Overall this property was great and suited our needs very well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! There were a few minor details that didn’t dampen our overall stay but could be improved. One is that in the listing it does not specify that there is not really a separate master bedroom. Two of the bedrooms and a bathroom are separated from the rest by a door. But the king bedroom doesn’t actually have a door-just a partial wall separating. But we made do-just not ideal, and good thing it was all family. It smells like an old house but you only smell it when you first walk in. We did not care for the wood countertops in the kitchen-they felt sticky. Positives outweighed any negatives tho! Anything we needed it was there! Kitchen was well supplied, plus some! Kids loved all the books! Everything was clean. Plenty of room! Main area was spacious with lots of seating. Three bathrooms which all had showers and one whirlpool tub which we didn’t even use. Yard was large and great! Bonfire pit with great chairs! Water was ok near beach but weedy all around. We brought a boat. The lift worked well and the public boat ramp was close by. Lake was fairly quiet in this area. We would definitely stay here again if it worked out! Owner was very pleasant and nice to work with.

Thank you for your response. I do appreciate your input on the layout. The one bedroom that is housed within the master was previously a large laundry room that was then converted to a room. We have placed that large divider cabinet so this affords privacy for those sleeping in the master bed and there is a door on this bedroom to allow for privacy should a guest stay there. As far as the kitchen counters are concerned, we plan to replace those wood countertops this coming year as we have had to have them resealed a number of times. We are glad that the remainder of the home met your needs and that you had a great time!
This is an ideal property for Grandma, Grandpa, 3 Kids and spouses and 8 grandkids. We had an awesome time. Plenty of room to spread out, even on a rainy day.

Thanks for staying at our home. We do love how much space there is for families to spread out!
This property was great for our group. We all had plenty of room and although we didn’t cook or use much of the amenities, it was clear the home was well stocked. The beds wet comfy and everything was clean.

We hope to have you back again in the future. We are glad your stay was great!
So spacious, they have everything you would possibly need in the kitchen and through out the property.
Only disappointment we had was we had to make our own beds. The built in bunks are really hard.
Anne (the owner) was GREAT to work with.

We are glad you had all you needed during your stay. As far as making beds is concerned, we have found that renters have preferred clean folded sheets set out on beds so that they are sure the linens are clean and fresh. We do understand that this can be a hassle for some. We hope you stay again with us in the future.
We had a group of 22 people, ranging from 0-55 years old. There were 8 families, so a lot of bedrooms was a must. This house had enough space for us inside and out. We enjoyed the backyard, beach, playset, campfire and lake. Would love to come stay again!

We were blessed to find this property for our annual family getaway. It was everything we hoped for and more. Our large family had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy each other's company. It was a very relaxing peaceful environment. We all agreed that this is definitely a place to come back to.

Hope to have you return in the future! Thank you for your kind words.
Our annual cookie baking weekend was spent at this home and we all enjoyed it so much! Sleeping arrangements for 8 different families - kids young and old all had a place to sleep, the kitchen amenities were more than we could have imagined, the kids had so much fun finding many great hiding spots for hide and seek and we also spent a lot of our day playing outside.
The hosts were awesome to work with and always prompt to respond to any questions.
Thank you so much for making our trip another memorable one! We hope to come back!

We hope you return! It was such a fun thing to know that our home was being used for your annual cookie baking weekend. Now if only we could have partaken in eating the cookies!!!
We had 13 guests for Friendsgiving and loved every minute of our stay. There are plenty of spaces to gather, a huge kitchen right off the living/dining room, and cute rooms for all the guests. The location is great, even in the fall/winter without swimming available, the lake is beautiful and it’s a very short trip to Leaf Valley Mercantile for a drink. Check-in and out is super easy and clearly explained. Highly recommend!

Easy to get in and out. Easy to find. Lots of bedrooms to accommodate all ages. High chairs, kid cups and silverware a bonus. We used the bonfire pit in the fall. Was nice off the lake. We slept well and out kids enjoyed the bunk beds.

