Enjoyed the cottage! Very clean! Loved the view and the screen porch! Beautiful beach!
The path down to the beach is why I didn’t give 5 stars. Uneven and sharp edges on a lot of the path stones. Furniture needs updating but it’s a really nice place! Had a great time!!!
My family got together here to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday, and the property was perfect for 8 of us (one family of 4 and 2 couples). We found the cottage really charming and enjoyed the open floorplan and the vintage midcentury feel in the main area of the home...not to mention the view of the woods and the lake through the huge wall of windows and the wide deck outside. It was easy for all of us to spend time together without feeling cramped. The arrangement of the bedrooms gave each group in our party separate accomodations to retreat to and separate bathrooms that worked very well for us. The property sits on a great stretch of shoreline with a short-ish trail to the beach. We lucked out with some warm late September weather and spent lots of time at the shore with the kids. Would definitely stay again.

The perfect Lake Michigan home for any occasion.
Sitting on the balcony or screened in sun porch listening to the waves was so soothing. The house takes you back in time a bit but all the modern conveniences are there. Great mattresses, nice linens, (could use some new pillows) stainless steel appliances, well stocked kitchen, expanding dining table, ample seating inside and out, all with an incredible view of the lake or the corner fireplace. Bedrooms are large, finished basement allows for additional space for kids, teenagers who want to get way or just a separate area to relax and the water pressure was fantastic. The path to the lake was well groomed, the walk down was a slow decline, it was lined with stones and so close to the dunes. A lot to do in the area but we barely left the home. Carl's Cottage was nothing short of wonderful! Thank you

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
Great location
The location was wonderful; however, the house was not well kept and had tons of spiders, spider webs, moths, silverfish, dust, mouse pouches and bug traps everywhere. Mold in the shower. Mouse droppings in the closet. Really old and frankly gross finishes. Different strokes for different folks but unless the house undergoes a complete clean out, I cannot recommend it. It was not comfortable to stay in bc of the condition. Very disappointing. The agency said they are addressing it so hopefully it is improved for future guests.
We enjoyed our stay at Carl's Cottage! The private beach front is lovely, accessible by a short walk through the woods and down a short (less than 10) set of steps. The linens are fabulous, wonderful pillows, mattresses are firm by not uncomfortable. Plenty of space for our family of 5 to spread out. There are no pantry items (spices etc) provided most likely due to covid-19. The home was spotless, I only rated the cleanliness a 3 because we experienced an overpowering odor upon arriving that belonged to a dead chipmunk behind the washing machine in the laundry room. After that was removed, the odor cleared quickly. Hopefully, housekeeping will be checking for this prior to other guests arrivals :). Communication with the property manager was responsive and prompt. I highly recommend this property!!
A lovely Fall escape in Harbor Country. This property is so relaxing! Even though the weather was cool, there was plenty to do. And the best shops, restaurants and markets are all within a short drive. I highly recommend.
This beautiful property is an absolute oasis. We enjoyed the private beach frontage with an easy walk out. Most of our time was spent at the beach or walking over to the dunes since Warren Dunes State Park is right next door (literally!). At the house, the back porch has a beautiful view of the Lake, which is framed almost artistically by gorgeous trees. Everything was stocked beyond our expectations. The home was super clean and the extra effort to follow COVID cleaning guidelines was fabulous. You and your family will absolutely enjoy this. We had our 3-year-old and 1-year-old with us and they LOVED it.
Such a beautiful home with everything you need. Grill, coffee machine, ample amount of bowls and other serve ware. The private beach is a huge plus and there is the cutest fruit stand off the highway nearby!
Cool house with eclectic furnishings and art. Fantastic location right on Lake Michigan next to Warren Dunes. Only reason I didn't rate it five stars is poor water pressure in kitchen and master bath.

The property was nice but hard to find. I would recommend better signage off the road
This was our annual girls weekend, we had a good time and loved the home and access to the beach. I would recommend fixing the lock on the screen door from the screen porch. Also, the key to the house was a little hard to open and close and there was a musty smell in the home as well. We were not aware of the spiral staircase in the lower level which would have been impossible for one of our friends to maneuver. However, the side door worked well for entry and exit. The back porch was great for viewing and conversation and the fire place worked great. All in all a nice home in the woods with access to the beach. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Very charming and historic
Clean bathrooms and kitchen but do need to put a railing on the stairs going up to the front door- all the way up as it is difficult for anyone who is not real steady on their feet. Would be nice if some of the brush could be removed so the sunset is really viewable.- very nice over all.
