Dun Mhorain holiday home is THE place to stay while exploring the Dingle Peninsula. Experience the Dingle peninsula like a true local in the village of Ballydavid located just 7 scenic miles from Dingle town center. If you miss Ballydavid: its views pubs and people, you’ve missed the peninsula.

Walk the dramatic coastline from your own back door (expect to see NO ONE except a few startled sheep) , relax on our stone picnic table and watch the sunset, play pool upstairs with the large windows that open to the countryside, or start a turf fire in the living room.

Just a half mile, grab a drink at the local pub An Cuinne or enjoy the many restaurants and pubs that dot the coastline only a short distance away. With over 30 years of travelling to the peninsula and professionally managed by The Old Pier (native Irish speakers), let us help you plan your perfect vacation.

Fabulous home and view!
We loved our time at the home. Spectacular views. Hard to beat. A little hiccup trying to get ahold of the property manager, but VRBO came to the rescue and we got stuff sorted out relatively quickly. Great spot. Thank you!!

Family trip
Beautiful location with stunning views. Easy ride into Dingle town center. More kitchen seating would be ideal for larger parties.

Hughly recommend this house. We stayed here as a large extended family group. The house was very well equiped, with plenty of space. Beautiful views and very close to a beach.

About the host

I took my first trip to Ireland in 1985 and raced around the West coast from Donegal to Cork and stumbled on Dingle. Had it been my first stop I wouldn't have gone any further.
Having stayed in B&B's and Inns in the various villages and in town over the years, we bought a site on rocks above Smerwick Harbor and within a half mile of one of our favorite country pubs. Notwithstanding our end-of-the-earth setting, 10 minute access to Dingle affords the best music and cuisine you can find in Ireland.

Why they chose this property

There are numerous pubs that dot the peninsula outside of Dingle. We found ourselves in a pleasant rotation, yet always apprehensive about missing a football match or a session that might surpass the perfection of the moment. We stumbled upon a lot in the center of it all with views of ocean swells exploding off rocks, within ten minutes of town and concluded that "we have to do this," and thats what we did.

What makes this property unique

The home is L shaped with two wings on two floors that affords privacy even with several couples/families.
The living room faces the sea in the back and the mountains in the front. The tides, clouds and light make for an ever changing view. In the living room there is a traditional fireplace where you can burn turf coal or turf briquettes.
Its the perfect combination of traditional Irish with modern amenities.
