The chalet:

The chalet is in a quiet neighbourhood, a 15-20 minutes walk from the centre of Morzine. It is modern-built and spacious, with four bedrooms, three bathrooms (one en-suite), and a sauna and shower. The open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area is bright, attractive and cosy, with an open fireplace and breathtaking views across to the Alps.

Layout:
Ground floor: entrance; spacious garage that serves as a storage room for skis and boots; sauna and shower; washing machine and dryer; double bedroom with en-suite bathroom.

First floor: Open plan living space; large dining area; well equipped kitchen with dishwasher and lounge with open fireplace (firewood included); TV, DVD/blue-ray player (with large collection of films) and radio + iPod dock; double bedroom; bathroom with bath and shower; separate toilet.

Second floor: double bedroom; bedroom with two single beds; large bathroom with bath and shower; separate toilet.

Outdoors:
There is a large terras behind the house and a balcony on two sides with a picnic table where you can enjoy a sunny lunch. There are three private parking spaces. Right next to and behind the house is a slope where the whole familiy or group can enjoy sledding.

Skiing:
The blue piste ‘Retour des Nants’ runs behind the house and it is possible to ski-in, if snowconditions allow. It leads you to the Pleney gondola, and the centre of Morzine, from where you have access to the entire ski area of the "Portes du Soleil". It's an ideal starting place, without having to use a car.
Alternatively, the free Ski Bus takes you to and from the major lifts in the French part of the ‘Portes du Soleil’. There is a busstop right in front of the driveway.

The village:

Morzine is a busy, cosy and pleasant village with a good supermarket, nice shops and a large village square where a lot of activities take place. Every Monday there is a meet-and-greet with live music, and during the winter season you can enjoy an open-air skating-rink. For those who appreciate après-ski, Morzine has many bars and restaurants, a cinema and a nightclub.

Getting here:
Airport: The nearest airport is Geneva, a 1.5hr drive away.
Train: Trains stop at Cluses or Thonon, a 3/4 hr drive from Morzine.
From Geneva, Cluses and Thonon you can get to Morzine by bus, transfer or rental car.

Access for guests: You have access to the whole house.

Please also note: when there is a lot of snow you will need snow chains and/or a 4x4 vehicle to drive up the entrance way.
It is possible to stay here without a car. If the snowconditions are good, you can ski up to the house. There is a busstop in front of the driveway.

Great stay over February half term. Close to Morzine centre, easy check in, very clean, comfortable beds and great layout of the property. Very responsive property manager. Sauna is a plus after a day on the slopes Highly recommended

This is a fabulous chalet. The host is amazing and very attentive with very fast and positive responses. We were a party of 5 adults who stayed for six nights. The chalet was spotless and everything worked perfectly. The showers and bathrooms were excellent. We stored our skis in town so didn't ski in and out but we took lovely walks in to town each morning and Ubers back after a couple of apres beers so distance from the town is not a problem. We used a local catering company who delivered our breakfasts every morning and a couple of dinners in the evenings. The hosts liaised with giving them access which made everything super easy.Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen and the sauna was a big bonus. Not forgetting the beautiful views from the balcony.We spent evenings sitting around the open fire with our family which was ideal. We hope to come back soon.

Very spacious chalet

Very spacious chalet. Ski in/ski out is very handy though due to lack of snow it was very muddy. The location is good but slightly difficult for shopping if you don’t have a car. That being said it is very doable. There was no coffee or dishwasher tablets when we arrived which would have been nice. The owner was very helpful with information and quick to respond. Overall would recommend.

Family trip

This chalet was well equipped and communication with the owner was excellent. It was reasonably close to Morzine but the walk back from town was up a steep hill - not easy with shopping etc so a car rental is a good idea. The house has a well equipped kitchen and 3 bathrooms. It had a large boot room, sauna and washing facilities. Unfortunately the ground floor bathroom is run on a bayeur system which is noisy. As we specifically wanted 3 bathrooms to allow everyone their privacy, this wasn’t ideal. Also one of the toilets was very close to the kitchen/living area. This may not be an issue for some people but was for our group of 5 adults - not sure how well it would work for 8 adults. Overall though, this is a great chalet

Chalet tout confort et bien placé

Nous sommes partis à 2 couples avec chacun 2 enfants de 4 à 7 ans et avons passé un super séjour. Le chalet est très confortable, grand et bien équipé (l’équipement pour le ski est top avec rangement pour skis, sèche-chaussures etc). Les chambres sont agréables, avec des placards partout. le seul bémol, propre à nous, est que la configuration de 4 chambres situées sur 3 étages différents n’est pas idéal avec des enfants en bas âge. Une piste est située au dessus de chalet, on peut la rejoindre pour partir les pieds aux skis, très pratique, mais avec des petits c’est un peu raide.

Mooi gelegen, huiselijk en van veel gemakken voorzien chalet. Het enige kleine minpunt is dat het niet echt een ski uit/in is want piste "tour du Nants" is praktisch niet te bereiken ondanks dat de piste vlakbij het huis ligt

Comfortable chalet for 8 people

Lovely spacious chalet with well equipt kitchen, very clean. A short scrabble up a steep back garden brings you out onto a road run that ends up at the Pleney lift, alternatively there is an hourly bus that stops at the bottom of the drive way. If you haven't got your own transport don't miss the last bus back home otherwise you're at the mercy of non existent taxi's or have a steep 20min walk home, not a problem unless you're still wearing ski boots! We would love to return.

Chalet les Alpages is in a beautiful situation only 15 minutes walk to the slopes.

We had an amazing ski holiday at Chalet Les Alpages. We were 2 families (4 adults and 4 children) and we found there was more than enough space and the facilities were excellent. The chalet is modern inside and has everything you need including a great sauna which we made use of regularly! The kids loved using the sledges and there were even a selection of DVDs and books. The views of the mountains were stunning with the sun rising and lighting up the breakfast table every morning. Beautiful. The Chalet is also really close to the center of Morzine, the slopes and all that Morzine has to offer. It is also in a brilliant location off Routes des Nantes ski run (blue) which means you can ski all the way down to Le Pleney lift from the Chalet or back to the Chalet from the mountains after a fun days ski. There are plenty of amazing restaurants (La Grange) cafes and an amazing cake shop. We hired our Skis from Felix ski who are a family run business and are really helpful and great with children. The children had great fun in their ski school (easy to ride) and they loved their instructor and made a few new friends. Thoroughly recommend Chalet les Alpages. A real gem.

We are Eelke Wiersma and Erika van Elzakker, a couple since 1982.
We have 4 children ( 3 sons and a daughter). Eelke is a veterinarian and Erika a medical doctor. We live in a small town, near the Hague in the Netherlands.

Why they chose this property

We bought the chalet in 2009, when we were searching for a family house to spend the holidays, not only during the summer but also during the winter season. We and our children were just learning to ski and this was rapidly becoming a passion. This house and its surroundings is more than we have hoped for! We fell in love at first sight with the house because of the views and the spacious rooms and bathrooms. Since then we have spent weeks, days, weekends and small breaks together as a family or with friends and family and sometimes even alone in this lovely house on this great location, skiiing, hiking, biking and enjoying the company, the food and the views.

What makes this property unique

Especially during wintertime the house is perfectally located: near a blue slope. Juste 5 minutes climbing uphill as a warming up leads you to the Retour des Nants. Skiing back to the house is possible (is there is enough snow) and you can all meet for lunch on the sunny terrace. There also is a busstop right next to the driveway.
