Welcome to our colorful basement apartment located in the vibrant neighborhood of Sloans Lake in Denver! This cozy retreat offers the perfect combo of comfort and convenience.

Please note that this basement apartment has low ceilings. If you are 5’11 or taller, you’ll have to duck in a few spots. Additionally, please know the hosts reside in the main house above the basement apartment with a dog, so there may be some occasional sounds from above.

From the time we booked the room to check out. Very clean and charming. Felt like we were at home. We were in walking distance to things and really didn’t need our car. The host gave us suggestions of places to eat and see. Definitely would book again

The place was exactly what we were looking for. love the furnishings and had everything we needed for an extended stay in the city. Good WiFi, TV, and kitchen appliances. Check in was at 3 PM and the check in process went super smoothly. Couldn't think of much else we could have asked for!

We do not believe this rating accurately reflects the guest experience at our basement suite. We do not recommend sleeping more than 1 person on the futon. There is a queen air mattress available that comfortable sleeps two, in addition to the futon and primary bedroom.

The apartment was clean and relatively well kept. However, this is a basement apartment and the ceilings are very very low. I am 6'4" tall and I actually hit my head walking from the bedroom to the bathroom. Also, the bathroom is tiny. The other thing to note is that there is not thermostat to control the temperature in the unit. They message from the owner said to message them in the app and they would adjust the temperature for you. Well, that wasn't really an option when we wanted it cooler or warmer in the middle of the night.

We clearly state immediately within the listing description that this is a basement suite with low ceilings and we do not recommend guests to stay if they are above 5'11. The listing also states "Heating and cooling is controlled by the host. If you need an adjustment in the temperature please ask us!" and we have a fan and space heater available in the suite for your comfort. We aim to be clear, transparent, and up-front with all guests by providing this information in our listing. This guest did not read the listing and we hope that future guests will not judge our home and hosting based on this review. We have a 4.9 star rating after 2 years of hosting on another platform. We are sharing part of our home to visitors and do not do this as a business. We hope to be able to continue to share our home to guests on VRBO despite this guest's uninformed review.

Our favorite thing about our neighborhood is the walkability. We can walk to just about anything we need, including the metro rail station, bus stops, grocery stores, coffee shops, restaurants, bars, movie theater, and the beautiful Sloans Lake.

Our space is bright and fun, even as a basement suite. We really put lots of thought into the design down to the details. We also live upstairs and love interacting with guests if they’d like.
