Secluded Log Cabin on creek; near Helen, Anna Ruby Falls and Unicoi


“Over the creek and through the woods” . . . to the Log Cabin at Sautee Paso Fino Ranch, a secluded 'true log cabin' with two creeks flowing through the property. This privately owned, family mountain retreat is tucked away between historic Nacoochee Valley and Unicoi State Park – convenient to Helen, Unicoi State Park, Clarkesville, and Cleveland.

We welcome you to visit us and enjoy the majesty of the beautiful and ever-changing North Georgia Mountains where each season displays its own distinctive colors and scenes. Surrounding Helen is the Chattahoochee National Forest, Smithgall Woods, and Unicoi State Park. Richard Russell Scenic Highway and the Appalachian Trail are nearby – as well as many streams, waterfalls, hiking trails, and a wide variety of outdoor activities.

We keep a guest book that includes listings of shops, museums, restaurants, and other attractions.

As you arrive, we personally greet you to give you an opportunity to preview the cabin. We make every effort to provide a clean and pleasant environment for you to enjoy; therefore, this is strictly a non-smoking facility.

The cabin, located on Craig Creek within the Chattahoochee National Forest, is accessed by a gravel road.

Please notify owners about breed/size of pets upon your inquiry. Our pet friendly policy allows a maximum of 2 house trained dogs (50 lb limit). We do ask that your pets be placed in an inside carry kennel when you are away from the property. With your inquiry please state that you agree with our pet policy. Arrangements can be made for us to provide a kennel if needed. (No cats, please)

There are no rate changes for weekends or holidays.

To save costs for the traveler, we charge NO deposit, pet fee, etc. and we pay credit card fees. VRBO charges a service fee, and law requires that you pay state and local hotel/motel taxes.

Due to the creek crossing......No Motorcycles or ATVs

It was such a restful weekend! Our two fur babies loved it also! The scenery was awesome. The creek running along 3 sides was so nice to listen to while sitting on the porch!We definitely will return! Don met us and made sure we were satisfied!

The Best Cozy Cabin

If you’re looking for a peaceful cozy cabin, this is it! Surrounded by nature and a beautiful creek right outside, it gives you an off the grid mountain feel while still having all the amenities you could want AND is still very close to everything you could ever want to see and do in town. We look forward to staying here again in the future and will be highly recommending it for anyone looking for a cozy place to stay!

Perfect for our weekend trip

Great experience from the time of check in where Don met is and showed us around. Cabin was perfect for us and our puppy. Great location that was close to all our activities. It is decorated well, clean and comfortable. The feeling of seclusion and privacy and creek wrapping around the cabin made it extra nice.

Secluded and relaxing

We loved our stay at the secluded cabin in Sautee Nacoochee. It was close enough to Helen, fishing holes, and hiking yet far enough outside all of the hustle and bustle. The cabin was nice and quiet. Don was wonderful to work with and showed us how to work the thermostat. We’d love to visit again.

Cozy Secluded Cabin

The cabin was exactly like the listing and the host was very kind. It was in fact more secluded then we had thought but only about 10 minutes or so from helen. The cabin was very clean and had kitchen supplies as well as all mentioned items in the listing. We will book this listing again.againbook this listing again

Quiet Getaway

No one else to be seen. Loved being able to sit and listen to the creek. Had fun wading it in too. Very much a getaway but close enough to drive if we wanted to go do things. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Perfect getaway

The cabin was perfect for a weekend getaway for me and my dog. Quiet and peaceful. Cabin was very clean, comfortable, and had everything needed. Cell phone service (GoogleFI/T-mobile) doesn't work at the cabin, but was able to get signal a few miles away for checking in.

Perfect vacation spot

We had a wonderful experience staying at this cabin. The location right on the creek was absolutely beautiful. Sitting on the front porch swing, listening to the creek, and watching the fireflies made for the perfect relaxing getaway. It was very close to Helen and many nice hiking spots like Anna Ruby Falls, Unicoi, and Moccasin Creek State Park. We loved being able to bring our dogs along too! The hosts are so sweet and welcoming! We will definitely be back!

FABULOUS Getaway!!!

We were in search of a peaceful place for one last family getaway before leaving our son at Georgia Tech. We LOVED the serenity we found tucked away in this cabin. Don met us when we arrived and made sure we were comfortable. We were secluded but only 5 miles from Helen, Unicoi National Park, and Anna Ruby Falls. I HIGHLY recommend this cabin for your next get away!

Lovely and private

This lovely cabin was perfect for our relaxing weekend. On a private, gravel road with a “gatekeeper” water crossing best suited to higher clearance vehicles like SUVs or trucks, the property is unique. The stream is just outside the door, with the sound of the water to lull one to sleep at night. The cabin was exquisitely clean and comfortable, and the host Don was friendly and helpful. We look forward to returning to this cabin at our next opportunity.

Comfortable and quiet

The cabin was very comfortable (bed was pretty soft) and had most of what we needed. If you’re a wine drinker, bring your own glasses unless you don’t mind drinking out of juice glasses. The property was close to everything and the drive in is beautiful. The creek was wonderful and like others have said, having coffee on the porch was a nice time to reflect and enjoy the outdoors. Perfect get away!

What a perfect spot tucked away in the woods. So serene to sit on the porch with the creek just feet away and nothing but the sounds of nature. The creek also lulled me to sleep at night. Also did not have to use any bug spray, seemed blessedly free of mosquitos. The beds were comfy and it's a short drive away from anything you may want to see or do. Don was a great host and helpful with anything we needed, although we did not need for much. I would absolutely come back!

Waterfront tranquil and secluded stay

The property sits right along the edge of the creek, and it is literally steps away from the front door. The tranquility of and ease of access to the creek were definitely key features, our dog and teenager loved it! Although only 15 min from Helen, you truly feel like you are deep in the wildness here. I didn't get get phone service but the internet connection was great and worked well. The house was very clean and Don and Brenda were very gracious hosts. They were helpful with directions and and made sure we were happy with the amenities provided at check in. I would absolutely stay here again if I was in the area.
