Why not get the best view of this river and off street parking? And Check in as early as noon And late checkout will be given if at all possible. WCR is Located in FRIES, VA in the county of what is known as Sweet Grayson, you will enjoy all this 1-bedroom , brand new tiny house/park model has to offer. This property features a cozy living room with an electric fireplace, a full view of the river….perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The bedroom boasts a comfortable Tempur-pedic queen mattress ., and 44 inch smart TV The home is heated and cooled by a propane backed up electric heat pump, Comcast WiFi, a fully equipped kitchen for all your cooking needs. A nuggets ice maker to make that drink extra special! Adirondack chairs around the fire pit with a view of the second oldest river in the world…the Glorious New River! In your outdoor relaxation area, you will have 2 hanging hammock chairs, a swing bed, and 2 hammocks, two convert- a benches, comfortable dining on the patio. WCR has a ping pong table and checkers located inside the play shed.and corn hole! You will hear the birds singing while you listen to the water flowing over the Fries dam. You may see the Bald Eagles soaring over the river searching for their next meal.. Inside you’ll have a comfy sofa and recliner to view the river or warm up in front of the electric fireplace .The 55 inch smart tv will offer lots of entertaining options. Wildcat Ridge is near hiking and biking trails, kayaking and canoeing . You can fish for small mouth bass and come cook them on the outdoor charcoal grill!! Yummy! There is a community pool located at the rec center, just minutes away. Fries is a proud host of the Crooked Road, the birthing center of blue grass music. The two highest points in Va are located about an hour away, Mt Rogers and Whitetop. The famous Galax Fiddlers, held annually in August, attracts musicians from all over the world There is so much to see and do in this tiny town established in 1902 and a tiny home being established for your pleasure in 2025. . . come do it all or do nothing at all. Come see for yourself! Come make Wildcat Ridge your vacation destination. Wildcat Ridge will be your own little compound! Don’t miss it! And my wife and I enjoyed our stay the place was very clean and comfortable if we were going in that area again I would stay againThe only thing I would suggest I put a small fan in the bedroomBut overall my wife and I had a nice peaceful restful stay

We had a wonderful stay at Wildcat Ridge. The scenery was beautiful and loved the swing looking over the river. Had lots of fun games to play. It was very clean and had everything we needed. Rita was a pleasure to talk to and we will definitely plan to go back. Loved the area as well!

South a nice location! Beautiful view of the river and so many good spots outside to relax and read a book. Loft was excellent as a second bedroom. Highly recommend!!

Wildcat ridge was perfect. We had a short fast stay due to coming in town for a race. However we will be back next year and hope to stay again. The outside seating and entertainment was perfect. The views were amazing! Check-in was easy and we were able to check in early. Everything from start to finish was amazing!

What an incredible place to stay! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Wildcat Ridge. All the comforts of home in a glorious location above the New River. The views are spectacular in the morning and evening. Rita is one of the most attentive hosts we've ever encountered in all the years we've used VRBO. She worked hard to ensure our stay was exceptional. We will be back!

Short delay getting in because of code confusion to get key. Looked new and unused. Stocked with essentials and things you might need- even binoculars. Steep, narrow road to get to it but worth the view. Enjoyed outside bed for afternoon nap.

Absolutely wonderful

First off, I can not say enough how much I appreciated the details and the kindness from Rita and the beauty of her property! The views, the sounds of the new river dam while laying on the hammock by the fire pit gazing at the stars were breathtaking! Beautiful!

Wildcat Ridge is absolutely beautiful! Nice quiet and friendly neighborhood with spectacular views! This place has plenty of shaded seating to sit back and relax in. I loved the swinging bed, sat there all day reading. Rita is a wonderful property manager, giving us ideas on what to do locally and where to eat. Her brother, super nice guy, came over and hung up, set out, all the hammocks and chairs. I will definitely be back! Definitely a 10/10!

This place is the best for a quiet getaway. The place is set up for relaxing and unwind on the various swings and hammock.The view of the river from swing was spectacular. We went and floated on the river. It was so relaxing. Cute quiet little town. This 4 day get away was exactly what we needed.

Why they chose this property

my roots are deep and after 73 years, i made my way back home.

What makes this property unique

Wildcat Ridge sits high above the town of Fries VA…the mill
town was .established in 1902 and built from the ground up The Fries cotton mill, formally named Washington Mills, provided housing and jobs
and every need possible for the residents The New River was damed up to provide electricity to run the cotton mill and supply the homes with power. . The second oldest river in the world runs through the town and your retreat has a full view of that river! i have waited a life time to have this view and recently was able to realize my dream. From the porch i can see the church i attended as a child, the school where i attended middle school. The sweetest part is i am on the same ridge my dad lived as a child. in the far, far distance i can get a glimpse of the cemetery where many members of my family are interred. After many years of being away, at 73 i’ve made my way home.
