and paddle from there. There is a parking charge at the falls of $4.00.
This section of the West Fork of Little River has a dam at both ends so paddling is easy. One dam is at DeSoto Falls, the other is at Camp Skyline. Our cabin is almost half-way between the two (but a little closer to DeSoto Falls). From our dock you would paddle left to go to the falls and right to paddle to the camp.
Round trip from dam to dam is about 4 miles and takes about 3 to 3.5 hours.
You can also rent kayaks at DeSoto Falls, most weekends May - October. Call DeSoto State Park for information.
