Unique Treehouse-Separate Space for Teens! Fire pit,WIFI,Kayak-300 yds to Lake
Relax at this charming and unique getaway in Wedowee boasting 3 inviting bedrooms with 1 queen bed and 2 king beds. The cozy space includes 2 bathrooms with showers/1 tub, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. With amenities like a washing machine, kayak, gas fireplace and fire pit, hammock, 6 USB C/USB charging ports (bring cords!), porch swings, starter Keurig coffee/filters, and WiFi, guests can relax and feel right at home. Each bedroom has a sleep machine to block background noise, and blackout shades are in the primary bedroom. You will travel one mile down a dirt road to our property. Surrounded by trees, you have privacy to enjoy the numerous outdoor sitting areas. While no views of the lake, access is 300 yards down the dirt road for fishing or kayaking. Bring the boat and water toys! There’s plenty of room to park a boat/trailer. The treehouse, separated by a walkway to the main house, is perfect for adults wanting a private getaway or older kids wanting to stay up playing provided games. It tends to gently sway at times, just like a real treehouse! Rest assured it is perfectly safe for you to enjoy. (SAFETY NOTE- Do not let children play in the crawl spaces on the sides of treehouse. Boards are being stored there and are not nailed down, making it a falling hazard. Also, the slate walkways are slippery in the rain. Please use caution. ) WE REQUIRE AT LEAST 1 POSITIVE REVIEW. If your reviews are on another platform we will work with you. This property has 3 exterior cameras with audio capabilities. One points to the entrance, one to the treehouse, and one under the treehouse area. These are for guest safety and to ensure house rules are being followed. The lake levels drop mid October through April, and the treehouse sink is disabled for winterizing from Dec-March.
POWER OUTAGES If there is a power outage, the water will not run as it runs on a pump. We will notify you of estimated repair time if an outage occurs.

We had the most peaceful, serene stay here. In spite of the pecans falling on the porch roof and giving me a heart attack, I'd stay here again and again. It was very clean and very well appointed. The lot is very private which makes you feel like you're in your own little world. The bed was super comfy and the outdoor spaces are wonderful. You truly feel like you're in a peaceful retreat here!

Jodie! Thank you for your kind review. I am so glad you felt the way we do when visiting. We want our guest feel like they are at a retreat with different spaces to tuck away and relax. Come back anytime! You’ll see we have some upgrades thanks to your suggestions. :)
The house was beautiful and the owners were even better! They helped me when our family reunion location was changed and gave options for us. The house did have a smell but it didn’t affect our stay. Would stay again!!

Thank you Madison! We went this weekend and didn’t notice a smell, but I am thankful you shared. I will investigate with our house keeper. We were happy to host you!
Host was amazing. She made check in and check out very easy. Great communication. There was also a very cute welcome basket that made us smile as soon as we walked in.

Alexis, you were a great guest! We would love to host you again sometime.
My husband and I along with two of our friends all celebrate our anniversary on the same day. We booked this location so the guys could enjoy some fishing, we could all spend time together, and still have our own privacy. This place was so beautiful and welcoming the guys didn’t want to ever leave and us girls just wanted to get back home to see the kids! We will definitely be considering this location in the future!

We are so glad to know you enjoyed your visit! We look forward to hosting you anytime.
The place was super cute!!! If your looking for a peaceful get away this is the place to be, but definitely plan around any bad weather, we woke up Saturday and Sunday morning with no power or water that wasn’t fixed till 5. We also didn’t know it was on a dirt road so definitely bring a truck and not a car.

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, a generator is a great idea to have as a backup in case bad weather strikes. We are so sorry the weather didn’t cooperate!
We came in for a wedding. The directions to the house were easy to follow. There was a welcome basket with instructions on how to get to the lake and things to do around the area. We flew in so it was nice to have soap and laundry detergent upon arrival. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals for our family of 4. We were very comfortable staying here and our kids (10yo and 15yo) loved the treehouse! The owner answered our messages promptly. Overall it was a great stay!

Thank you Jennifer! I’m so glad the amenities met your needs and that you enjoyed your stay. We would welcome you back anytime!
We stayed 5 nights at the ‘Tree House’. Absolutely adorable place and it was great to have the 2nd living area! We enjoyed hanging out around the fire pit in the evening and strolls down to lake. We also fell in love with a local donut/coffee/drink shop in Wedoweee - Wake and Shake - is simply awesome. Audrey is a great host and amazing interior decorator!Things to know before you go:1) The house is located in the hills, on a dirt/gravel road (very pretty area). If you are planning to drive a low clearance sports car to the house, you’ll likely scrape. 2) The lake is drawn down during the winter and early spring for maintenance. The water access from the house will be limited until the lake returns to level (I believe this is around April 1). 3) You will not be disappointed with this place!

About the host

I've lived in the Auburn area for over 30 years. I am an elementary librarian at a public school and I love welcoming people into our home. It seemed a natural fit to open our new lake property to others needing a relaxing getaway.
Why they chose this property
The town of Wedowee is very much like Mayberry from the Andy Griffith show! There are great boutique shops downtown, a winery, the Wake & Shake donut shop, and wonderful places to eat. Dollar General is up the road from this propery, and grocery stores are within a 15 minute drive. Cheaha State Park is an hour away-a great place to hike while visiting! There are hikes around this peaceful and quiet neighborhood as well.
What makes this property unique
Having the variety of indoor and outdoor spaces to relax is what drew us to the property, as well as the separate treehouse bedroom. All families with teens who have stayed with us shared the kids LOVED having their own space.
