My husband and I recently enjoyed a 3-night stay at the Windmill Farmhouse. It is very cozy, comfortable and clean! It was like having two vacations in one-a wonderful, very short drive into Nauvoo during the day and then a peaceful stay in the country in the evenings. The property has wonderful backdrops outside (fields, windmill, barn, silo) that are perfect for photo-ops so don't forget to bring a tripod for your camera! Laura, the host, promptly responded to any inquiries. We will definitely stay there again!

Clean and cozy stay for our family of six. We had plenty of room and could have accommodated even more if needed. The only thing was planning bathroom time as there is only one, but it was not that big of an issue.

Beautiful and very remote farmhouse! Not too far from smaller grocery stores and half an hour from walmart. We enjoyed nearby paid geode hunting locations as well as a public bridge access to Tyson creek ten minutes down the road.We also tried Press House Winery down the road. Great if you like sweet wines! The upstairs was very hot when we got to the house. It wasn't possible to sleep up there for quite a few hours. There is one small bathroom, so even though the listing says 10-12 people, 4-5 adults would be comfortable. Also, the air conditioning struggled to keep up with the hot weekend, and the house was often at 78 to 80 degrees during the day.

We are glad you enjoyed our beautiful, remote farmhouse! I'm glad you got to enjoy geode hunting and some of the other pleasantries of our small town living! As for the air, if we know you are arriving late, we can turn it down for you ahead of time. It was an unusual, exceptionally hot weekend. We can turn the air down lower, next time! Thank you for staying at the Nauvoo Windmill Farmhouse! Please come again.

Place was clean, quiet, cute, had all the amenities. Host was polite and answer quickly. Our family of 10 stayed there comfortably. Only "issue" is that the house only has one bathroom, so it was a little tricky to take turns lol.

We loved the Nauvoo Windmill Farmhouse!! We arrived late at night and got in with the code. It was clean, roomy and close to Nauvoo. We didn't worry about the kids being noisy as we played games and had fun together as there were no other houses around...just fields. We ordered food from Walmart and they delivered to our door. We will definitely stay there again!!

The Windmill Farmhouse was the perfect spot for our family stay over the long Geode Fest weekend. The interior is filled with comfy furniture and thoughtful touches that made it easy to relax after hiking all day. My son especially loved the oversized cushion chairs! The location is out-of-the-way and quiet, but the roads are well-kept, and getting in and out to Keokuk, Nauvoo, and so on was a breeze! The upstairs did get a bit toasty, but the window A/C cooled it down in a jiffy. We just turned it on after dinner, and it was perfectly chilled by bedtime. Highly recommend!

Great spot by Nauvoo

This property is amazing. Rural and quiet. There were six of us and we stayed very comfortably. The beds were comfortable. The blackout curtains were much appreciated! Fans were also in the house to help with airflow. One bathroom could be challenging if you had a lot of people staying at the house, but it was just fine for us. Fireflies are EVERYWHERE at dusk! Kitchen was nice & stocked. Washer & dryer were great. Lots of places to sit and relax. The kids appreciated the bean bag chairs! If we are back in the area we will stay here again!
