Heron's Hearth is a newly updated unique and stylish bungalow. This artistic dog-friendly home provides all the comforts of home while giving you immediate access to our pristine quiet beach, secret local coastal hiking trails, mountain biking, birding, kayaking, surfing, clamming, crabbing, and more. Heron's Hearth is a safe quiet space to make new memories and get away from it all.
About the Bungalow:
We’ve specifically designed this inviting space to be an easy cozy retreat after a day of adventures beach-combing, exploring, or simply taking in the breathtaking views. Two Wilderness Systems sit-on-top kayaks with kayak carts, paddles, surf body-boards, beach chairs, umbrella, and beach cooler are all included in your stay! Curl up with a book by the Vermont Castings wood-stove, cook a delicious meal in the new fully equipped kitchen, or enjoy the serenity and ocean views right from the comfort of your own space.
A private keyed entry makes arrival quick and simple to begin your retreat. Sit back in your Adirondack chair and enjoy watching the Pacific Ocean waves rolling ashore from the front deck while listening to the small gentle creek trickle beside the property.
Your comfort and health are essential and important considerations. Both king and queen beds have Tempur-Pedic mattresses fitted with soft high quality linens that are professionally cleaned. Our American Leather King Comfort Sleeper® features 8" more sleeping space than a traditional sleeper with a true 80" of sleeping space on a 4" plush, high-density Tempur-Pedic® mattress. Low fragrance eco-friendly cleaning supplies are used to ensure an enjoyable stay for guests with sensitivities.
A warm water hose & dry towels are easily located right outside the side deck, great for washing sand off your shoes and your dog's paws. Whatever your adventure, Heron's Hearth is your special home away from home.

Set temperature to 60 degrees.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
There is a $500 additional cleaning fee for more than 2 pets.

The location is unbeatable, steps from the beach and a stone’s throw from lovely Tillamook Bay.The cottage is a charming gem, filled with personality…with every amenity considered. There’s a wonderful sense of warmth and character that makes you feel instantly at home while the host’s artistic sensibility was on display in each room.One of the highlights was the breezy porch, perfect for reading, sipping coffee or soaking in the sunsets. Perfect Coast Getaway

I wanted a quiet coastal getaway close to nature and this was the perfect fit! Skip was very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. The home has a spacious living room and porch. It is beautifully furnished and the kitchen is well stocked and even has sharp knives! The sofa bed is very comfy. The beach is a short walk away and there were so few people there it almost felt like a private beach. It was great to watch the birds and explore the tidepools. Next time I look forward to taking the kayaks to the lake and visiting the lily pads. The home is warm, welcoming, clean, and has everything you need. The little town and neighbors are quaint and friendly. I'd highly recommend this gem!

A True Home Away from Home by the Ocean

I needed a brief getaway to recharge, and Skip’s place was everything I needed and more. I was working remotely during my stay, and the WiFi was consistently fast and reliable — a huge plus for anyone needing to take video calls or get work done while away.Both nights, I slept incredibly well. The King-sized pullout sofa surprised me — it’s genuinely the most comfortable pull-out I’ve ever slept on, easily as good as (or better than) a regular bed. Skip and Zoe clearly spared no expense in ensuring guests are as comfortable as possible.The kitchen was another highlight. I cooked all weekend, and it had everything I needed — well-stocked, clean, and thoughtfully arranged. The location is ideal too: just a short 3-minute walk to a beautiful beach and amazing forest hiking trails. You can even see the ocean and hear the waves right from the property, which was incredibly peaceful. Plus, the kayaks were a fantastic bonus that made the trip even more memorable.I’m already looking forward to my next stay here. I can't recommend this place enough — Skip and Zoe have created a truly special retreat!

This is probably one of the nicest places we have stayed on the beach. Everything was so very well thought out. Loved all the dimmable beautiful lamps and auto blinds. Kitchen is well stocked. Great deck to watch the sunsets. Easy access to the amazing beach. Bed very comfy. Outdoors, the hot/cold hose helped us keep Miss Mollys paws clean. Loved it!

We are local Oregonians who live and work in Portland and fell in love with Cape Meares. We enjoy spending our vacations and weekends adventuing in nature with our dog, Arrow and so excited to share this special place with other travelers and those who just love to spend time by the ocean.

Why they chose this property

Cape Meares is a unique small quaint coastal town. The locals are mostly friendly retirees who look out for each other and work hard to preserve and protect the natural landscape. Its small fresh water lake, only 1/2 mile away, and Tillamook Bay make it a hotspot for coast migratory birds and kayakers. The local secret hiking and biking trails are not overcrowded in the summer months and the beach is protected so no vehicles are allowed to drive on the beach, allowing families and dogs to roam freely and safely. Its also considered one of the best places to star gaze since there are no light pollution at night. Oregon is still wild here and we like it that way!

We are safely located above the flood zone and close enough to the Ocean to see and hear the waves. Enjoy the beautiful creek that trickles beside the property while BBQing outside. We offer beautiful ocean views and and an enjoyable outdoor deck to relax and enjoy yourself. We use only the most high quality and comfortable linens for your stay. We make an extra effort to only use eco-friendly low scent cleaners and take the extra time to have your vacation rental cleaned by professional cleaners. We are available 24/7 for any needs or question you have during your stay.
