Property was perfect for our weekend. Spacious upstairs and kitchen. Use of the Northstar shuttle made access to and from the village hassle free and fun. Great location and met our needs.

It was an amazing place. Very nice, clean and conveniently close to the village.
I’d highly recommend this place.

We are thrilled you have stayed in one of our Grand Welcome homes and would love to invite you back in the future. Please let us know what we can do to make your stay even better for next time!
This is a great condo! Clean, well equipped and cozy. The location is really good - 10 minute walk from Northstar village. If there's enough snow, you can practically ski all the way there (but not back - it's uphill). We had a great weekend there, and will hopefully be back again!
Our family has stayed in several condos in NorthStar and we found this one to be very well stocked, clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything, the linens were good quality and the common areas were cozy. We were a couple and 2 teens, and it was the perfect size.

The place is great. As advertised. The management company could be better.
Poor communications, wifi does not work, no shampoo or bath soap. Management does not care.
Although it seems that the owners put a lot of love and care into their home, the management company that they use to manage their rentals- "Grand Welcome" has very poor customer service. The first question that I asked about using the recreation center, went unanswered. Then when we arrived we discovered the wifi did not work. After trying the suggestions in the information booklet I reached out to "Grand Welcome" and they never responded. Then we found out there was no shampoo or bath soap and I reached out again. This time they replied that the owner only supplies 1 days worth and if there isn't any then they would ask someone about it... THREE days later I get a message from them that the owner does not supply those things. In addition "Grand Welcome" requires renters to wash all bath towels before leaving and empty all garbage or else incur an additional cleaning fee. This doesn't seem very fair considering the cleaning fee for the rental was quite expensive. Overall although the owners themselves created a lovely home, the management company that they use is quite negligent and seems to only care about keeping communications to a minimum to maximize profits from their rentals. After this experience I will never rent any properties managed by "Grand Welcome" again.

Hi Jamie,
We are so sorry for the lack of communication from our team. I have shared your review with our team and we are looking at where communication stopped and how we can provide the correct information to make sure this does not happen again.
Unfortunately, we provide a starter set of consumables and suggest that guests bring any extra they may need. We have added this onto our listing to help clear up any confusion.
We ask our guests to load the washer and dishwasher so that it could help speed up the process of cleaning after check out. It would really help minimize the time spent by cleaners waiting for laundry/dishes to wash. We sincerely apologize for the headaches and will be more transparent with guests to avoid any confusion. Thank you!
Good Deal.
Good Condition.
Good Location for a short drive between Truckee and Kings Beach.
Good Parking.
Plenty of kitchen utensils
Brought up the bicycles and placed them on the first floor deck–that was plenty high enough off the ground to be secure.
Short distance to the Northstar Shopping and Recreation Center. Hiked up the back trail to the public parking lot–almost not worth it drive up and park.
Recreation Center is now $8.00 per person for hot tub/pool/gym.
The beds appeared to be a Double Bed–a little tight for some people.
Pleased with the stay.
Arrived to no water at all in the condo! After numerous phone calls to management company we got a call back to try and locate a lever and turn the water on.Finally we found the lever on one of the closets water came and was cold as ice.
Again day 2 numerous calls to management with replies via text to locate red lever in laundry room( there was no red lever in laundry room!) Finally located the heater outside and tried to get it started on our own we could not.Day 3 they sent a very nice lady( only positive aspect of this stay) and she fixed the broken heater.
This was 3 days lost unfortunately.
Place is poorly equiped for instance they had no coffee( all other places had it) shampoo conditioner etc.
Very different from other places we stayed at here at Northstar.
Needles to say - will never stay here again.
We were in town for a youth sports tournament and this home had everything we needed. The home was fully stocked and the location was perfect. We walked the trails, loved everything The Village had to offer and even saw bears. Amazing!
This was our first time staying in the Silver Strike area, and we loved how much more space we had at this property compared to Ski Trails properties. The property was clean, all the appliances worked, and the kitchen was well stocked in terms of pots/pans/toaster/waffle iron and more. We also thought that we'd definitely have to take a shuttle or drive to the village, but our kids (youngest age 6) enjoyed the 0.5 mile hike up to the base. We'll definitely be back!
We have stayed in a bunch of similar condos that were built in the 70s. This one is well taken care of and updated. The kitchen is super well-stocked, the technology for the TV is great and mostly easy to use, shower water pressure is good, and quality linens and towels. Short walk to shuttle and from car, which was nice in ski boots. The only downside the heater is EXTREMELY loud and kicks on in the middle of the night (it was winter and it had to be on) within the primary bedroom.
When booking this place, we were a little concerned based on some of the previous reviews, but we booked it anyway.
Once we arrived, our expectations were vastly exceeded. The place was very nice and clean and had everything we needed. Especially the kitchen was much better equipped than we expected.
The construction is a little bit on the older side but very well maintained. We had great views from the living room and Master bedroom balconies (no neighbors, just trees), and we even got to use the grill that was provided!
The location was convenient too, not far from the Northstar village and only a 10-minute drive from Kings Beach.
A nice and cozy cabin conveniently located close to North Star. The cabin itself is a little bit on the old side, but still comfortable. The kitchen and laundry room are both completely stocked, more than enough for our daily use. A lot of towels and blankets in each room too. I especially like the gesture of the bode lotion stocked in the kitchen. It helped a lot for our dry hands due to the heater on all day. Overall, a pleasant stay. I have nothing to complain about.
Comfortable two bedroom condo 5mins by free shuttle from the village and lifts. Clean comfortable relaxing. Well equipped kitchen. Great place for ski vacation.
The condo is excellent. It feels spacious is fully equipped and comfortable. Parking is right out front, and the living area has a comfy couch and large dining table. While there are hiking trails in walking distance there are no shops or restaurants nearby so you're forced to drive everywhere (or eat very unhealthy food at Northstar village, which is the only thing walkable). The property manager was easy to get a hold of and responsive. Although I prefer other locales - the condo itself is absolutely worthy of a stay if you want to be in this area.
While excellent, here are some things of note and that could be improved:
1- Know the condo has no A/C and the upstairs living area gets very hot in the summer. They provide a fan, but late afternoons can get quite hot. Temperature showed over 80 inside on some days.
2- The dryer, although vented, does not dry clothes properly. It takes multiple runs and many hours to dry.
3- The TV has cable, but many of the channels are inoperative. Not because they aren't offered/paid for, but because something is wrong with the "antenna" or installation and you can't watch them.
4- The shower heads either need replacing or fixing (removal of calcium deposits). You get more of a wild spray shower than anything else.
