Wow. I am surprised by this review especially since I let the renter into the unit a half day early due to their flight timing. If you read all the other reviews you would see that renters are extremely pleased with the decor and conveniences we provide I also provide all renters with the pool code and parking pass information in the welcome letter I email to all renters. And I in fact I checked with Brian in advance to verify that he received it. Ekahi is not a large development so its at most 3-5 minutes drive to drop off the pass. And it is Ekahi that requires that the parking pass to be done this way. We do not provide shampoo but we do provide an extensive amount of cooking, cleaning, and paper supplies that surpass most rentals. I hope other renters will read the other reviews to get a better sense of our unit decor and conveniences.

You've pointed out one of the things I think makes Ekahi special, the wide open spaces and beautiful, tropical landscaping throughout the community. Nowadays I think they'd build the condos much closer together to squeeze in more units to sell so you'd mostly be looking at other buildings or parking lots. But luckily Ekahi was built a while back and the architects thought about pleasing vistas and private space. So from our picture window in the living room and the other one over the kitchen sink and then of course the lanai you get those wide open, beautiful landscaped scenes with such a bountiful mix of tropical plants and birds and then of course the ocean and Kahoolawe island views in one direction and West Maui mountains the other. And now that we have those big cushy plantation style chairs and ottomans on the lanai you can just sit and watch the beautiful world surrounding you. So glad you were able to find all the cooking tools you wanted too. We just installed the new glass cooktop/oven and new gas grill for the lanai this past year and keep trying to add new things every time we get a chance. Although there are so many great restaurants nearby we think some of the best of Maui is found in the quiet relaxing moments enjoying your home-made meals or just a cocktail and snacks while watching the sun set from the lanai. We’re so happy your first family vacation was everything you wanted. We’ve tried to capture those views in our photos but like you said until you get there it’s almost impossible to imagine it. When we’re not at the beach or one of the pools, we’re out on that lanai just taking it all in. That view combined with the sense of space you get from the high ceilings and large rooms really does help to melt away the busy lives most of us are trying to leave behind when we go to Maui.
