This is an amazing home in the heart of Asheville yet carefully placed upon the natural mountainside off Town Mountain Rd. The home is perfect for a family gathering, a retreat with friends, or for a relaxing space to take in the mountain views. With three master suites, a theater room/Pub, billiards room, library, huge eat in kitchen overlooking the clouds and four levels of living space you won’t want to leave! Have you ever wanted to cook on an $18,000 Thermador Pro Grand 60" commercial stove? Now is your chance! In a foodie town like Asheville you will find the best farmers markets and culinary treats you can imagine so why not enjoy the finest gourmet kitchen around?
There is so much room in this home everyone can enjoy privacy or gather for family fun.

The main floor houses the formal living room with fireplace and baby grand piano, library, kitchen, laundry room and king suite with private balcony. Off the kitchen and living room, you can enjoy the sunrise or sunset from the wrap around upper deck. The deck features lounge chairs and a dining table and chairs. We have a gas BBQ grill to keep you outside enjoying the view while you cook.

The theater room is located off the main level on the left wing of the house, and is equipped with a projection screen, and surround sound system for the ultimate theater experience. Enjoy the murals painted by the same local artist who painted Asheville Pizza. The experience is truly unique and truly Asheville. There is a half bath and bar so you will not need to leave once the movie starts! We have TONS of movies to choose from or you can stream any of your personal favorite shows from your device or login. The theater room also has 4 twin beds for overflow sleeping if needed (can sleep 4 guests), and also has toy bins full of Lego bricks and toys for the kids and makes for a popular overflow sleeping area for children. Two provided queen airbeds fit nicely in the theater room as well.

The second story is accessible from the main level off the foyer. This level has one queen bed bedroom and one queen bed bedroom with an additional twin bed (sleeps 3). There is a full bath located between the two rooms.

The lower level has 2 king master suites with full baths, a private double bedroom, a billiards room and second pub, a living room area, and a covered deck with a 6 person hot tub and sweeping mountain views. You will find many games and puzzles in this area as well as a large screen TV.

Our kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessary appliances and cookware for a Thanksgiving feast! The 60" gas range with double oven and two full size refrigerators are a real bonus in the gourmet spacious kitchen. You will not need to bring a thing to enjoy this home!

All linens, towels, paper products and cleaning supplies are provided. We also have two queen air mattresses for additional sleeping if needed. For those traveling with babies we provide two portable cribs and two highchairs.

This property is perfectly located on a mountain side with plenty of woodland privacy and great views but also within a 10 minute drive of downtown Asheville. The house floor plan gave each of the four couples in our group comfortable, well appointed bedrooms and private baths. We also had plenty of “together space” whether in the gourmet kitchen, downstairs game room, or media room. The host has all the details covered - from kitchen utensils to bedside charging stations…and communications with Kerri were smooth. Our annual cousins retreat has been held at many incredible places but this one was the group favorite.

Beautiful, well-equipped house was perfect for a family reunion. The host was very responsive and helpful. Arrival note: The driveway was a bit daunting when we arrived but there is plenty of room at the bottom to park and turn around.

Beautiful house, easy to reach downtown Asheville, easy to work with property owners. It's a mountain house, so the driveway is steep, the house is three levels, and you will most definitely see some bears wandering around, but the view is lovely, the house is great to relax in or entertain in or simply hang out and watch a movie in the theater room. If you want to explore, it's easy to get to the restaurants and shops in Asheville, the Biltmore etc.

Terrific House

My family loved the house- it is beautifully decorated and equipped with almost anything we needed. Our hostess quickly responded to any and all of our questions and concerns. The large and beautiful kitchen was excellent for the crowds we had during the day. This house made our family reunion wonderful!

Best VRBO ever!

Our 3 generation family had a wonderful time staying in Kerri’s beautiful home. We have family reunions with our daughters and their families and feel this home is the most beautiful we have ever stayed at. The owners had plenty of toys, books, and items for the children. The views are tremendous and the hot tub and movie theater added to our time together. We hope to return again !

Great family reunion home!

We were visiting Asheville for a family wedding. We had 10 people stay in the house and it was wonderful! We all had plenty of space to ourselves and enjoyed the huge kitchen for breakfasts and lunches. Additional fun interests - we saw 2 bears coming down the driveway, at separate times!

Extremely nice place with lots of room for a larger family!

We stayed in this house for my mother in law’s birthday. The whole family came with age ranges of 9 - 75 and there was something for everyone! The kids loved the movie theater and pool table and I enjoyed the hot tub. Everyone else seemed to enjoy lounging and relaxing. We will definitely stay here again!

Perfect for Christmas

The house met all our expectations. Close to Asheville to visit the Biltmore and other sites, plenty of bedrooms for everyone, and plenty of in-house entertainment with a huge media room, hot tub, and billiards table. Jay and Kerri were perfect hosts, even giving us a jump start when one of our vehicles failed to start.

Amazing, 10/10, Best Location

We just had the most amazing girls weekend here for my sister’s Bachelorette party. We couldn’t believe we found such an incredible home just 5 minutes from downtown yet in the mountains with beautiful views. The house was the perfect size for 10 girls. Everything was extremely clean and we loved the large kitchen and dining area (highly recommend a private chef - we used Crackerjack Chef and Chef Michelle was fantastic!). Kerri was so easy to work with and answered all my questions. I would 100% recommend the house for a getaway with friends, couples or families.

90th birthday

The property was lovely, house comfortable for our family of 8, one of whom was handicapped. We loved the spacious deck on main level even though the door to the kitchen area wouldn't open. The house is close to downtown and Ubers had no problem finding it. The hot tub and theater provided entertainment for some of our party. One suggestion - better lighting and lamps in downstairs bedrooms - they were SO dark, It was impossible to read in bed! I felt like I was in a cave. The living room also seemed very dark.