So glad the place worked well for your crew and that you were able to enjoy the bonfire pit!
This is our second year renting this spot and it was even better than we remember. It was even cleaner. A couch that was getting old was replaced. And the new chairs by the fire pit were AWESOME! 😍 That was our new favorite spot. However we do still love the screen porch for morning coffee. 😉 It is hard to find so many rooms and beds and with a bunch of 60 something old high school pals, it is kind of a must. And btw, the kitchen is really well stocked with pots, pans and dishes. If there was one complaint, the beach is unswimmable. So many stinky weeds. It may just have been that time of year and how the wind was blowing. Buy truly, a wonderful, wonderful spot! We will be back! 🥰

Bridget,
Thanks for your kind review. We did indeed invest in a weedroller this year to help with the weeds.
What a gem! The house is just gorgeous, equipped with everything we could possibly need, the grounded are beautiful, and the lake setting truly stunning. The house is light and bright, no oppressive dark cabin feel.

The brightness of the home really is a bonus! So glad you had a great time!
It is hard to find a house with enough space for myself, my parents, and my 4 siblings and their families to stay comfortably, but this house fit the bill. Each family unit had its own bedroom, plus a couple extra for the older kids—every person had a bed to sleep on. Further, the living space was big and comfortable enough for us all to dine at the same time and hangout with one another. Combine that with a lovely outside space, nice beach for swimming, and a nice winery in the area and a boat rents and we had a very lovely family reunion. Highly recommend for families.

Feeling happy that we were able to provide a place for your family to gather!
We had a wonderful time! The space was perfect for our large multi family group and all being on one level was great, especially with small children. The flat lot, sandy beach and play set were great for kids and adult alike. We were able to build sand castles, play yard games and watch littles all at the same time. We had a few questions leading up to arrival and Anne was easy to communicate with and very responsive. Definitely plan on coming back!

Thank you for staying and we really do love the one level layout as well and are glad that you found that layout to be helpful for your family as well. Thanks for taking such great care of our home!
Anne and Mark's house was amazing. It was spacious and an ideal space for my family to hang out for the weekend. The one-floor set-up made it easy to monitor children. The open space kitchen/living room/dining area made communal gathering easy. Everyone also loved the European-style bunk beds, which were practical and very cute. Anne was also really responsive to my messages. I'd recommend this space to other families who need some R&R.

About the host
Hosted by Mark and Anne Reiner
The Reiner Family has lived on Lake Miltona for 15 years and have lived in the area collectively for over 30 years. We enjoy sharing our home with others and have always been pleased with how our guests care for our home during their stay. We welcome families both large and small for their gatherings. We love our neighbors and they will enjoy seeing you vacation here, so we ask that you are respectful of them as well. We cannot allow pets at all since we have members of our family with severe allergies. Of course, no smoking. We will not accommodate bachelor or bachelorette parties.
Why they chose this property
Our home was designed for entertaining at the lake. We come from large families so the home was built to share with others. We hope you will come and enjoy this property when it isn't in use by our family. We have family nearby in case you need anything. This home is relatively new, but was designed to feel like an old time lake home. Hopefully, the minute you enter you will feel like you have stepped back in time and will relax and enjoy the lake as you would have in days gone by. The home features large gathering areas including a great room that opens to the kitchen, a large 11x36 four-season room that can be converted to a scrap booking or quilting area. The kids will love the built in European style bunkbeds! There is also a screen porch that overlooks the lake and is one great napping spots. There is a copper clad wood-burning fireplace, deck, large shady lawn and awesome sandy beach. The rental is by the week from June through August and available for 3 day weekends throughout the remainder of the year. Lake Miltona is one of the finest lakes in the area known for fabulous fishing, clean water and every kind of water sport. Within a short distance you will find Carlos State Park, bike trails. downhill skiing, antiquing, live summer theatre, many opportunities to enjoy local musicians, an award winning local winery and so much more. Lake Miltona is also known as an excellent ice fishing lake and the snowmobile trail is nearby. The slogan for Alexandria, the neighboring town, is 'Easy to get to, hard to leave.' Come stay and we think you will agree.
What makes this property unique
The things most people love about our home is the warm and welcoming feel the minute they walk in the door. It is new, but has the look and feel of a charming old lake home. The great room provides space to gather for a meal or visit with a small or large number of people around the beautiful copper-faced fireplace which features huge antique beams. There are also lots of places to get away and read a book or just enjoy the summer breeze. Across the road is a picturesque farm with a small lake that provides awesome pictures of sunsets. Out front you have shade, beautiful sunrises and lots of sand. You might even want to bring your boat/pontoon to enjoy a leisurely tour of the amazing 5800 acre lake. You can stop by the sand bar where dozens of people gather to play volleyball and mingle in crystal clear water with a sand bottom. Once again, the easy accessibility of this home makes this an easy place for everyone to visit. Looking forward to meeting you.
