The historic Jefferson House, nestled in a vital and charming Victorian District neighborhood, offers elegant and comfortable accommodations -- 4 bedrooms/4.5 baths -- for up to 8 people. Now with relaxed cancellation/payment policies and enhanced cleaning, the home's central location puts you within a 2 block walk to Forsyth Park, area restaurants, shops and bars. Heading north just a few blocks, the Landmark District begins.
The Jefferson House has been lovingly renovated and retains its historic details and layout. Decorated with simple elegance, this bright and spacious house is furnished with plush, comfortable couches and chairs. Sturdy occasional tables ensure you have a place to set your sweet tea or a glass of champagne, while recessed lights can set the mood for evening. Turn on the many period-appropriate lamps and curl up with one of the books on Savannah or regional history from the library shelves. Or slide up to the breakfast bar in the spacious, bright kitchen with French doors for coffee or lunch and conversation.
Jefferson House retains its triple-parlor first floor, which is perfect for groups large and small. These three areas are open to one another, yet each has its own focal point. Furniture is grouped for intimacy without creating barriers to the rest of the space. Socialize like residents did in the days of yore, with some interacting in the front parlor, and others playing games in the second. Today the "games" might be replaced with a movie on the flatscreen TV, but one thing is certain: each guest can have his or her own space and be able to socialize with those in one of the other parlor areas. The house is perfect for large families, or maybe two families, without stepping on one another's toes. It is popular with wedding groups, "girls'" reunions, family gatherings and marathon runners.
Upstairs the 4 bedrooms all have full baths en suite. One bedroom has its own porch. Each suite is simply decorated for comfort and function. The bedrooms are spacious, with plenty of closet space and a chair for reading or relaxing. (One bedroom features a desk and chair; and there is another desk downstairs for everyone's use.) Fresh linens, quality mattresses and extra bedding and pillows help ensure a good night's sleep. Three bedrooms have queen beds, and one has two twins -- great for kids!
Between the formal dining room and the well-equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar, there is no shortage of places to eat and enjoy each other's company. Casual or formal: the Jefferson House fits the bill.
In addition to being 2 blocks from Forsyth Park, Jefferson House is a short walk to the Landmark District. Here you'll wander through squares lined with amazingly grand historic homes and shaded with sprawling live oaks, draped with Spanish moss. Continue on to superb shopping on lively Broughton Street and the city's many downtown museums, ending at Savannah's famous River Street and the river, where huge container ships come from all over the world.

Thanks for the great review! We love to offer Jefferson House’s 4 bedroom/4.5 bath arrangement. With 4 full bathrooms en suite, our guests can get ready faster & w more privacy than they might w 2 or 3 baths. Makes for a full day in Savannah!
This beautiful home was perfect for the eight of us (4 couples) to attend several events over 3 days at Hotel Bardo and Forsyth Park…an easy 5 minute walk from the house. It is about a 25 minute (1 mile) walk from downtown, but the enjoyable walk is through beautiful historic neighborhoods. The house has PLENTY of space with well furnished living areas and a large kitchen. The four bedrooms, each with a private bathroom are adequately sized with comfortable beds.If I get back to this great City I won’t hesitate to rent this home again!
Perfect for 8 people! Walkable to Forsyth Park and downtown. Clean and hosts responded immediately and appropriately to a small issue. Kitchen was big and usable and all the bathrooms were so convenient. Great to have off street parking.
The house was perfect for us!We were on a Girls trip. There was 6 of us, so having 4 bedrooms with their own bathroom was a big plus!! The home was clean and welcoming. The host was very quick to respond to any questions we had.

Thank you for the great review! We’re really happy you & your friends enjoyed staying at Jefferson House. Yes, the 4.5 bathrooms make a difference.
The house was very clean and functional. An older home always has a few characteristics that need attention. We all enjoyed the comfort of the house. The neighborhood is very walkable and lovely.
We had a girls weekend of 6 women . We thought house was great , the host was great and responsive with great communication. The location was really great we walked everywhere . Felt safe in and outside the home . House had all amenities you need although we were not there much and did no cooking . Highly recommend for price and location
This home met all of our needs for a week's stay. It is in a great location, and the host was very quick to respond when I had questions.

Thank you for the 5-star review! Jefferson House is perfect for stays of a week or longer — and we offer a discount! We’re happy your group was comfortable during your 7-day getaway.
The humidity in Savannah made our bathtubs stink. But once we contacted the host, we found out where the extra towels were and that was wonderful. We are a group of women who love to cook. A few of the kitchen tools were not working. Once we let our Host know, she said she would take care of it. If no one had let her know these things. The house is absolutely beautiful. There were six sisters and we felt very cozy in this amazing house. So fun to just walk right over to Forsyth Park. Thank you Ann for taking good care of us.
The property is in a nice area I have been in Savannah numerous times over the past 5 years and this was one of our better houses we stayed in.

We couldn't have said it better! Jefferson House is a great vacation rental for folks who love to walk. Short walks, long walks, strolling downtown walks! All are possible from our Victorian District location, just a few blocks from Forsyth Park . . . Even visitors who prefer to drive or perhaps bicycle will find our location and off-street parking beneficial.
Thanks again for the review!
We enjoyed our stay. Property was as advertised, clean, spacious, close to Forsyth park and walkable (if your fit) to River street. Host communicated well. Our group truly enjoyed the house.
This house was a perfect setting to celebrate our SCAD bee for graduation weekend. I’m hoping to plan another family trip and staying here again is at the top of my list.

Great location, roomy, comfortable house. Had everything we needed. Wi-fi was a bit choppy, but a small inconvenience.
