About this property
Your home away from home - cozy cabin on Sebago Lake in quiet Jordan Bay region
This adorable 3-bedroom cabin is rustic, but with modern necessities to ensure your comfort. Nestled in a peaceful community in the Jordan Bay section of Sebago Lake, Maine's second largest lake, this is a perfect getaway for couples, small groups and families with kids. Unlike many other rentals in the area, you don't cross any high-traffic roads to access a public beach, but instead walk a short way down a private dirt road to the private association beach to which only the association's residents and guests have access.
Start your morning with a cup of coffee on the pier overlooking the protected Jordan's Bay section of Sebago Lake. Spend the day at the association's private beach, perfect for sunning, picnicking, splashing, swimming and fishing. We provide kayaks, life jackets and paddles, so you can be sure to enjoy the lake during your stay.
This property is located in Standish, Maine, a 5-minute drive to local businesses, shops, dining, and entertainment, and 20 miles from gorgeous Portland, Maine, known for its coastal attractions, nightlife and stellar food.
The house has a cozy bedroom on the first floor which sleeps two (equipped with a queen bed, television and closet). Upstairs are two welcoming rooms, one with two twins beds and the other with a full bed. Electric heat and air conditioning will keep you comfortable on chilly mornings and hot summer days alike. Relax in the comfortable living room, featuring a flat-screen smart TV and original wood floors. A well-equipped kitchen, complete with full-sized appliances and a washer and dryer, a dining area seating six, a bathroom, and a deck with outdoor furniture and grill make this an extraordinary home away from home for your vacation.
Local marinas offer boat and non-motorized rentals so you can make the most of the lake during your vacation. The lake is ideal for fishing, paddleboarding, water sports, kayaking and exploring. Consider visiting Frye Island for dinner or ice cream during your stay. We are minutes from St. Joseph's College and from downtown Windham, which has shopping, restaurants, a movie theatre and other activities and entertainment.

Our visit was very enjoyable, the cabin was comfortable and had all the amenities. With a short walk we're at the beach area it had a sandy beach area which was nice for the little ones and it was a great spot for kayaking and the sunsets were amazing. Overall great time.
The owner Sarah was very easy to communicate with prior to our stay. The check-in process was also very easy. Our three boys (ages 10, 12 and 15) loved the proximity to the lake and the use of the kayaks on property. We rented a boat from Sebago Lake Marina which was a short drive from the house. Our kids also enjoyed a visit to Seacoast Adventure which was only a few minutes away where they enjoyed go-karts and mini golf. The house was also close enough to drive into Portland for the day. It was so nice being able to take the short walk down to the water and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again if back in the area!
Wonderful experience! Only possible improvement would be adding a dishwasher.!!!!

About the host
Hosted by Sarah Crossman
We have owned this property since 2016. Lifelong Mainers, we both grew up with an appreciation for lake living. Our goal, when we aren't at the camp with our two young children, is to give others the chance to enjoy this little hideaway in Maine.
Why they chose this property
It is ideally located. No need to drive 5 or 6 hours into the remote areas of the state to enjoy a lakeside vacation in Maine. Its proximity to nearby towns, to Portland and to St. Joe's College ensures you have everything you need to enjoy your stay. A small neighborhood of mostly seasonal residents share access to the private association beach which offers parking, a sheltered beach for the kids to play and swim, fishing, etc.
What makes this property unique
Lots of original woodwork (the cabin was built in the 1940s!), plenty of wood, but with modern upgrades to ensure it is comfortable and current.