Family Reunion-room for everyone!

Impressive property! Ten of us (grandparents plus two other couples) four grandchildren (19- 8). Two in theatre with electric guitar and NEVER heard him! Comfortable beds/bathrooms appreciated.Deck on the main floor-popular, especially with the grandparents, who enjoyed morning coffee with birds (download Merlin Bird ID - Cornell Univ). Also enjoyable with light rain/water cascading through ornamental downspouts.We entertained other families staying in the area for 80th birthday celebration! Highly recommend “AVL Cake Lady” carrot-cream chesse middle-cake (referred to as “Crunch”. You can order online- pick up time.)We did bring with us some lap trays for the big dinner. Dinning table seats 12 and the little cousins in the 3 kid deck chairs with a side table outside. Several others on the deck too. Two ovens and refrigerators/ice! Yay!The hot tub, pool table, and corn hole set were used. Some adult cousins stayed for Texas Hold ‘em (son brought his poker chips and cards). They could Uber back to downtown easily.I don’t recommend walking on Vance Gap Rd due to bears. Our first morning met a visitor to the area out running who came upon two different bears. We gave her a ride back to her house. We loveld an area of historic homes on Edwin Place off Charlotte to walk in.Harris-Teeter, Tradder Joes nearby with a Starbucks and City Bakery few blocks away and a big Ingles- with Starbucks in the opposite direction.This property well worth it!

Hot Tubbing with Bees and slow internet

The property was very nice, location amazing. Tons of bedrooms. Problem was.... the hot tub was unusable. There was a massive hornets nest above it (with dozens of active hornets on the outside of the nest), and a yellow jacket nest near by. We got in the tub and 10 bees in less than 10 mins surrounded us. I texted the owner with no response -ever. Also the "movie theater" did have a big screen, and nice microwave set up... BUT the internet doesnt go that far in the house sooo you cant stream anything to watch. It was kinda a bummer that we picked this house for the hot tub and movie theater for our kids to enjoy and didn't enjoy either of them.

We recently stayed at Kerri’s place in Asheville, North Carolina for four days during our son’s wedding, and it turned out to be the perfect home base for such a special occasion. Our family ranged in age from 3 to 81, and the house truly accommodated everyone beautifully.One of the highlights was the large kitchen and living area, which quickly became the central gathering spot. It gave us the opportunity to prepare meals together, enjoy relaxed mornings, and spend quality time as a family — a much better alternative than eating out every meal. At the same time, the house offered plenty of quiet nooks and private spaces, so everyone could find a cozy spot to unwind when needed.We especially appreciated the toy box provided, which kept the toddler in our group happily entertained throughout the entire trip — such a thoughtful touch.We loved the splendid views from the back porch, which made the home feel like a peaceful retreat tucked away in the mountains. At the same time, downtown Asheville and our wedding venue were only a quick five-minute drive away, giving us the best of both worlds: serenity and convenience. To top it off, we even had a bear sighting on our last day, which made for a memorable and uniquely Asheville experience!Overall, Kerri’s place provided everything we could have hoped for — comfort, space, scenery, and location. We would highly recommend it for any family gathering or special event in Asheville.

We had a great time! Everything about the house was exactly as described and the owner was also accessible for questions. Loved the referrals to area places.This was a little family reunion with 9 adults and a 6-mo old. So we even used the portacrib and high chair provided. Well-stocked kitchen, comfy sheets and towels, and a really nice long table for our meals with a fabulous view. If we do this again in future, we'll see if this house is available for certain! Couldn't ask for anything better!

The house was great. Very spacious. Well appointed. New furnishings. Comfortable. One of the best stocked houses I've ever stayed in. Things were new, clean, well-organized etc.It is maybe 1.5 miles to town and shopping. So, very convenient from that perspective. The short drive down the steep windy road requires patience and focus and it makes it difficult to walk into town but otherwise a wonderful, highly recommended place to stay. We did have a bear in the driveway which was a highlight of the stay. Owners were great. COmmunicative and helpful. The 4 vs 5 star rating was more a VRBO thing. I would prefer to directly email the owners vs. go through the VRBO which I find a bit clunky.

Great for our group! We had plenty of spaces to spread out for conversations. The kitchen was very large and well-stocked for group meals. Having a few activity spaces was nice - movies, hot tub, billiards kept us entertained. The view included a busy highway and a construction site - listing could be updated…

I have lived in Asheville for over 30 years....15 in this house. I have enjoyed living less than 2 miles from downtown, its amenities, culture, food, and of course, breweries. I have camped, rock climbed, rafted and hiked more weekends than I can count with my son and friends. I hope my decision to downsize a bit allows you and your family to enjoy the house and location as much as I have.

Why they chose this property

There is so much going on all the time in Asheville that you will not run out of things to do. More popular for first time visitors would be the Biltmore House, Chimney Rock Park or a short trip to Lake Lure (where Dirty Dancing was filmed). There are a staggering number of excellent restaurants to choose from and night life that ranges from Burlesque shows to plays and symphonies.

What makes this property unique

This property is an excellent getaway and you won't find ANY this close to downtown with the privacy you are afforded here. In the summer, you can't even see the nearest neighbor and in the winter, you can see one roof. With 3 of the 6 bedrooms being master suites, families can vacation together and each feel like they got the best room in the house! Two levels of decks allow you to enjoy the outdoors, rain or shine. The addition of your own home theater with a 13 foot screen, theater seating for 18, and a 6 person hot tub top off your experience. We also provide children's toys, books and movies, corn hole, a library full of books and camping chairs to take with you on a hike if you like. We have tried to think of everything but if you need something special just let us know and we will do our best to meet your request.
