About this property

Private lakefront cottage on Lake Champlain, feet from Causeway bike path.

Private year-round cottage on Lake Champlain (Mallets Bay), a 10:00 drive to downtown Burlington and area colleges. You will be treated to glorious panoramic lake views, with an open-floor plan, fully equipped kitchen, outdoor grill - Cabana bar and beach fire pit. The world-class Colchester Causeway bike path is just minutes outside our door. Sleeps 4-6 with a queen-size bed in the upstairs open-loft, a full-size bed in the downstairs bedroom, and a full-size sleeper sofa in the living room. Relaxation is pretty much guaranteed. Great fishing just steps out our door. Enjoy all four seasons that Vermont has to offer! We are pet friendly (one dog only, no cats). The cottage is located in a quiet community that we treasure. Because of this, we limit the number of guest that stay, and require that all of the Mills Point Association Rules are followed, including leashed dogs, parking regulations and no loud parties.

Beautiful and convenient location. Home was clean and filled with fresh cut flowers from the beautiful gardens around the house. The kitchen had everything we needed but lacked lighting. Under cabinet lights would make a huge difference. The beds were comfortable but the queen was a tad too small for us because of shoulder ailments that require additional pillows. I would recommend this home.

The property was beautiful, clean, and family friendly. My family had such a great time we look forward to going back! The only disappointment was that we thought we could use the dock for our family boat but could not due to it needed repairs we were unaware of. Aside from that it was the perfect quiet family getaway. Thank you!

The house is located within a quiet neighborhood. The interior, and the large terrace and garden are charming. There are countless lovely decorations such as beautiful plants outdoors and real bouquets indoors. Various towels come in ample numbers. Two comfortable armchairs are especially impressive since they have stable leg rests and reclining backrests up to laying flat. The downstairs heater quickly warmed up the house in the mornings. The beds were comfortable. No dish washer, no washer and dryer. You sit in front of large windows and have a most awesome view of a natural landscape including reed waving with the wind, lakeshore, birds, mountains, trees with colored leafs, sunrise, red sky in the morning. The sun wanders around the right side of the house, and the views are never blinded. In the living room, there is a large carpet for morning stretching. The TV could be bigger considering the size of the living room. We are a couple and stayed 5 nights during the first week of October. We behaved as quiet as possible and were rewarded with a wonderful serene and restful time. We loved the place very much and would like to come back.

Great location with beautiful view, but the house needs a good cleaning. Many items in the home were very dirty and dusty. The windows were covered in fingerprints and smudges which took away from the view.

We were absolutely stunned by the beauty of this cabin on the lake. It far surpassed the pictures. We loved the location and biked every day on the causway and South Hero. The cabin was super cozy and comfortable for us. We enjoyed coffee every morning over looking the beautiful lake. It was the perfect spot to slow down and unwind. Cute lakeside cottage has tremendous location right near the bike path and a short ride to Burlington. Susan was super easy to deal with and very helpful. In her communications. The outside layout is just perfect. We fished off the dock, kayaked etc. The cottage does need updating but it sounded like the owner was aware of it and prioritizing some repairs. Main feedback would be if you're a light sleeper or you have a larger family this is probably not the cabin for you as there's only one bedroom that gets dark enough to get a good night's sleep. With a few updates and some better amenities in the kitchen, this cabin would definitely be a five-star experience

Great area, tons of activities for the whole family. Fishing right out in the back yard on the lake. Burlington is 15 minute drive, ECHO center is great for kids and bike/walking path right outside along the lake. This house has everything we needed and more.

Great Escape Place

My friend and I stayed at this property while teaching a class in the area. We really appreciated our daily return to this restful and restorative spot. Great views of the bay with plenty of bird activity for entertainment. Thank you for this wonderful spot. We did have lots of rain which kept us indoors so appreciated all the cozy blankets and wraps provided.

Wonderful setting

We planned to stay here with extended family for our daughter's UVM graduation but thanks to unexpected circumstances it was only three of us. It was frigid and rainy the entire weekend, but we still enjoyed the views and a very comfortable home where anything we could think of was provided. We hope to return someday when we can take advantage of the amazing location on the lake and next to the bike path.

Great small cottage on the water. We were here in Feb during a huge snow storm and it was absolutely beautiful. Cottage is close to essentials like grocery and gas and a short drive to all the restaurants in Burlington.

Sweet Cottage on the lake

The cottage is in a quiet neighborhood that is just great for walking and convenient to the bike path. The outdoor areas of the cottage are filled with beautiful flowers and plenty of seating options for relaxing or eating outside. The kitchen is well equipped and the cottage has large windows and super views of the lake. We loved that the cottage was homey and appeared to be well loved by the family that owned it, which made us feel right at home, too! The owner, Susan, was great about checking in and keeping us updated on flexibility with checking and checkout times.

Loved staying at this serene cottage just steps away from an incredible bike trail across Lake Champlain and within close proximity to everything Burlington has to offer. The views from the cottage and the abundance of gorgeous flowers all around the property were amazing. Comfortable beds and linens, hot showers daily, nice fluffy towels, and provided coffee were all appreciated. Cute little touches throughout. We had a wonderful time.

Wonderful weekend getaway with family

Spent a wonderful weekend at Susan’s beautiful home with my boyfriend, 2 kids and our dog. Everything was just as the listing stated and the view was absolutely amazing. The weather didn’t cooperate with us to be able to use the outdoor space much, but the living area inside was perfect for games and movies. Everyone wants to come back! Communication with Susan was easy and the binder left in the kitchen had tons of useful information. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

What a view!

This house is right on the water and has spectacular views from the living room and the loft bedroom. The house is also located very close to the Island Rail Trail which worked great for us. Maybe the only negative was the lack of curtains for the top windows which meant the loft bedroom was flooded with light in the morning. Other than that, the house was spectacular and we'd love to stay here again. Thanks so much for having us!

Memorial Weekend Getaway 2024

We absolutely loved our stay! The house is clean and comfortable with great amenities like kayaks, a canoe, binoculars, lake front property with dock, and fire pit. Perfect location! There is a bike path nearby - great for biking or walking - and tennis courts not far, as well. It's 20 minutes to Burlington, and there's some nice hiking nearby also. Great weekend outdoors!

My Favorite View!

This is my third time staying at this wonderful cottage. As my title indicates, it has the most amazing view that changes throughout the day. There are giant windows facing the lake and reclining chairs that allow one to watch kayakers, people in boats, and SO many different types of birds. The cottage is always spic and span clean and very comfortable. The sheets and towels are soft, the beds are comfy, the fridge has extra condiments (like ketchup) so you don't have to buy any, the bathroom has extra toiletries in case you forgot something. One feels very "at home" while staying there. We enjoyed a walk on the Causeway one evening....so nice to have such a lovely walk right around the corner!! Another enjoyable stay, and we hope to be back again soon!
