Five stars all around! The Schoolhouse is beautifully decorated, and you can immediately feel the care and intention that went into creating the space. It was spotless, well-stocked with towels, toiletries, and the coffee and wine were such a thoughtful bonus. The host was responsive and kind! The location was perfect, and it truly felt like a home away from home. We’ll be staying here every time we visit Monticello!
This house was so cute and well stocked. The decor was awesome. Either the owner has a great eye for decorating or had it done. The location just a few blocks from downtown was ideal. Just all around a great find. If you want a great little house to stay in this is it. The front porch was great and so much charm. They had a little Christmas tree in the corner and some lights out front. We didn’t have much time to explore the town due to being in town for a funeral but Cow Haus coffee shop was a great place for a really good cup of coffee.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely house. It was very clean, comfortable, well equipped, and located in a safe and quiet area. Highly recommend!
House was perfect, close to town, clean and quiet. Everything we needed, well stocked with all the necessities including things you wouldn't normally expect from a rental.

This was a beautiful home, VERY clean and comfortable! A short drive from Tallahassee for grad weekend.I would highly recommend this property to anyone.
We stayed here for two nights to visit our daughter and grandson. It’s a great home. It’s very clean and the location can’t be beat-easy walk or a very short drive to several nice restaurants. The home is well equipped with a full kitchen and comfy living and bedrooms. Check in and check out was easy. We’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful charming historic home easy walking distance to town shops, restaurants and opera house. Beautifully appointed and very clean. My parents enjoyed qthe quietness of area sitting on covered front porch.
Enjoyed our stay. Charming cottage. Very clean. The issues were: No ice in refrigerator. Bathtub was hard to get out of for older people. Thanks for a beautiful vacation rental.

Thanks so much for letting us know about the icemaker! We are addressing that asap. And for your observations about the tub. Hopefully that will be helpful for future guests.
The Schoolhouse may be the best VRBO property we have ever used...and we have been members 10 years and used many. Our hosts, the Bachmans, were very easy to work with and very responsive. The property is beautifully renovated and retains many of the historic touches of an early 20th century home. The home is equipped with new furnishings and kitchen utensils. Beds are very comfortable, and linens and bath items are well appointed. If you are in the area and looking for a very comfortable, affordable, and well-maintained place to stay...the Schoolhouse deserves a look. Also, 45 min from FSU for game day...:)
My wife and I had an excellent stay at the School House in Monticello last weekend! The home was clean and modern and had all of the thoughtful extras that make a good VRBO home great. It is located a very short walk to the center of Monticello and yet is in a very quiet location. Our host, Brian, was helpful and went the extra mile to ensure our stay was pleasant. The bathtub in the master bath looks very stylish but has a very high step over. Elderly folks will probably want to use the beautiful walk-in shower. The orange padded swivel chair in the living room is quite comfortable – especially when used with the accompanying Ottoman – but makes a very loud creaking sound whenever you rotate. It didn’t bother us much, more of a minor annoyance. The kitchen is quite large, well-equipped, and modern. It would be easy to prepare full meals here although we did not have an opportunity to do that. Also, we wished we’d had a chance to sit out on the front porch reading a book or enjoying a cocktail. It would be ideal for those activities. Two couples could stay here quite comfortably without feeling like they were tripping over each other. Overall, I highly recommend the schoolhouse to anyone wanting a pleasant, short- to medium-term stay in Monticello. We loved it and I think you will too!
